Gotta check out their legendary margaritas. Ask for the bartender alex, he makes a mean top shelf margarita. He is great company. I recently lost my job and I came in here for a margarita to forget my worries. After talking to alex for ten minutes I completely forgot about my worries. The top shelf and alex I was in heaven. Needless to say UNOs is am amazing place to meet cool people. For me it was a strapping young gentlemen by the name of alex.

So yeah I’m from Chicago and I ended up eating here. We were all in Fashion Valley mall, it was rainy and we were hungry. This is just like all other Pizzaria Unos I’ve eaten at in Chicago. Good service, clean restaurant, decent food. One oddity however. .. When ordering a quesadilla. .. Why would you cut it into THREE pieces? Why not four? Make sure you request it cut in four if that’s how you want it, they will do it on request. When we asked they said the reason they do it that way was because corporate told them to. .. I think corporate needs to rethink that. .. This only works if there’s three people there. Other than that though we had a deep dish pizza with cheese, garlic and sliced tomatos. Awesome stuff!

I have been here numerous times because deep dish pizza is my favorite style of pizza. Now, I have never been to Chicago, but so far, I find Pizzeria Uno to be my favorite place for deep dish pizza with Lefty’s a close second. In all the times I’ve been here I have only had ONE disappointing pizza where they obviously did not cook it long enough & the crust was slightly undercooked & on the ‘doughy’ side. Unfortunately for me it was on a take-out order & I did not discover it until I got home — something I am sure they would have made right had I been dining in. But that is ONE bad experience in 20+ visits. Service has always been friendly & helpful both when ordering out as well as eating in. If I didn’t live 20 minutes away I’d be getting pizza here twice as often as I do.

I don’t typically write reviews for places that I’ve only been once, but I think if you throw up and have awful heartburn all night, it deserves a review.(And I wasn’t the only one that felt sick.) I love love love pizza, heck I flew to New York just for a Pizza TOUR. I’ve generally heard good things about Unos and I was craving some deep dish. Unfortunately, the crust tasted like cardboard(but the good thing about it was the extra cheese they put on it.) $ 18.95 for a «medium» pizza that is suppose to serve 2 – 3 people(definately 2, maybe not 3) doesn’t seem worth it. They did have a large menu of other items which seemed cool but I am sorry, I will not be back.

The real Chicago style deep dish is always my favorite. And I got to have it at San Diego, what a blessing! We enjoyed our pizza alot and my husband felt that it was the best meal he had in California during our whole trip. It’s the real deal deep dish crust, not like those who tried to immitate. I had the same Pizzeria Uno Chicago Bar & Grill when I was in Chicago too, so I knew it was the same as what I got in Chicago. I recommend this to everyone who craves for real Chicago deep dish in California. Since a deep dish pizza is heavier than a thin crust, we ordered an individual size and we were both filled satisfactorily already by sharing it.

This was my first experience with deep dish pizza. I was a little hesitant beforehand because I’m a NY pizza guy and didn’t really feel like I should be eating pizza with a fork. However, this place changed my mind. I ordered the classic chicago style pizza and it did not disappoint. It was delicious. The crust which is always the best part of the pizza was crispy and flavorful. I couldn’t stop eating it, which turns out to be a problem after you find out how many calories are in these pizza’s. The staff was friendly and attentive. All in all it was a good experience. I wouldn’t recommend eating here on a regular basis unless you want to end up looking like an overweight mid-westerner but for the deep dish experience this place is great.

I stop here this past weekend with a friend, after an afternoon of shopping around Fashion Valley. I was pleasantly surprised, the service was really nice, very important for me & the food was really good. We had the buffalo wing(boneless) very tasty, mmmm, & the farmer’s market pizza is a must try, let me put it this way, it had eggplant & I really don’t like(unless is baba ghanoush), and I loved it!!! I don’t know about the rest of the menu but the tables next to us had pizza also and they all looked as delicious as ours. So give this place a chance…

The mall this is in is really nice. The Unos is a disaster. Immediately, two of us had dirty silverwear. The service was sooo slow. I think I paid $ 17 for a lobster wrap«New England Style» and it was like… all lettuce. I know I’m not on the East Coast and should have known better, but I needed my lobster roll fix. Annoyed. I expected more from something in this mall! Overall, though, this restaurant always has a really large menu, and the food is usually good. Esp the salads.

Ever been to Chicago? If you haven’t, it’s one of those cities that is a must before you die. I really like Chicago, in fact, I’ve been there a few times and every time I go, I MUST have their deep dish pizza! So since flights to Chicago aren’t exactly cheap for me to just go and get deep dish pizza, Uno’s was the cheaper alternative. And since California is lame and doesn’t really like Uno’s, they closed more than half of their chains and/or converting some to Miller’s Field restaurant(boo!!!) Fortunately, we found one at the Fashion Valley mall. I haven’t been to this particular location in over 4 years so I was thrilled to see it was still up and running. Honestly, I was craving their Honey Crisp chicken salad, ever had it? No? It’s a MEAL! When you think of salads, you think of this dainty thing with lettuce, but this is NOT a healthy salad, lol. The portions are huge! Oh and I LOVE their Mango iced tea as well! So when we came here for dinner, I was very happy. I used to eat at Uno’s all the time in college since it was down the street from my apartment and they accept the Student Husky meal card! SCORE! It brought back a lot of memories, especially of the one where my husband helped me moved into my new apartment and we came here for dinner with a few friends. So this is what we ordered… To start: Buffalo wings plate 1) regular buffalo wings flavor 2) garlic buffalo wings flavor 3) Sam Adams summer ale flavor My plate: Honey Crisp chicken salad with mango iced tea Hubby’s plate: Cobb salad with a few beers Uno’s, stay strong and don’t back down! I’ll be devastated if you ever closed down all your chains in California!

I was de-virginized from Uno’s pizza when I lived in San Francisco, and a coworker took me there for the first time. Nothing but deliciousness. Unfortunately, the Uno’s locations in the bay have since closed, and I have moved to LA. This Uno’s in Daygo is the closest one to me, and honestly, my homegirl and I had an Uno’s craving one night, and did a quick road trip out to Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego. Had a slice of the deep dish pepperoni, and I was in instant heaven. I do love me some deep dish, but I’ve been curious about their thin crust. Oh how I wish I could one day to go Chi-town and just have deep dish pizzas all the time! haha. I’d probably overdose, and never want another deep dish pizza again. Then again, I digress. *dramatic pause* the end. P. S. It’s a Pepsi World at Pizzeria Uno’s…but they have ginger ale!

GOTTAGETINFORTHELUNCHSPECIALS! I have been to the Fashion Valley Mall tons of times and this was my first time going to Uno’s! I walked right in and was seated with a quickness! The waitress was very friendly and informed us of the special lunch that end at 3pm! There are some really great specials and you need to get here before 3pm to try them! I ended up having the soup and salad combo! The Veggie Soup is so tasty and I could have eaten a HUGE vat of it! My brother and cousin seemed to enjoy the food and practically licked their plate clean! If you are at the Fashion Valley Mall and HATE waiting in lines at Cheesecake and PF Changs, don’t forget Uno’s is right there too and the food is good too!

What you need to know: — Located inside Fashion Valley mall for convienent eating and shopping = + 1star — The crust, the crust, the crust! It’s delcious, a bit flakier and almost pastry-ish = + 2 stars alone for that one! — The pizza: one medium four cheese and one medium buffalo chicken pizza, split amongst 4 people, left us stuffed and happy = +2 stars. — The restaurant is a bit small, but there is an outdoor patio seating area with heat lamps, but still, too small = –1 star(PB location is bigger) — Sometimes the wait for a table can suck the big nut. = –1 star Grand total: 3 stars = A-OK. I will definitely be coming back just for that crust! And maybe try other things on the menu, they’ve got a pretty extensive menu. =)

I love this place! I’ve been dining at Pizzeria Uno in Fashion Valley for the past 15 years and have never had a bad experience there! The best thing to get(in my opinion) is their deep dish pizza! The crust is so flaky and buttery & crunchy all at the same time! The best deal is their lunch special, Monday thru Friday till 3pm you can get a «personal» pizza(more than enough to eat, I usually take ½ of it home) and unlimited soup(they always have about 5 – 6 soups) or salad for about $ 9. Hard to go wrong with this, and they have the usual meats(I like the bbq chicken) and veggie toppings. Oh, and even though the menu says that you only get a certain type of pizza on each day, you can actually choose any of the 8 or so varieties you like! So if it’s Pepperoni day and you’re a Sausage fan, just ask for what you want! Another comment, the last 3 – 4 times I’ve dined here, the service has been great, friendly, knowledgable and attentive servers, so refreshing when the norm is having to set your hair on fire to get anyone’s attention! Haven’t had any issues at this place, next time you’re at the mall, check this place out!

I have never been to Chicago but have tried Chicago style pizza a few times. So I’m not a Chicago Pizza expert. But I just know what I like and don’t like. Overall, this place is just ok. I heard about this place and since I was in San Diego on a day trip, I decided to give this place a try. To be honest, I was quite disappointed. I arrived at the mall and parking was horrendous. It was like bumper to bumper traffic. I finally parked and it was kinda hard finding the place. But eventually, I found it somewhere hidden in the back. We got seated fairly fast and the service was adequate. The selection is pretty good too. But the quality of the pizza was just so-so. The taste is just eh. I felt it was missing something. I couldn’t pinpoint it exactly. Maybe it needs a little extra sweetness to is. I’m not sure honestly. But it just was eh. It’s not very cheap either. I think it could be priced better. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon. I have had better pizzas in my days. It just didn’t taste that great.

Rated #1 healthiest chain restaurant by Health Magazine??? Someone must have been bribed big time. That said, I like the pizza here. Not a big fan of the other items. Food: I didn’t know I’d be going to a themed restaurant when we decided to go to Uno. The theme? FAT. Take for example our appetizer, the Chi-town tasting plate( ). This thing was loaded with all the fried favorites including fried mozzarella sticks, hot wings, deep fried onion, fried chicken, and french fries. They provide three dipping sauces in jalapeño horseradish, marinara, and bleu cheese. It was like eating fat drizzled in fat. Mmm. The platter was delish, but my desire for unhealthy food diminished pretty quickly. You pretty much have to get the deep dish pizza if you come here. We tried the buffalo chicken( ) which had super buttery and bready crust. I ate as much as my body permitted. Then, in a lame attempt to be somewhat healthy, I tried the seasonal roasted veggies( ). This dish not only looked sad, but tasted awful. The veggies were stone cold, not roasted, and had some sort of weird sandy texture to it, like they weren’t washed properly. Way to ruin a pleasant experience… Atmosphere: This place looks like a giant bar that serves food. I did appreciate the heat lamps in the patio area. It was fairly frigid(by San Diego standards) outside, but I didn’t feel a thing thanks to the power of infrared radiation. Also, I think I heard someone inside announce that it was karaōke night. Perhaps this was just wishful thinking on my part as I didn’t hear any singing after that. Service: Good. Not much else to share. Synopsis: I loved the pizza, but am terribly skeptical of the claim that this place is healthy. Seriously, what the cuss was up with those vegetables? If I ever come back, I’m bringing some Benefiber with me and staying far away from anything that isn’t fried or soaked in butter.

The only gripe preventing this from being five stars was the fact that one of our orders of fries(we had three different entrees rotating) was at room temperature when it got to our table. Compared to another entrée dropped off a minute later, we easily noticed the difference. Ok, and they’re a Pepsi establishment. That being said, I LOVE this place. I live for deep dish happiness. Their healthy options are beyond what most other chains even think about. Soup, salad and appetizer lists are impressive. You certainly have an abundance of tastes that can be pleased here. Even sections devoted to chicken, pasta, and seafood. Then again, they were named America’s #1 Healthiest chain restaurant by Health Magazine. I kid you not. I will find myself ordering twice as much food in the future. Pizza will be half finished and come home with me. Pizza skins, soup or salad will be on permanent rotation.

If i remember correctly the crust was better before at the PB location, before it closed. The first time i ate at Uno, I remember thinking how buttery and crispy the crust was. Like a dense croissant, it was not at all like I remembered. The Food: Ordered the«número uno» the works pizza. When it arrived it was runny, wet, and the crust was soggy. Blah! After eating the 2nd slice it was better. Guess once it cools down the juices from the ingredients stop running off or evaporate. But still the crust was not as buttery and light as i remember it to be. The service: Our waiter was nice but paid no attention to detail. We were finished and the manager came by and boxed our uneaten pizza to go. We were clearly done, take out bag ready to go, water bone dry; Only then did the waiter check back on us to see if everything was okay. Then he asks if i want more water? I declined because I thought he would bring us the check and we would be leaving soon. but no… we sat around(thirsty) because he could not figure out that we were done. Plates empty, water dry, pizza pan gone and replaced with a take out bag? hmm… Verdict: Don’t do it! Advice: If you do go here, i think the secret is to let the pizza cool a bit before digging in and possibly get a pizza with fewer ingredients so that its less soggy. *check out my list of pizza places*

The pizzas and cheese sticks are D’lish!!! I love deep dish pizza and this place has it down. Ive tried a few things off the menu and it wasn’t bad, but not great either. Stick with the pizza and you ll be happy. * Note the 4 stars are for the pizza & cheese sticks and nothing else on the menu :)

I dig the vibe. It was casual and chill. Sports playing on the tv screen everywhere you possibly need or want it. We ordered that one appetizer with like onion rings, fries, chicken wings and some more chicken wings, and mozzarella sticks. I loved the fries! But don’t I always. The onion rings were great as usual. As for the chicken… ehhh…it was sooo salty. We ordered pizza, duh. It’s your standard pizza until you get to the crust. I say it’s pretty good. But boy does it stuff you easily! I can usually down like…3 or 4 slices of pizza. I ate 2 and I was dyyyinnnngggg. I didn’t get to eat at the dessert places they were raving abount. :[ It’s going to be awhile before I’m back in SD too. Darn it.

Aww Mace– you beat me to it. But my review is going to be better. Muhahahahah.(j/k. you know I *heart* you) — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Met up with Mace, Anna, Jeanna, and Nick here tonite… we were just going to get drinks, but we all lagged(we planned to meet at 6:30, but ended up there at 8). Anthony our server was really nice. I asked what their best fruity drink was, and he recommended the Wild Berry Lemonade(which had 2 kinds of Stoli– whatever that is). We ordered 2 sampler platters and the crab and shrimp fondue… they were alright. After downing 2WBL’s, I was as «high as an eagle… into the sea… fly like an eagle… FLYYYYYY» Anthony– thank you for giving me your number. Jeanna was too embarassed/drunk to ask for it. :) — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - Sidenote: Sorry to all the people I drunk txted that received the same msg 3 – 6 times. My phone is whack.
