Smashburger

Awful. Went in at 730 last night… Already closing? Had chairs on the tables, sections blocked off, and let’s not forget to mention the attitude of the employees. I’m sorry did you forget you are at work? Order took forever as well! Employees were in the back breaking plates and yelling OPA! I’d be so upset if I was the owner!
Such a bad representation of the brand. We very rarely go here and now we really won’t.

Extremely disappointed in the entire experience. I tried this place because a number of people told me it was good burgers and service.
SO wrong.
From the start the lady at the counter didn’t seem happy to be there, she spent more time talking to her co worker then me. No smiles or warmth at all. It was a slow night and yet my order took almost 30 min
I ordered a plain hamburger with some grilled onions and pickles and a side of the haystack onions because the cashier insisted they were excellent.
Not only did it take 30 min to receive my order, the burger was burnt and cold as were my onion rings
The two employees were more interested in flirting with some college boys in the corner that they didn’t notice me standing at the counter for almost 10 minutes
I got fed up and left. Headed to the Crab pot next door where the food was great and WARM and I got good customer service
Disappointed and won’t be back

My host was Sonya, I’ve ordered from her a couple of times and she’s very friendly and attentive. I’m a fan lol. I always order the spicy baja burger and buffalo fries. Never disappoints, probably in my top 10 favorite burger places. Added bonus is that it’s only a couple miles from my house. I’ll keep coming back if the customer service and food stay as good as they are. Only down side is the wait, but I guess that means the food is actually made to order.

The service is deplorable. Slow as molasses. I left 40 minutes after the time on my receipt, just for takeout.

Over the past couple weeks of me coming here to eat it has really improved with the customer service and with the timing of me getting my food. The cashiers are pretty great. My favorites are Peirce, Ashley and Sonya. They are always there to make sure I’m taken care of and have everything I need. Whatever this store has done to improve so much needs to keep it up. This is one of my favorite locations not only cause of how close I live but also the employees.

Food was not prepared as ordered, could not reach them by phone had to return to store 4.5 mi to get order done correctly..

I went to here last time N got the bacon bbq cheese burger for my husband. It took a while to get an order because the server in the kitchen and maybe she was cooking a hamburger too (I guessed) I bought it for to go, then my husband opened the bag and took the hamburger out it was like they cooked it a long time and the meat turned to charcoal. Sorry but I won’t never come back again.

You know… I can’t bail them out anymore. This place is TERRIBLE. I remember when I first moved to San Diego a few years ago. This was my regular spot right after class. Food was good. Service was good. Carey (short cashier) was one of the best workers I’ve ever encountered across all businesses. But everyone here was great and worked very hard. I was happy to be a regular.
Now, this place is just atrocious. My last few encounters have not gone well. The first one, they got my order wrong and felt no
compensation or repair needed to take place. Alright, fine.
The next time, I called ahead and NO ONE answered the phone. I was angry when I finally arrived. Before I made my order, I called while I was there. No one made an effort to answer the phone, and I watched them do nothing as it continued to ring. I sarcastically asked them: «Say, you guys gonna answer the phone?» The guy just looked at me like ‘what?’ As I showed him my iphone that was still calling the restaurant.
After that, I showed up at 9:45 just to get a milkshake. Yes, I know they close at 10. But it WASNT 10… And there were customers inside. I tried to open the door and it was locked. The customers looked at me and just looked at the staff. The staff tried to ignore me. I stood there as they told the customers to go out the side entrance, so they wouldn’t let me in. I was REALLY angry at this point, and decided that I needed to contact all of their managers about this terrible service. But I let it go.
Today, the girl and the guy seemed completely lost when I asked for a caramel milkshake with Oreo cookies in it. What’s worse is that the milk they used was SOUR. 5 bucks down the drain!
Smashburger, it’s been real. But you’re not even a shell of your former self anymore. You’re just BAD. Staff has gone from sugar to absolute crap and the service has gone to premium to fifth-​rate in a matter of months. Goodbye. Good riddens.

Though it wasn’t very good, they have a vegan burger! Also a couple other vegan options. Like the garlic fries. I appreciate that. The guy working that day was super friendly too. Food was fresh but way greasy.

Had dinner there last night. Ordered the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. Very pricey for what I got. Burger was raw so I sent it back. Next one was cooked properly. I’m no burger snob but there’s nothing good I can say about eating there. Why spend 12.00 $ on a meal that is just okay? No chance I’m going back any time soon.

They literally smashed my burger. Even i can make a better burger than this broken piece of crap. Waste of $ 10. My burger looked like it came out of burger king’s unwanted inventory

Ordered a standard burger with bacon and avocado. Reg fries, a drink and a shake.
Whole thing cost 17 and change. Over priced for what I got. Burger was alright. Fries are skinny and great. Shake was bomb. Took them 10 min to take our order when there was no one in line. They forgot my fries and shake. They seem under staffed.

Went in and they messed up our order by accident but they fixed it and let us keep the other order! Super friendly staff and I will definitely be returning soon!

Dec 27 6pm what is the point of ordering online if I have to ask you to make my shake? And my food is ready and you write my name on the bag but don’t bother calling my name when you see me waiting? Do I have to do your entire job for you? Grow up and put on your big girl pants when you come to work. You expedite poorly.

This was my second time here. The Truffle Mushroom and Swiss burger was one of the best mushroom burgers I have had in a while. The truffle mayo makes the burger. It reminds me of the truffle mayo at the burger bar in Las Vegas. Which is my favorite burger place. Would highly recommend. Both times I have been here has been for lunch during the week and they don’t seem to busy which makes this place nice for lunch.

This place is horribly disappointing. The only reason I’m giving this two stars is for the nice cashier. I ordered the avocado ranch veggie burger and veggie frites. The minute I walked out I tried one of the frites and they were completely soggy. I should’ve took that as a hint to check my food. I drove all the way home to find a completely dry burger. No avocado (which is the best part in my opinion) and no ranch.

Reaaaally fast and friendly people here. I work nearby and they let us place phone orders so we can use our ten minute break wisely, we really appreciate that.
The black bean burger is absolutely delicious. We order six burgers and it only took about 15 minutes or less.

I love this place! My favorite is the mushroom truffle burger. The onion rings are sooo good, thin sliced onions battered, served with a side of Chipotle mayo.

Go to the Mission Valley location — this location is seriously horrible.
This Smashburger always take a longer time, isn’t very friendly, and don’t cook as well as other Smashburger locations.
It’s close to my work and I called for pick-​up recently: «black bean burger San Diego style». Got back to my work and it was a hamburger patty. I’m vegetarian so I couldn’t eat that day. Called them and they said next time it was on them.
Next time I went, they didn’t even have black bean pattys! Didn’t offer any alternatives either.
So I came in about a week later and got the order and it was the sloppiest I had ever gotten. I always order nicely cause these people are handling my food. They literally pushed down on the burger. When they came out with it they said, «Here.» Which was a little rude.
Either way, it’s my last time going there. Rude staff, shitty service. I’ll go to Mission Valley since they are always friendly and helpful!

Fresh hamburgers and delicious fries! I especially like their Avocado Burger with bacon… plus their smash fries… Give them a try when you are in town.
