I stayed at the hotel above for three nights. Each morning, I would go downstairs to this Starbucks right on the coastal walkway. Beautiful location – if only the service wre as beautiful. The first day the cashier could not figure out how to run the money loaded to my account on the app. For whatever reason, he could not apply the full amount to my drinks. Tbe second day, the barista argued with me about the amount on my app account, insisting there was only $ 3.44 when I had just loaded $ 10. I didnt have the time to haggle about the amount, so I disagreed but was willing to pay the balance. But rather than apply the misquoted $ 3.44, the barista applied nothing! My last day, after refusing to honor the free drink I had earned on my account(despite the best efforts of the barista shorting me the day before) the cashier/I guess barista would not run the gift card I had loaded on my phone at all. Come on.

I love how fast this Starbucks is, it’s always busy but the baristas rock! They are fast and nice even when it gets crazy here! The outside seating is great, so bring your laptop and enjoy the view of the water while working. I do have some feedback for the grumpy cashier– he never cracks a smile or says thank you. He is borderline rude, not saying word to anyone like his life is miserable. If they replace him, this place would be a 5 all the way!

Our Batista was a Batista«champ» which was fairly impressive. I mean, it was starbucks so, yeah pretty much service you expect but this was the first time I saw a «Batista champ»… So… I suppose I need to recommend this location for that is nothing else.

I won’t bash the location as its already been mentioned on prior post. Parking Yada Yada. Instead I’ll talk about staff. Friendly, smiley, and pleasant!

Rather expensive BUT it is in the Hilton so I was much relieved to learn of it’s existence. There is nothing worse than being stuck at a convention with lousy coffee and tea offerings. Not to mention, the location is really pretty, overlooking the park and the water. There are plenty of seats both indoors and outdoors. The employees were all very nice and I noticed that one of them was kind enough to buy a homeless man a drink.

Standard Starbucks, but they crank the music WAAAAAY up. 6:30am is entirely too early to be forcefully assaulted by the awful Starbucks soundtracks.

What keeps me coming back to Starbucks? Caffeine addiction and like any other addict, I pay too much for my fix. At the end of a business trip where I survive on Starbucks, I long for CoGo’s with their buy 5 get the 6th free all at 75% the price per cup.

Conveniently located on the ground level of the Hilton Hotel, but their menu prices might be an all time high for any Starbucks. I understand if prices were a little higher than normal being inside of a hotel/resort, but my breakfast sandwich cost $ 7-$ 8.

I like the fact that there is a Starbucks underneath the hotel. It’s convenient, service is quick due to the type of traffic they get from tourism, there are indoor and outdoor seating, etc. This Starbuck beats all of the other hotel Starbucks locations I’ve been to.

Thank God for this place. First morning in SD, I realized all they had at the Hilton were those crappy mini bag coffee makers. And I am a coffee snob. I asked my friend Siri where I could find real coffee, and lo and behold at the entrance to the first story there is a full function Starbucks. Just go down from the lobby, out the door, to the left and left again towards the water. There’s a yogurt/juice place there as well, but I was focused on the Holy Grail, Anniversary Roast black coffee, leave no room for cream, miss! Line gets long after 6:30am, like SUPER long. Do not say I didn’t warn you. But we NEED our java, don’t we, slaves to the roast…

This is a review solely for coming on comic con weekend. The line was constantly out the door since it was the closest one to the convention center. It took me a good hour to get to order my drink. They have a nice selection of sandwiches and fruit on the side towards the cash registers. What threw me off was how expensive it was… just the coffee that is. At first I thought it was because it was comic con but now that I read the reviews it’s kind of crazy. My caramel macchiato venti was $ 8+. I had to quickly reload my Starbucks card because I also got a bagel. But then I saw that the bagel was the same price as other Starbucks… which made it kind of weird. It was a very hectic weekend but I think they could’ve been a little more prepared. They were headed in the right direction having extra pastries out but customers could clearly see how they were just taking them out of plastic bags and throwing them in the oven. I was told I had to wait a little longer for my bagel due to some oven issue… which was fine, but some lady didn’t get her order and just ended up walking out after asking for it 5 times while everyone behind her got their orders. They had around 6 employees and I think 2 managers in there. That little hiccup caused the line to slow down significantly. My coffee was ok though… The bagel too. *i did find it cool how they decked out the store to have Star Wars themed drawings, the movie playing, and costumes

Why post a Teavana Sparkling Tea Juice sign by the cashier if they are not available until tomorrow? Apparently, the barista asked me where I saw it advertised and pointed to the sign in front of their machine. Note — prices are higher here.

$ 4.99 for a mini frapp. And on top of that I could barely finish my drink because the crushed ice pieces were so large it wouldn’t go through my straw. Pretty ridiculous.

Resort prices in full effect! Just walk across the street. The staff here is rude, the prices are inflated, and even the coffee isn’t as good as at some other Starbucks(and that’s just sad). It was $ 20 for a breakfast sandwich, orange juice, and latte. TWENTYDOLLARS. TWO-ZERO. And, the prices for a lot of things aren’t posted. You’ve been warned. Well, you’ve been warned only if you read this review, not if you walk in and trust Starbucks to be honest. I asked for the bacon, egg & cheese sandwich and was met with«you mean the double smoked bacon sandwich?» Yes. That is what I meant. The only bacon sandwich you have. I don’t need your Starbucks arrogance forcing me to say the fake marketing terms in your breakfast sandwich name. The sandwich wasn’t too bad, but it wasn’t much better than McDonalds. It certainly wasn’t worth paying more than twice the price. The cashier was somewhat friendly with everyone else, but then was rude to us when we got there for some reason. He decided that talking to another employee was more important than helping us. This while there was a fairly long line that was just getting longer. The coffee was burned and still scalding hot for quite awhile after receiving it; this is something that some Starbucks locations do and some don’t. Seriously, if you really want Starbucks for some reason, just walk into the Gaslamp District and go to one of the several options there.

What I ordered: Caramel Coffee Frappuccino with Whipped cream and caramel sauce on top Recommend?: Yes! Quick Description: The coffee flavour is really strong, but the milk and the sweetness of the caramel mean that it’s not too overpowering. Perfect if you have a bit of a sweet tooth but still want your coffee fix. Only problem that I find is that towards the end it gets a bit sickly. It’s definitely worth a try though and because it’s cold it’s perfect for a summers day! It’s absolutely delicious!

The staff seemed to be a little slow and confused. The line was not long but it still took longer that usual to get my drink. The worst part of this location — which is not the fault of the employees — is the pricing. The hotel/airport pricing is pretty ridiculous. I am a fan of overpriced coffee, but raise the price more and it’s a little sad. Luckily I was getting reimbursed because I was there on business. The hours of this location are also a little strange. It closes at 6pm. Sometimes I want to work at night looking out over the bay with some coffee — but the location is closed. Not sure if this is a good decision considering there isn’t anything else around the hotel. Might consider staying open late — the dessert place is so i think there would be plenty of business.

This is a pretty good Starbucks location. I visited this location each day I was in San Diego. This location gets pretty busy on convention mornings but they do a good job of ensuring adequate staffing and had a separate line for coffee only to speed things up. My only reason for knocking a star off is that I purchased breakfast wraps on two separate occasions that were too cold(frozen in the middle). The staff remedied the situation in each case but I was surprised when it happened two days in a row. Otherwise the group here does a pretty good job.

Never have I thought that one day I will write a review for starbucks. I can’t really drink coffee. Opposite to my coffee addict friends, I get a headache from drinking coffee! Also it’s Starbucks, what else does one want to know? However, my experience here must be documented. We got a complimentary voucher from Hilton for drink and pastry. We stopped in after checking out at around noon and there was a couple patrons inside. We got our drink in no time. I was ready to sip my frap as the warm welcoming San Diego sun awaits me. However, before I even had the chance to lick my whipped cream, I knocked over the drink entirely… I made a mess to say the least. Good thing they were very nice about it and even remade my drink for me! It might be silly, but the bay view, sunshine, and customer service definitely it a 5 star experience!
