Rick Wilson is a throwback to old world craftsmanship. What Rick specializes in, is redoing your Condo, be it a kitchen or a bathroom, or anything else you need. I say specialize because its a real art to remodel/re-design something say a kitchen while the owner is still home. I’m a board member at one of the condos downtown and when any job is submitted by Rick we/I feel comfortable that it is going to be done right. In fact I feel so comfortable with his work I had him do my kitchen. The only advertisement Rick does is word of mouth and he is continuously busy just working downtown remodels. You generally have to book him about three months in advance to get on his schedule, but once you do you know he’s going to keep it. Case in point my neighbor got a bid for some work on her condo from Rick. Rick told her he could do the work but would have to wait about three months until he could get to it. Thinking that was too long she hired someone else who could ‘get to it’ sooner. Well the other Contractor started sooner but they kept coming back and forth and didn’t finish the job when they said they would, and she ended up paying almost twice what she would have with Rick. Since Rick is a small independant Contractor he does most of the work by himself so he has low overhead, and he’s in total charge of the completion date. Rick loves his job and does it for the art not the money. He’s also from Canada and has a cool accent. Even the Condo association I’m with hires Rick whenever we have a job that he will take, because his work is impeccable and he is very affordable. My only suggestion would be to treat him with respect so that he will work for you. When Rick does work you feel like your part of the family and that he will put in the extra bit of labor to make sure the job is done right and that your totally happy with it. I“m writing this review just because I think its important that really, really, good contractors get out there. Interesting fact Rick doesn’t even have business cards, only word of mouth. Now thats what I call old school! If you do use Rick for something make sure you Unilocal him, unfortunately most of his clients tend to be older who don’t Unilocal much.
