Phantom Lounge

25 $ for a shitty hookah?! I went to OB hookah lounge and was told to come to phantom because they packed better bowls. Worst mistake ever. This place is on cloud 9 and way overpriced. Not worth it.

Been coming here for a year now and can say this is my go to lounge. The bowls are good, prices are fair too. Customer service is great too, response to orders is always fast.

I’m a 14 year hookah smoker who has been to a couple dozen hookah joints. So I do know what to expect from quality lounges. I’ve read the reviews, so I entered cautiously. It was 530pm on a Tuesday. There were 8 customers around h the lounge, and what looked like 3 employees. 1 guy manning the register and 2 girls in the «back». This is what I experienced:
Pros: they pack a good bowl. Clean hookahs. Good flavor for Starbuzz «pumpkin pie».
The guy behind the register responded promptly to my order, and other requests («you need to restock the toilet paper in the bathroom»).
Pricing is nice. $ 15 hookah normally. $ 10 during happy hour.
Cons:
Garbage! I took two steps and kicked a plastic bag (which I promptly picked up and put in a can). I piece, ok, but there were many other bus of trash found on the main floor, about the booths (in couch cushions, and on top, next to the windows.) During a busy night ok, but not at 530p, when the place is less than ¼ full.
Seating. The couches /​booths are uncomfortable wood benches with 1 inch memory foam, with many burn holes in them. Our you could grab a hard, metal
Folding chair, when the relatively sparse seating is gone. And how about some table to put our drinks on.
Décor. From a distance, (standing at the front door) the red, black, and grey motif is relaxing, promoting the mystique of what the hookah experience promises. However, when you sit in the booths, one begins to notice the grey «velvet“on the walls is unevenly stretched and tearing away from numerous points. Also over half of the fluorescent lights are exposed. Low class. The pool room seemed to be under construction as fluorescent lighting tubes were strewn about the couches, yet not barriers to keep customers from wandering in = unsafe.
No Toilet Paper!
Signage: 99% is on the wonderfully sign out front. Inside a few posters and menus. Menus are the only items that list flavors and prices. Nothing about „happy hour“. A sign out front, a sign inside, lists on the website would attract more customers and returning regulars.
Customer service: while the cashier promptly responded to my requests, he had a lackluster attitude.
Me: „I’ll get a cola hookah“
Cashier: „are you sure?“
Me:“yes, it’s one of my favorite flavors»
Cashier: (pause) «let me check in the back»… «we’re out».
Also, during his down time, he was locked into watching the basketball game on one of the tv’s. How about checking the non patronized areas for trash, or if the bathroom needs something, then relax.
Some nit picky details.
Put up a curtain or door for the employee area, no-​one wants to see the kitchen.
Check the valves on your hookah, someone might want to clear the bottle.
On your website, put a blurb on what a hookah is, what shisha is. This would attract more n00bs.
While I’d recommend other places at this time. I’m gonna try this place again to see if it improves.

My bf and I had such a great time visiting PB. We wanted something chill but live and decided to go to Phantom Lounge for Hookah.
Ambiance: The set up and lighting were ‘just right’.
There was a good variety of Hookah flavors to choose from and they were on point with keeping our coals fresh.
Music: The music was a pretty good mix of hip hop, latin dance, and top 40, but I wish we would’ve made it on a DJ’d night. I danced to a few songs just because I couldn’t help myself!
Service: We chose to sit VIP which didn’t matter to me either way, but the owner made sure to pay extra attention to us which was appreciated since I’m always in need of something, smh! Everyone else did their jobs very well.
Food: The sandwiches there are AMAZING! I totally recommend eating before you leave. Unless you are starving, you will likely be grabbing a to-​go box as well.
Hours: This place is open until 4am which is cool when all the surrounding bars close at 2am.
Recommended?: I will definitely go back whenever I’m in the San Diego area!

So I went to this place after trying their location in miramar, this place is just as good as their other location. So I walked in and asked for something new, sal the guy working there recommended spiced chi and vanilla; he was on point. This place is super chill and the managment is very knowledgeable about hookahs. This place is defiantly worth a try.

I was enjoying a hookah with a friend. The place was empty we were the only costumers and then my 2 other friends showed up and they don’t smoke. My friend wanted a coke and was told since we are more than 3 we have to order another hookah but my friends don’t smoke so it was pointless and their only costumers had to leave. Go anywhere else.

Worst service ever! They force you to smoke a hookah even if you don’t want it. If you are more than 3 you have to order more hookahs even if the people get drinks. The place is ugly and the guys aren’t even nice. Go somewhere in downtown they’re so much better.

We were 2 people enjoying a good hookah and 3 friends showed up. The people who came wanted to get drinks but they told us we needed a hookah. The place was empty and it is stupid they tried to enforce the the person rule when we are the only customers here. The reason for this review was mostly because the service was not good. If the people there actually cared about the customers it would be a great place.

An alright place that lets underage kids smoke. Eh, the place is nothing to go crazy over. I mean I’ll go here if a group of friends want to but I’d rather not. The set-​up of the place is different (in a good way), you’re like in a «box» booth which is pretty cool cos you get to be secluded with your friends and they also have a «bed-​like» couch in the middle of the place which is awesome, other than that it’s whatever.

Good place, very energetic young crowd. If you’re coming here, make sure it’s with a energetic, fun group. Gave only three stars because our group chose a booth that wasn’t cleaned up and still had the mess of the previous group that sat there. Other than that, good place.

Place was cool. No complaints the house flavor we had was a peach blend very smooth. Definitely less expensive as other hookah bars. The music was good a nice mixture of mellow hip hop. Kanye west and such. Towards the end around 9pm the music got a little Obnoxious and considerably louder, sounded like the place was turning into a club I found myself having to scream at the person next to me. No bueno.

Good hookah, horrible service. No one greets you and they expect you to know everything about hookah. Very rude.

Holy shit. Why would go anywhere else? These guys are the best. Wide selection of flavors from both starbuzz and al fakher. The hookahs are clean and overall extremely sexy. I have my own hookah at home that I smoke every day and these guys were able to throw in some advanced maneuvers for me thatll make my experience better than before. Chill environment. Plenty of room for you and your friends. They also have a vip room in the back for private hookah sessions. Lots of tv’s, excellent sound system. Dj nights are on Tuesdays. They carry snacks and drinks to munch on while you’re relaxing.

Awesome. Roomy. Vip Room. Great hookah. Welcoming atmoshpere. GREAT customer service. Awesome music. Friendly.
