It’s been a year or so since I’ve been here but they are horrible. Scam students out of money! Not only do they try to force you to purchase contacts right then and there, the ‘doctor’ told me I had an astigmatism. I’ve never had an astigmatism and just got a new checkup from a great doctor who confirmed that I do not have an astigmatism. Guess what? Contacts for astigmatism cost more. The optometrist was rude and pushy. It may be convenient but take your business elsewhere!

First, I’ve never been to an optometrist that requires a deposit over the phone and I’ve been going to optometrists for 10 years. I found it odd since it is a school office. Second, the optometrist was so unpleasant that I wish I didn’t have to return for my follow up.(She didn’t continue my appointment because of a scratch in my eye). Couldn’t cancel the follow up appointment because I had already put a deposit down unless I wanted to lose $ 25 and I’m a student. can’t afford to lose money. Not looking forward to the next appointment.

I had accidentally come upon this service while searching for a provider of a particular brand of glasses. I have been going to State for two years now and had not realized that this clinic existed. But I am very glad that I had discovered it. Overall the service was great. The clinic is very small, there are only a few employees. But they still have a good selection of glasses and sunglasses to choose from. And because of their size they give very personal service. I was looking for a particular pair of glasses that they did not carry but they still ordered it for me, the optometrist made the call herself. So they were able to get me the frames in a timely fashion as well as give me the student discount for the frames.(Students get 25% off of everything, lenses, frames, contacts: and the visit was inexpensive as well). So definitely recommend to any SDSU student, especially if you are about to graduate, to take advantage of the deals before.

So far, this is one of the optometry place I go to. When I break my glasses by accident or when the screws are screwed up, I stop here. I havent use their services yet to get my eyes checked up but the people who work there are great. They take about 10 minutes to fix my glasses at no cost.

Upon my follow up exam for my contact lenses, the Optometrist was more friendly and personable. We actually chit chatted a bit and she seemed eager to answer any questions I had about my prescription or the products I was receiving. She must have been having a bad day before… or a good day today. Maybe she got laid, who knows.
