I met with Shirley and instantly loved her personality. She really does have an eye for for special event decorating and made me feel comfortable to put my trust in her. I want to throw more parties! You should be realistic when choosing someone to provide the décor for your event, whether it be a wedding or birthday or whatever… it’s not going to be cheap! Does that mean they can’t work with a budget, no, but don’t be surprised when the vision you have for your event isn’t aligned to the right budget.

SD Event Décor is absolutely AMAZING! Thank you to Shirley, Dave and their crew for their countless hours of hard work and attention to detail to make my vision a reality! The flowers and décor for my wedding day was everything that I imagined it to be and then some. Everything down to the last detail was elegant, classy and simply GORGEOUS! SD Event Décor did an amazing job transforming the Admiral Kidd Club’s outdoor venue and indoor reception room into something more upscale for our wedding in October 2012. Every vision I had, Shirley & David made into a reality! Be advised, if you want similar results, it isn’t cheap and it takes time so if you are a frugal bride(not a bad thing) and or short on time I don’t recommend working with them. If you are like me, and have a horribly decorated venue that needed lots of help and don’t mind paying for it then this is your company! They were very professional and worked directly with the venue manager even though they(Admiral Kidd staff) were very difficult to deal with. **Take away** You must be a patient bride and groom and be willing to let them be artists to get the best results as it is just the two, David & Shirley, of them running the business. Need to improve: Communications e.g. timely responses even if it is «I’m working on it, I will get back to you» Nerves catch brides and grooms out when we get close to the wedding so as much communication as possible is key to keeping them happy!

Let me guess, the previous review was by someone that had never planned a large event. Otherwise, they would know that any reputable company would not list generic prices because so much has to do with the quality of what you are requesting. An event can be for a small group or up into the thousands, plain or fancy and anywhere in between. Frequently, there are discounts for ordering a large quantity, is it to be installed or just delivered, who will be responsible for it and so many other factors? Having planned large events and worked with this company, I see no insult in the response. The most important part of planning an event is knowing what you want and being willing to continually repeat it correctly to ensure that the quotes and services requested are correct. If you are just going to a rental location, well they can easily quote prices but a professional event company does so much more and can handle most aspects of the event plan. I will continue to work with this company, expecting and getting professional service. I hope that readers who do understand event planning are willing to consider using them. I have always found them to be helpful, professional and have great ideas for my events.

I recently got married and hired San Diego Event Décor to design the florals, provide linens, and lighting for my wedding… and I couldn’t be happier with the results! I was referred to this company by my reception venue(along with a couple of others) and immediately emailed David and Shirley with my ideas for colors and flower preferences. As far as price listing, this is not the only company that does not list prices. All the other ones I checked out were the exact same way. First you make an appointment, after filling out your preferences, to talk about your vision. What’s so great about SDED is that they met me at my venue and I was able to visualize their ideas as well as explain my own. And AFTER we met, they emailed me with a proposal that outlined very specifically the prices for each floral arrangement, etc. I agree that the first reviewer has no experience planning large events(and neither did I before my wedding), because depending on the season and types of flowers for the arrangements, the prices are significantly varied. If you choose a florist based on price lists, you will probably be disappointed because those are only estimates. Compared to proposals I received from other companies, their prices were reasonable and their level of service and dedication to making my wedding beautiful made the decision to hire them very easy. Shirley and David were very flexible when I changed my mind several times about what I wanted to do. And they also advised me when it came to event décor that I was absolutely clueless about. I would recommend this company to anyone planning any kind of event, personal or professional. They were punctual, accommodating, creative and prepared for anything!!! And they truly care about their clients… which I think is a rare but wonderful quality :)
