Dr. Schaeffer was a good doc for my first visits and procedures. She seemed empathetic, friendly, and easy to talk to. At an appointment a year later she retracted her diagnosis as my symptoms had decreased. I thought that was through my own diligence and hard work.
I also told her something about current experiences and she dismissed them laughingly. I know the problems I was experiencing were not normal for me, but she insisted it was normal anyway. I know how my body reacts to things and how it was before I got sick. I don’t need some doctor to tell me I am wrong when I KNOW I am right.
Luckily, my insurance has changed and I won’t be required to see her again. I would ask for a different doctor, in fact a different group, if I were you.
As for the group itself, I had a six month follow-​up and cancelled it several days earlier telling them I had a new insurance and would not be a patient there. A week later I received a bill for a «no show.» I had to call their financial office and they did take care of it. At least someone cares.
I also had problems on two occasions when I asked for an appoitment at the Chula Vista office and instead — to my surprise — they expected me at the San Diego office. Incompetance.
Overall, a poor customer experience for one that started out so well.

STAY AWAY! These people are a disgrace!
This was the worst experience I’ve had in my life! I was referred to San Diego Digestive Disease by my primary care doctor. I arrived in time and paid my co-​pay. I was sent a bill later claiming that my Co– pay had been raised and i owed another $ 10. Let me say that my initial visit went well and i would be happy to make my bill right even though this was not my error.
Now comes the time to get my results. I call the day before and I’m told that i must schedule another appointment too get any results. I figured it must be bad news if they couldn’t just give me the results of my CT over the phone. I complied and returned only to be told that there is nothing wrong in less than 10 minutes. Again they are the professionals so i just go on about my day.
A month later i get a bill for the follow up appointment. I immediately call to get clarification and reach an extremely rude billing representative named «ovi» and he tells me that i have to pay or I’m going to collections. When i attempt to get clarification he cuts me off and keeps repeating that I’m going to collections. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said NO before hanging up. I called back and got another representative. I immediately asked for the supervisor in order to avoid an argument. The lady puts me on hold and comes back with ovi. At this point ovi raises his Voice once again before hanging up. I repeatedly called back in attempt to speak to the manager only to be given excuse after excuse.
Forward 1 business day and i receive a letter explaining that the doctor will not see me any longer. Obviously this is ok since i would never put my life in these people’s hands. However, i have never been treated like this especially after surviving one of the scariest life saving surgeries of my life. Do yourself a favor and avoid Dr. Politoske like your life depends on it, because it does!

I’ve seen two doctors here, Dr. Snyder and Dr. Koshini. Dr. Koshini is a win for sure, I saw five doctors previous to him and was disappointed every time. Koshini actually listened to what was wrong and was the most proactive. Great bedside manner too.

This group for some reason does not accept cash paying patients, even if you pay in full on day of service! NEVER heard of a doctor NOT accepting cash payment in full. The second the secretary on the phone found out I was an uninsured, cash-​paying patient, she told me“good luck” and hung upon me! What horrible service. I recommend you AVOID San Diego Digestive Disease Consultants.
