The service was great. I drink a lot of water when eating and they were on point with the refills.

Had lunch there. Rolls during lunch come with salad and miso soup, making it a good deal and adequate amount of food. Staff was very friendly. Food was good. Fish and rice seem fine. I’d eat here again for sure.

Excellent new sushi place in the Scripps Ranch area. They have a nicer interior than SanSai had. Their specialty rolls are good portions with average prices. Some others on here have commented about their service being a little lacking but the few times I ate there the service was fine. We’d always be greeted upon entering and leaving and food comes out fairly quick. I ordered take out a few times as well and the food is usually ready in about 15 – 20 minutes. I haven’t had much of their hot entrees, but the chicken curry and baked salmon were just ok. A little different than I was expecting. Their rolls are really good though.

OVERPRICED and UNDERCOOKED Galbi This place is not worth the money! Called in 3 pick-up orders for lunch. When the orders came out, I opened the bags to check them and the female that brought out the orders asked me what I was doing?!? Excuse me, but I am making sure my orders are right seeing as I was on a 30 minute lunch break and had no time to come back if it was wrong! Everything looked ok, until I get back to work and proceed to cut into my Galbi. It was not fully cooked and was still moo’ing at me! I was so disgusted & to top it off still hungry I then call these people back and tell them I wanted a refund, the female on the phone had the gall to laugh at me and tell me to bring it back. WOW, un-effing believably the worst customer service I have ever had from this place! If there was a negative rating scale this place would get a NEGATIVE and not a 1! NEVERCOMINGBACKAGAIN… EATATYOUROWNRISK!!!

My family and I had a great time. First, the service was great. We were seated right away and the waitress wasted no time taking our orders. And of course, the food was excellent. The flavor and quality were spot on. My favorite was their Protein Roll, which is wrapped in cucumber instead of rice. The place was clean and all the staffs were nice. I will definitely be back!

I ordered some rolls by phone for takeout as SR Sushi would be closing about 15 mins after I ordered. When I arrived, I realized I could partake in the amazing happy hour sake that Realtor Karl B and other reviewers mentioned. I asked for two of the $.99 sake, which they explained as the same as a large. I assumed that the sake would be small enough I would be able to drink while waiting. They also brought edamame while I waited, which was just a couple of mins so I ended up just eating there. There was enough sake that I couldn’t finish in the 15 mins until close, but they asked me many times not to rush, that I should take my time. The chefs, hostess, and server were all so incredibly nice. And, the sushi! The sushi is amazing. I agree with other reviews regarding the general prices being a tad high, but they really were great rolls! Plus the $ 2 in sake was such a deal, it offset any higher cost of the sushi. I will be back! I loved this place! Thanks SR Sushi!

Make sure you come after 7pm to take advantage of their HH = 99 cent sake, 50% off draft beer(they only have Sapporo & Red Trolley), and 50% off macaroons(5 flavors). Prices are a tad high, but the quality was good enough for us. It wasn’t busy at all on a Friday night, so come here if you want to beat the crowds.

Their roll are creazy good, the happy hour deals on drinks are really convenient. Place is big so the wait is never too long. Wish they have deals for food too on happy hours, I would stop by more often. The hostess could learn a bit more about hosting, she looks too desperate, a bit pushy. But everybody else is great

First time dining here. Sorry to say we didn’t enjoy the food we ordered. Left the restaurant with weird taste in mouth. The worst teriyaki chicken I ever had. the sauce is very very thick and tasted like corn starch flavor. The tonkastu ramen is also very bland with only tiny pieces of meat(wish I took picture). The miso soup tasted watered down. Very disappointed dining experience. :(

When I first walked in I immediately noticed that the interior is much improved and way nicer than the SanSai it replaced. The menu has also expanded to provide a lot more options. The special rolls I’ve tried so far are fairly good quality and average about $ 13 a roll. The bento boxes range from $ 12 to $ 14 and come with a decent amount of food(meat, gyoza, tempura, salad). Although the chicken teriyaki kind of tasted a little bland. Service was also a little spotty as the server would forget to grab something we requested and on multiple occasions we had to ask twice after a delay. However, I give them a pass on this since they had just opened and were still new.

Came here for lunch. Got the $ 14 Sushi combo(8 pieces of sushi) and spicy tuna roll. The sushi was average. Nothing extraordinary. The rice was not of the right kind but I don’t expect much from cheap sushi anyway. Takowasa portion is really small. Service is amazing and efficient! This is a good cheap sushi place around Scripps Ranch.

I don’t know about you guys but this place is pretty crackin. The interior is very attractive, a big change from previous. There are many sushi rolls to choose from! There is a lot of variety to choose from. You won’t be disappointed. My favorite roll is the spicy crunchy tuna. It’s dank. The service was really good! Was served by Tina and couldn’t be any more satisfied. Thumbs up for good customer service, made my food taste even better. You guys better keep her. Parking is also a breeze. Give this place a try if you’re in the scripps area.

We just ate here for the first time and it was delicious. We were met at the door by a very attentive hostess. Our waiter quickly took our drink order and was very helpful in recommending menu items. We started with the vegetable tempura. It was perfectly cooked with crisp vegetables and not too much tempura batter. I had the salmon sushi combo and a Tornado toll. My wife had the teriyaki chicken combo. The salmon combo came with two pieces of salmon sushi, three pieces of sashimi, and a salmon roll. The salmon was fresh and delicious. The Tornado roll was perfect cooked and beautifully presented. The teriyaki chicken was good, but not great. It was mostly dark meat and a little fatty. The salad was wonderful. Overall we had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent. The sushi was delicious. I gave it four stars because the teriyaki chicken wasn’t perfect.

Service was slow and they charged my card twice. The draft beer glass was dirty and the beer was warm. I sent it back and they had the nerve to serve me the same glass. It went downhill after, as they were rude. DONTGO!

I’ve tried this place twice since it opened and both times it was really good! This place took over SanSai(which I was never really happy with that location, I eat at the Mission Valley one all the time and was the better one of the 2). The menu has a wide selection of sushi, along with Ramen, Japanese Curry, and Korean dishes like bulgogi(which I always try when I see it on a menu). The inside looks really nice, so far I’ve only done take out. VERY nice staff and food is pretty fast to make it out. I look forward to trying more dishes!

The place is super clean. We went in around 6:00 and they had $ 2 Sapporo specials! I had the tuna combo and my friend had the teriyaki chicken and a side of the beef. The tuna was really fresh and chicken was really tender. I was only visiting from out of town but wish I lived near this place. The staff was very friendly and attentive! I highly recommend eating here! High quality!

This is the new occupant of the space which formerly housed a branch of the SanSai chain, although I’m told that the owner was the SanSai franchisee. The menu has been greatly expanded, particularly with regard to the sushi offerings and they’ve done some remodeling to give the place a more open feel. I decided to go with the Teriaki Salmon, which comes with salad, rice and miso soup. The fish was more than ample in size and was well cooked but I found the sauce to be not as tangy as I would have liked. The folks working there all seemed quite nice.

This location used to be SanSai and now it’s become a sit down japanese /korean restaurant. They have a sushi bar, they offer a variety of sushi and have different combination plates. This isn’t a true japanese restaurants as the owners are korean(i think). the menu even have galbi. i decided to try out this place since there was a coupon for it in the coupon book and hopefully it’ll become a new favorite restaurant. i came here on saturday for lunch got it to go. I was surprised that they offered lunch special on a weekend. I ordered a 5 pcs nigiri plus a choice of California or Spicy Tuna roll lunch special for $ 11+ this meal came with a small side of salad and miso soup. The salad was fresh, no wilted greens. The miso soup was a bit watered down. The sushi, it was not bad. No fishy taste. i enjoyed the salmon one a lot be cause it was very fatty. My husband had an ordered of spicy chicken teriyaki combination plate that came with gyoza and CA roll. The Spicy Chicken Teriyaki was not good. There was not teriyaki flavor whatsoever. All we tasted was spicy. California roll was not the best i’ve had as well, it needed more flavor. The restaurant is clean and spacious when i went in to order. Overall the food was just okay. I will go back to give it a second try.
