Best Mexican food in San Diego. Really great, quality ingredients and great owners. I’ve had a variety of different things here and it’s always spot on. Also the best hot sauce in the universe. If you don’t believe me, you should try it!

Carne asada burrito was huge and delicious. I ordered pick-up on the Eat24 app and it was ready in record time. The décor isn’t fancy or trendy or anything, but I would go back for the food, no question.

This place is amazing! I haven’t had carne asada fries in years but was having a horrible day and decided I deserved to have them! I randomly chose Ray’s cuz I live nearby and holy moly! Their food is incredible! My friend got a California burrito and also kept raving about how delicious it was. Their salsa was amazing too. This is officially my go-to taco shop now! So delicious!

Here’s why 4 stars. It was good it was fast friendly service and for San Diego it was cheap. For a little strip mall on a busy street it was clean and just fancy enough. My husband would have drank the hot sauce if he could have gotten past the weird of it. We had a carne asana quesadilla, fish taco and a chile relleno. Would have it again

The best food — Ray’s is family owned and they are really nice people that make consistently excellent food. My fav thing there is their carne asada burrito, add a lot of cilantro, cook meat med. rare. result: Perfection! They also have amazing salsas! Ray’s food is made with high quality ingredients– never greasy– the tortillas are nicely warmed to a perfect finish and texture. I never have that feeling after eating their food– like ’ oh. I’m stuffed from fast Mex food… rather, I am totally satisfied tonight after having just ½ of my burrito. A well deserved 5*****! and they deliver! Thank you Ray’s, you are labomba! ;)

The food was bland and cold when it got to me, and now I’m dealing with food poisoning. Would not recommend.

I was in San Diego on business and didn’t feel like going out after work, so I looked up who delivered to my hotel on Unilocal.Ray’s had good reviews so I gave them a shot and so glad I did. The shrimp tacos were incredible and much bigger that I thought they would be. The fish burrito was also very big and very tasty. I actually ordered too much food, but the leftovers were great reheated for breakfast! The delivery was fast, it came with a selection of sauces, plenty of napkins, forks, and even paper plates. I’ll definitely get Ray’s again the next time I’m in town!

Pros: Easy parking, lots of choices, reasonable prices. The food was just ok. Not sure how they have 4 stars when there’s so many great Mexican restaurants in San Diego.

I am so impressed! I had Ray’s delivered thru my Eat24 app, which we are completely addicted to. The food that was delivered was absolutely delicious! We ordered some Carne Asada Burrito’s, which my boys are picky about, so lots of extra details in how they want them, they arrived perfect and LOADED with meat and real cheddar cheese which was fantastic. I ordered just a couple of the Crispy Beef Tacos. OMG There was so much cheese and meat piled high in the tray. Then, seriously, an entire avacado sliced for two tacos. It was all so fresh and delicious. The guy who delivered it was very nice and full of energy and helpfullness. Another fantastic find from EAT24!!! Thank you Ray’s…so happy to have found you so close by!

I’m a fan! This spot is nestled between an amazing laundromat and a Chinese restaurant. There was a bit of a wait at the counter before someone came to take my order, but when my carnitas burrito arrived, I was quite pleased. Chock full of tender, tasty meat and creamy guacamole. The menu is pretty big and the prices are fair. Dining in is basic = multiple cafeteria-style tables. If you’re interested in some Mexican cuisine, head on down to Ray’s!

Their delivery time is outrageous. I work for a small mom and popa pizza joint and there’s no way this would be acceptable. Going on an hour now.

Ray’s Mexican Food SD North Park 1pm Thursday 14th January 2016 Four Stars How I miss Mexican Food from California. I had two crispy shredded beef tacos with a side of rice and beans($ 8). The shell was freshly fried to crispy perfection. The shape was more of a «V» than a «U». The beef was savory, tender, and delicious. The lettuce was fresh but the tomato was a bit tired. The thick shredded cheese was lovely. The rice was soft and flavorful and beans were light and almost creamy. The chips were crispy and thin. Overall enjoyable Mexican food.

The service is pretty fast and they are very kind. They don’t make you feel rushed to choose and they are actually helpful with the menu, unlike some hole in the wall Mexican restaurants. When we ordered California burritos they offered potato or French fries which is a rare courtesy! The Tamale Supremo is really Supreme! Huge and delicious ! It fills you up like a burrito and is really moist and flavorful. Usually tamales have dry corn masa, but it was delicious even if you took out the yummy pork. Hands down the best tamale I’ve ever had! The place is very clean too!

Food is 3 stars which is good for being delivered, and the added star is the fact that they deliver! Such a plus for my lazy-gimme some fries pronto-self. We were given a 60 – 75 minute window for delivery via eat24/Yelp, but the food arrived in 40! We tried the carne asada tacos, beef rolled tacos, carne asada fries, chicken quesadilla, and a side of chips and salsa, guacamole, and the spicy carrots — all of this was only $ 10/person(including tip) and we had so much left over! I would recommend any and all of it. We were surprised that the fries were still so good even though it was delivered. Definitely now my go-to place for Mexican delivery!

I was looking for a quick bite at 9pm so I quickly looked for a place on Unilocal while my girlfriend was driving. Unilocal pointed us to this place, so we made a quick, but legal u-turn and wound up here. At 9pm on a Wednesday, the place wasn’t hopping but there are plenty of tables in the restaurant. The staff was very attentive and I decided to try one of those california burritos. Even with the first bite, whoa, I was surprised! The bite was flavorful, firm, yet nicely chewy through the tortilla. The tortilla was really fresh. I asked my girlfriend where anyone gets a fresh tortilla at 9pm on Wednesday. I guess Ray’s is the place. The carne asada, guac, cheese, sour cream, and fries were really really tasty. I kept asking my girlfriend how and why this burrito tasted so good even after I finished. I was expecting just something to fill me up for a late night snack, but Ray’s Mexican Restaurant did me one better. From one Ray to another Ray, thanks!

I enjoyed a great bowl of red menudo from Ray’s on a early Sunday morning before the start of the NFL game of the day. The soup came with three warm corn tortillas and condiments for the menudo for $ 8. The soup arrived piping hot and came with a good amount of tripe and hominy. The tripe was chopped to form good edible portions and the hominy was of the yellow variety with the husk semi removed which I like very much. The soup had a great rich red orange color brought on by the red dried chili peppers which gave the soup a great flavor but very little spice. Not to worry however, because part of the condiment tray included a couple of hot salsas which also provided some great flavor. I add all the chopped cilantro and onions that came in the side and added some dried oregano, a few squirts a fresh lime juice and bam! I was ready to dig in. I used the corn tortillas to not only dip into the soup, but also make some tripe tacos with a little added salsa. It’s not doubt an acquired taste which I acquired as a young boy. Service at Rays is super friendly and if you get a chance to talk to the Mexican lady in the kitchen who makes all the food, you’ll learn that she is a down to earth friendly person and great cook.

Mexican food that delivers on Sunday’s? dope. Quality is good. Free delivery over $ 20. My main gripe is that my CA burrito was incorrectly wrapped. Each bite only contained one ingredient lol… Starting off the meal with a mouthful of sour cream was the worst.
