Sally Stipho, MD

For a procedure today I was lucky enough to be assigned to Dr. Stipho as my attending physician. She was great !!
She was also fully prepared to take any tissue biopsies, remove intestinal polyps on the spot, and instilled TOTAL confidence that I’d made the right decision coming here (San Diego Endoscopy Center).
I was totally blown away that upon waking up in Post-​OP, a written report of findings from my procedure was waiting for me…
I highly recommend her.

friendly, explains well, pro active on tests and diagnosis. the place is quite busy and takes awhile to get an appointment. her nurse is very nice also.

I went through two other Gastro Doctors before I saw Dr. Stipho. She knew that I was only seeking a third opinion on my situation (I have Ulcerative Colitis) when we first met. She reviewed my case and was able to give me a personalized treatment plan tailored to my needs. She even gave me alternate plans in case I felt her primary plan was too aggressive. Wow. A doctor that valued my opinion.
Dr. Stipho provided me with a lot of answers and I felt comfortable enough to have her as my gastroenterologist was in my best interest and I’m glad I made that change.
I have been a patient of hers for about 6 years now and I have definitely found a quality doctor that always is researching my case (I have other illness and obstacles) with other colleagues of hers because of my unique situation. My appointment with her can easily last at least 15 minutes. She is VERY thorough and is not only focused on my Gastro issues but my complete well being.
I feel Dr. Stipho goes above and beyond the call of a medical doctor. One time I was hospitalized for pneumonia at Scripps Mercy and Dr. Stipho came over to just to visit me (Her office is located across the street) just to see how I was doing. She went out of her way to visit me while I was in the hospital even when it wasn’t a GI issue. That made me feel great!
I cannot review Dr. Stipho without mentioning her nurse Jane. Jane is Dr. Stipho’s right hand and takes care of the paperwork, scheduling and I’m sure a host of other things for Dr. Stipho. Jane is very warm, professional and at the same time, down to earth and jokes around, well with me anyways. :) I cannot tell you how many messages and how many favors Jane has done for me in the last 6 years.
I would recommend Dr. Sally Stipho to anyone that has gastro issues.
She really does care and because GI issues can sometimes be embarrassing to say the least, I have never felt awkward when talking to her.
