I have been coming for many many years to Souplantation and have always enjoyed being able to eat almost as much as I want without feeling overly stuffed. That part still hasn’t changed much, but I think the food has somewhat. And the price of the buffet has increased of course. The quality isn’t what it once was, to me at least. Flavors are lacking across the board on their selections. It could be this location though. Some items were definitely out too long and on the drier side. Also had to wait at least 10 minutes for the guy to make the Asian wonton salad that I really like, and the place was relatively empty:/ I won’t stop coming but, I’ll probably go to the fletcher pkwy one instead next time. Still, it is a healthier food option than most other buffets and about $ 10 without beverage.

Me And my family showed up and it’s hard having a toddler in tow that can’t walk and not wanting to drag a stroller into a restaurant. So we were trying to figure out how to carry 2 trays and a toddler and the woman who rang us up grabbed one of the trays without me having to ask and asked us where we wanted to sit. Its these little things that make a meal and a restaurant a good experience…

Considering that we come here about once a week, it’s safe to say that both the food and service are great. The different monthly menus keep us from ever getting bored of the food but the friendly, helpful staff is definitely the main reason we keep coming back! Especially Theo and Edgar who always go out of their way to accommodate our sometimes-large group and are always all smiles.

Great place to grab a late lunch(up to 4PM). Salad selection is great, soup selection great, but side dish, and main course type food, limited, but that’s ok! You can’t beat the price…$ 8−9/lunch is great. You pay more than that at a fast-food place with 1 Million calories of fat!

A earthy/natural setting here does provide a relaxing experience while the tables stay full and noise level raised. Their rotating menu is worth the visit. The staff here does an excellent job at keeping up with cleanliness at the buffet and seating areas. The deals, though small, make a difference enough that it’s worth going for me.

They’ve done it! They’ve gone back to their five star ways! For several months my husband and i didn’t visit soup plantation the way we normally did. They had been having problems with icky dirty dishes, dirty tables, and food that just wasn’t that great(I’m talking about you, lemon flavored soup). But this month everything has changed. Asian noodles, creamy cheesy cauliflower soup, Asian ginger broth, and pineapple upside down cake that was AWESOME! They brought egg pieces back to the salad bar and have even given more lettuce choices. I was really bummed when I felt like this place was going down hill but having just gotten home from my second visit in two days, I can say that I feel like things have greatly improved.

Nice place but it was so hot inside the place. I started to sweat from the soup I was eating. The sun was beaming but it was cooler outside. Please turn up the AC. Thanks

I’ve always been a fan of Souplantation but this location is my FAVORITE! It doesn’t look like a fast food restaurant, instead, it looks like a steakhouse. I love going in for a relaxing lunch or dinner on weekdays and weekends. The service at this location is awesome and they always keep the place clean. I was really upset when they took away the chicken in their Wonton Salad but I got over that. If you like Souplantation, come to this location and check out the atmosphere.

It’s a chain restaurant so it’s nothing surprising. The salad bar is kept well stocked but if you’re trying to get a focaccia during dinner time be ready to fight for it, it always seems like the plates are empty when I try to get some so I spend half of my dinner staring and waiting for the guy to bring it. The ice cream station is always a mess with kids trying to get sprinkles on their ice cream so I always avoid that but it’s the best place to get a salad.

I really enjoy eating here. I come for lunch with my colleagues and we always have a great time, trying all the different salad combinations and soups. The desserts are also quite delicious. I like the quality as well as the quantity. I wish that they were more consistent with the types of soup that they serve. If there was a regular schedule for the customers to view, that would be particularly helpful. Sometimes I come and cannot find any of the soup that I like. This makes it a more disappointing trip. I particularly love the creamy tomato soup with the cornbread. I recommend it to anyone who comes here for the first time. The pastas leave something to be desired, but since they are not the main part of this experience, I do not spend much time sampling the pastas. The salad bar is excellent, diverse, and fresh! Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Souplantation are not all the same! I really don’t think it’s because I’m starving that day I ate here, but I’m pretty sure the food here is better. Maybe it’s an «on» day for them but the caliber of taste and cleanliness of the place is just better. Line wasn’t crazy out the door in this area too.

Out of the few Souplantations I’ve been to this one was my favorite! They never run out of anything and the food is always hot and fresh. I also like the wooden feel to the inside

This place is always cheap and great for salads and soup. It’s clean and the people there are always nice and very helpful! Especially with a 4 year old!!!

I love Souplantation, it always satisfies my tummy. My fave salads are the mandarin orange with chicken, their seasonal salads always hit the spot. Great soups & pizzas. This place was recently remodeled and I really like it. Quality food & a great value!

Love coming here for salad. My husband and son love their soups. Breakfast was nothing special and the eggs taste like powdered eggs. Only come for breakfast if you have coupons. It is not worth it otherwise.

Oh Souplantation, what happened to you? I used to be a regular at Souplantation. I loved the fresh produce, muffins, and soup. The produce just isn’t up to par. I have been to this location a few times and each time the lettuce was wilted, the mushrooms brown, and cucumbers look slimy. The chicken soup used to be great but they have definitely changed the quality of the chicken. It now has a gummy consistency which reminds me of fast food«chicken.» The dishes, cups and utensils are disgusting. There is a greasy film on every plate and the soup bowls have left over food on them. I gave this location a try 3x. I have officially given up and will not be back.

Only going to review the restaurant itself and not the food as it’s a chain and most people already know what to expect. The stars are for the food(always decent) and the busboy who kept stopping by to pick up dirty dishes. Side note: the pastas were old and overcooked. The restaurant was a mess, I’m sad to say. Several salad bowls were empty, there was no tomato(wait, what? no tomato at a salad bar??) and no eggs. The potato fixing station was covered in sour cream, bacon, and scallions and the soft serve station was disgusting. I dig the chain, but don’t think I’ll be going to this location again.

Souplantation is a great option for lunch or dinner. I go here a lot for lunch or after work, for dinner. There are so many options, which always means that you leave this place super full! I love the new options of being able to take your salad, soup or whatever you like with you, to go!!! The blueberry muffins and chocolate muffins are killer… You almost can’t stop eating them!!! I love all of the changes with the seasons. This is a great marketing tactic. As a vegetarian, it’s so nice to have so many vegetarian options! The only downside is that sometimes I feel like there is remnant left on the«clean» dishes. It’s almost as if you have to search for a clean dish to use… It’s kinda gross if you think about it… That’s the only reason I decided to give this place a 3.

I’ve been coming here for a while and I’ve noticed the new plates, cups, and silverware however I don’t think the food was as good as before. The salads didn’t seem that fresh and the premade ones were way over dressed. They have chocolate mint soft serve now. Service: They’re very friendly and fast. If you’re lucky they’ll hand out free cookies!

I’ll be Ripe back. See you next Thyme! Yes, but usually if we have a paper or online coupon. We always get seated towards their back dining room to accommodate the group size, since our dinner party including another family and some friends can range from 6 to 10. I think it’s a good idea to isolate our rambunctious toddlers from the rest of the common dining area and nearby food juggling foot traffic in the cafeteria. What’s nice is that the hardworking guys who oversee the tables are so friendly and helpful. Both are prompt about not letting dishes pile up when making their rounds. One of the guys is more soft spoken, but generously hooks it up with the cookies. The other guy is quite the character. I remember his jokes on a few occasions when he took notice of the rugrats, saying that they(the staff) could always use some help in the kitchen straightening up if we needed a relaxed dinner moment from the two youngsters who were finished eating and newly reenergized for playtime. It took me a moment to figure out, like when I’m trying to remember the name of a familiar movie/song, then I realized that he reminded me of a younger, cheerful Baileywick [ . Disney’s Sofia the First, anyone? I know, it’s an quirky reference, but the voice triggered the thought #dadlife This location got a little facelift since our last visit. Some pleasant décor changes, like a fresh coat of paint and they pulled the old carpet in favor of wood flooring. It’s a nice look. While not as spacious as their Point Loma-Midway or La Mesa locations, this cozy Mission Gorge spot does a fine job to serve the neighborhood locals as well as the nearby lunchtime regulars.
