I paid $ 170 for burning and ugly hair with Setting perm by Hana. Im really disappointed with the bad services here. She permed my hair the same time with 3 other clients. She didnt take care only me and left the chemical too long on my hair. I dont like this salon! This is first time and never come back. See my hair before and after like this… so terrible!

the worst hair salon ever, they told me come here again after half an hour, I did, they told me come back half an hour later against n, I still did, after 20 mins waiting someone told me waited 10 more mins because no one wanted to cut my hair. I am a man who has normal short hair and just washed my hair. I could accept the excuse if I was dirty or my hair is too oil to touch, but I’m not!!!

I went here coz i know koreans cut really good but i was just disappointed cozHannah did not get the style i wanted. Its just annoying that i showed her the picture in my phone and told her if she wants to look at it again just tell me. But instead, she cut it the way she wanted. So disappointed! I gave it two stars instead of one coz to be fair she gave me a nice cut but its just that she did not do what i told her to.

Never go here for your nails. They have a one person table for nails within the salon for nails. Their color choices are super small. I called and asked if they can do two and they told me yes but didn’t tell me it would be one after the other. If the nails were done well, I wouldn’t say anything but the person is not very clean with her work. Cuticles looked half done. She didn’t seem to understand what was wrong and only repeated tell me and I can do it again. Also $ 20 for such a poor job is ridiculous

Ever since I moved from LA to SD I’ve been looking for a place to cut my hair. After trying out several locations with little success I came across Park Jun’s Beauty Lab. This place rocks! I’m very picky when it comes to my hair so I need a patient hair stylist who pays attention to small details. The stylist who cut my hair is named Kimmy. She is the best! From now on I will only have her cut my hair and no one else :) So if you’re a guy or girl come down here and check it out! Make sure you ask for Kimmy. She’s simply the best!

Any yet again my hair was saved. I’ve been doing my hair ombré for awhile and decided to do all my hair brown with highlights. I didn’t like being a brunette. After being blonde for so long Its hard to go dark. I decide to go back to the light ombré Because Park Jun’s uses the best hair products my hair was able to handle the color change. Thanks Sunny and thanks to her professional team!

Back in LA, I was a regular at Étude, a salon at the Zion Market in Ktown. Since I moved back to SD from LA, I’ve been scrounging around SD in hopes to find a comparable solution but to no avail. I’ve been to a few decent ones here and there and finally bumped into Park Jun’s at the Zion Market in SD. Little did I know, Christy, the stylist that tended to my hair needs, was a former stylist at Étude in LA. Now I feel at home again and satisfied that I am getting the same quality. Kudos to Zion market for the awesome Korean salons.

My new go-to for haircuts in San Diego. They do Asian hair well. I usually ask for Kimmy, who can do a wicked good asymmetric bob. She also did my Japanese hair straightening for me, which went well. She paid a lot of attention to detail and made sure my hair came out right, even though it took a lot longer since I have thick hair. She charged a fair price, $ 200.

I’ve been in San Diego for quite a while and I was never satisfied with any other hair salons in San Diego but Park Juns salon is far the best place to get your hair done. Mrs. Hana always take great care of me and i’m always satisfied whenever she’s finished with my hair. If you want to keep up with the latest trend of hair styles, this is definitely the best place to go! Ask for Mrs. Hana!

Had the greatest beauty day @parkjunssalon by Rachel. Got my eyebrows cleaned up and a korean digital perm. Feeling like a princess. Beautiful salon and great stylist. #1 korean salon in san diego!

Sunny did an amazing job! I just moved here and I always get worried who does my hair. I’ve had too many horror stories, but she did an amazing job on curling and the hair cut alone. It was exactly what I described and asked for and did it in ample time. Everyone there is nice and I like how the salon itself was very clean.

EDIT: Apparently, DK is unfortunately no longer working at Park Jun. I’m going to paste my 5-star review onto DK’s Unilocal page and insert another review into this post that reflects my 1st experience here. The first time I came here with my friends, I actually did not know to ask for DK. Instead, I was assigned this middle-aged lady who really did a mediocre job with my hair. I showed her a picture of this well-known Korean-American fashionista and asked her to give me a similar haircut(long-ish side bangs and to make everything else neat) and she ended up giving me a very short fringe and thinned my hair out so much with layers that I almost felt bald. It was really not what I wanted because I wanted to keep the volume of my hair and I didn’t want a short fringe, but she didn’t ask me any questions for further clarification. It was kind of just like another job for her and she wanted to get it over with. Of course, what was I going to do? The lady didn’t talk to me or anything and her English wasn’t that good at all, so she just gave me a very generic haircut. The haircut she gave me was so unflattering and just made my face look even more fat and round… While I was getting my hair cut by the lady, my guy friends got to have their hair cut by DK and I saw how great their hair looked so that’s why I came back a few weeks later to make an appointment for DK and then got my great hair(in my review below). Otherwise, Park Jun’s isn’t that great without him anymore and so I’ve updated my review accordingly to better reflect the stylists that are currently there. — — – OLDREVIEWFORDK: I made an appointment here with DK and he was fantastic! I showed him some pictures of styles I liked and pointed out what about the styles that I liked, and he instantly knew what to do. I actually decided to step out of my comfort zone and go with a shorter haircut. The main things I look for in a hairstylist is someone who dedicates a lot of time and effort into making it look perfect and puts forth personal effort to make it match my face. The style I asked for actually would need a perm, but because I didn’t want a perm yet he showed me how to do soft curls on my own. DK also likes to take selfies with his clients afterwards with the new hair lols. I felt so good leaving the salon with my new hair, and had such a big grin on my face for the rest of the day! It came out exactly how I wanted it and he was able to make it fit me really well. I will definitely come back when I need to trim it again.

I wanted a simple haircut from long hair to a shoulder-length«lob» with long layers. Made an appointment with DK because of all the great reviews. The haircut was ok, the experience underwhelming. You won’t get a head/neck massage while shampooing like other places in the same price range. But more importantly I found it difficult to communicate with the stylist. In an attempt to better describe my desired length, I brought a picture of Rose Byrne(from Neighbors), and added that I would like to get long layers. DK said the picture had no layers, and I repeated that I wanted layers, since I have pretty thick hair and didn’t want the blunt-ended look. I’m not sure he understood, because he asked me about the layers several more times, to which I confirmed yes I want layers but not so much that the ends are wispy. Ended up with hair at the right length but thick as a wall and layers only a half inch shorter than the longest part and only at the very outer layer of my hair. It’s fine I guess, but I can imagine it not being very maintainable as it grows longer and heavier. In the beginning, DK seemed excited about taking before/after pictures, and while not one to take selfies, I was ok with this. After the haircut, however, while he was blow-drying and attempting to style, I felt as if he himself weren’t happy with the way it turned out, as he kept criticizing how my hair was«bent» in one direction and it was impossible for him to straighten, even after first using a rounded brush, and then with heat tools. I caught him grimacing at the back of my head in the mirror, and I was not shown what it looked like with a smaller mirror, as I always have been after haircuts. Alas, no after picture was taken. DK said I get a 5 dollar discount from his usual rate of 45, but at 40 it was still more than what I was quoted over the phone and what I confirmed while I was waiting for the cut. The whole process took about an hour. TL;DR I probably won’t come back. I would have gotten the same cut at Convoy Haircuts for half the price, and I don’t feel the services I received(no massage, criticizing the previous cut, leaving to work on another customer multiple times) warranted the extra 15 dollars. Perhaps if you speak Korean or if you bring a picture that is precisely the cut you want, and you come at a less busy time, the experience would be better.

I hate to even review as I don’t want the secret to get out… Okay actually in the time it took to write this review I decided to keep the secret. As with any salon, who cuts your hair is more important then where, and I have found someone who is on point with my hair. Often mistaken for a member of a k pop idol band(joking) but my hair is of that genre. Having long left the military it’s almost a right of passage to grow your hair long, and well I had to find some kind of acceptable style(no asian mullets here). I found someone who has cut the hair of said boy bands but now has the joy of cutting my hair for a extremely reasonable rate. I will not reveal who, but if you try every person there you may find out, but be warned, a few are really really bad. Are you willing to find out? If so don’t be taking my appointment times!

Man. I wish I could give more stars because the actual hair treatment, perm, and styling I got by DK is by far the best I’ve found in san diego. I get magic perm every 6 to 8 months and it’s been hard to find a designer who controls for the damage level, is able to control and style the hair even with the difficult magic perm treatment and is knowledgeable about revitalizing damaged hair. I speak korean and he was able to explain in detail what he’s doing, understand what I wanted, and give me advice about how to manage my hair afterwards. With that said, the reason for my 3 stars is that the service took me 6 hours. 6. It usually takes 3 to 4 hours, especially because I was getting touch ups. I think it really has to do with management. I walked in to see if I could make an appointment or if there was time that day – and the lady assured me that there was an opening. So DK started my hair around 1pm, then people who had already made appointments started coming in through out and I sat waiting around for a long time with my hair process already started. I felt bad for DK who kept checking in with me and apologizing, but honestly I dont know if it was his fault. Then she tried to get someone else to do my hair, but by then DK already knew what I wanted and I wasn’t sure if someone else taking over would get me what I wanted for my hair. So all in all my hair was done at 7 pm. So lesson learned: always make an appointment before you go. And make sure you ask for DK and dont get talked into someone else. Be assertive.

Didn’t plan for a haircut for myself. Was just waiting for family to get their haircut done. Ended up getting a haircut from DK – BEST haircut ever since I moved to San Diego! All the details were taken care of. I have tried way too many Salons during the three years staying in San Diego. Finally I think I can stop searching. Six stars for DK if I could!

there is a menu at the front desk which is to the left when you first walk in. there’s two or three«menus»(like a restaurant) that list services as well as the accompanying price, so you don’t have to be surprised about«no set pricing» because that part is definitely not true. this place is rather crowded on the weekends, so i suggest coming during off-times or perhaps making an appointment before you come in :)
