Sometimes it’s about more than just great pizza. The owner picked up my phone in the parking lot and instead of making a couple of hundred bucks off of it he emailed me and made sure it was back in my hands. Thanks Mr. Moto!

The best pizza in San Diego. Period. I have made it my life’s work(okay, maybe not my life’s work) to discover the finest pie in the city and this is it. Just as good as anything you’ll find in NYC and leagues above Bronx, Luigi’s etc.

Dank pizza. Nuff said. Do it. It’s the best pizza by the slice and by the pie in PB. No beer though. Sad face.

I am stunned. My wife and I got a calzone and 3 slices and soda. Next to flying to New York City this is it! You crave amazing pizza and pasta this is the place. What’s funny is I’m not a big pizza fan. Mr Moto is the bomb

I’ve got to give the owner kudos for trying to correct our problem with ordering a pizza from Mr Moto. I guess there was a new guy answering the phone. He offered a complimentary pizza and even to deliver pizza to my home in El Cajon from PB where we had been staying for a few days. El Cajon is a long way to try to keep a pizza hot so I’ll just take him up on the offer of a free pie next time I’m in PB. Thank you for trying so hard to correct this. I give him 5 stars for the effort. I’ll review the pizza after I eat it!

Awesome opossum pizza! Incredible service courtesy of Mr. Moto himself. We got pizza(obviously) salad and the garlic knots, all of which were great. Knots were soft and delicious, pizza was cooked perfectly and the house salad is everything you can want in a salad with a great vinaigrette. I hear the tiramisu is awesome but couldn’t pack anymore down. Thanks again we will be seeing you again soon!

I’m a big fan of Mr. Moto. Their pizza is good, thinner then most places and its close to my house. My only gripe with them is anytime I’ve ordered delievery… the pizza is cold. I understand that it might not be a big deal, you can just reheat but I used to deliver pizzas, maybe its time to get better delivery bags Mr.Moto. Other then that you cannot go wrong, their plain pizza is good. Their Veggie is great and you can always just stop in for a slice!

Mr Motos is our go to pizza shop, we love stopping in after a ride and grabbing a couple of slices. The staff are friendly and helpful and the pizza is top quality. I recommend to anybody… Try Mr Moto. Tom And Katie.

We love coming here! Our favorite is the garlic knots which are inexpensive and absolutely delicious and a great way to enjoy waiting for the whole pizza to arrive. Great deals and great food, we are so lucky to have a local pizza place nearby.

Mr. Moto’s called me after reading my review. He tried to figure out what happened. Apparently there’s problems with systems when ordering through other delivery serves and not directly through their shop. He apologized and offered to provide my order today for free. I appreciated the apology and proactive approach to resolving problems. I got a call from Gibran letting me know the pizza was on the way. The delivery driver apologized again. I recommend just calling direct. I ordered the Tipsy Time pizza with chicken, carmelized onions, goat cheese, and vodka sauce. I liked the unique flavor combinations. The pizza was huge!

When it’s pushing 100 degrees in the summer, one flocks to the beach to cool off. It was probably still in the 90’s when I entered Mr. Moto Pizza house and was disappointed by the lack of air conditioning. Even though the windows were open, the breeze was missing and the flies were on full attack!(If you’re with a buddy or a group of people, I highly recommend ordering a fresh pie. Even with a strategically placed fan, the flies were still landing on the pizza by the slice options.) My date and I shared garlic knots and a large pizza with sausage and pepperoni toppings. The garlic knots were the highlight of the meal, being softy and chewy without being too heavy on the garlic. Unfortunately, the pizza was a disappointment with the crust being too weak to hold up all the greasiness of the cheese and meat toppings. I helped myself to the napkins near the door to soak up all the orangeness. Overall the service was friendly and it’s awesome that they offer a 25% discount for checking in on Unilocal

Picked up some Mr. Moto pizza on the way home and I was very happy :) I got the Unilocal discount so I added on garlic knots and they were delicious. Affordable, delicious, and friendly staff. Five stars.

New to Unilocal, saw the sign in Mr. Moto’s and I figured«what the hell, what do I have to lose?» First off, I love pizza. I’m no connoisseur by any means but I’ve had just about every major chain and other similar style places ie. Flippin Pizza. This is actually the second time I’ve tried the pizza here, the first day was last Monday and I swooped in because I saw they had a tv with the game on and every other place was crowded as all hell. I ordered the Tipsy Time and Sweet Dreams and a side of Garlic Knots(the spinach, not the jalepeño). The food was delicious and the service was great. Really enjoyed small talk on the Chargers vs Steelers game with a few of the employees. The Tipsy Time pizza is said to have Vodka sauce, didn’t get a buzz or anything but it was good to say the least. I did favor the Sweet Dreams slice more though, it’s more akin to your Barbecue Chicken style pizza. I did like that everywhere you sit, there is a power outlet to charge your electronic devices(very smart!) Today, is the second time I pick up a slice. I tried the Momma Mia slice. Quite possibly my new favorite, very delicious slice and I got to see some familiar faces from last Monday. Had a bit of small talk on the Greenbay-Chargers game for tomorrow. Only thing I was surprised about was the lack of alcohol. Being in PB and all, I was almost sure they’d at least sell beer from a fridge ala Wings N Things. But who knows, maybe in the future and worst case scenario I can take a pie home and enjoy beer with my pizza there. I would say this is better than Flippin Pizza, and they claim to have the best pizza in San Diego, so definitely check this place out.

The walls of Mr. Moto proudly proclaim the eponymous proprietor’s Italian heritage. Ironically, however, Mr. Moto proudly serves New York style-ish pizza. I wouldn’t say said pizza is all that special. Like many of its regional ilk, the overall product is kind of greasy although it does improve on many of its competitors in that the crust could be picked up without flopping over and losing all its meaty toppings. Speaking of meat, the toppings all seemed pretty standard hole-in-the-wall; I would have liked seeing more of the Italian influence in this area if nothing else. The one saving grace of my Mr. Moto experience would be the fantastic pizza knots that come large and doughy and with a sufficiently soft texture to make eating them a real pleasure. Summary: Hello Moto. But maybe also goodbye.

Ordered the«Mr. Moto» large pizza through Eat24, ET was 15 – 30. I walked over after about 15 minutes. Sure was an over abundance of testosterone in there this evening, Bro Club written all over this place, all 9 of them. I was not greeted in any way whatsoever. Okay. Whatever Bro. Is it game time? SMH. I spoke up loudly, said I placed an order for carry-out with Eat24 and gave them my name. Of course, they already knew this, as when my order was placed, you must give Eat24 your name, and you get a confirmation email with your time window. If a female walks in 15 minutes after pre-ordering from Eat24, don’t you think this must be the person who ordered 15 minutes ago, since your place is currently a ghost town? Plus, you’ve got 4 employees just standing around, shooting the breeze? Was told the pizza would be ready in 17 more minutes, take a seat. Obviously, my pizza wasn’t in the oven yet. I was mildly irritated, but remained cheerful throughout. Only after that exchange did I notice someone start to make my pre-ordered pizza. The WRONGPIZZA. More on that later. I sat down at a table and started texting my sister, knowing this would take some time. Lots of flies kept landing on my hand, and THAT bothered me. I should’ve left then. Next thing that mildly irritated me was when an employee came over and asked me if I was there for an interview? What? I was in no way dressed for an interview, had no make up on, and my hair was piled all messy on my head. Weird question, especially knowing that I’m waiting for a pizza. After that they pretty much left me alone until the pizza was finally done. I handed him $ 100. He said, «I don’t think I have change for that.» I then said I had nothing smaller but I could pay with a debit card. He said, «No no no, one of us can break that.» He asked me some other questions I found strange. When he returned with my change, 3 other men came out from the back to stare at me and all were kinda acting strange and grinning. After I told the counter guy I wanted to use my 25% Off Unilocal Check-In, his attitude changed. Clearly, he was annoyed. He also trains to make SURE I wouldn’t try to use the 25% off again, saying it right in front of my face. Tip: Train your employees on that later, when the customer isn’t around. Maybe have some meetings. Get on the same page. The pizza was shoved in my face, as Gibran F, walked away, not saying«Thank you» or «Goodbye». The pizza was disgusting. It wasn’t even the right pizza. The«Mr. Moto» has sausage, meatballs, marinara dots, and mozzarella. There was a cloyingly pungent garlic smell, right through the box. The pizza flavors were almost non existent, except for a pervading taste of garlic. I couldn’t taste any one ingredient enough to get a good taste of it. Even the mozzarella ‘dots’ were so small, I knew after the third bite I wasn’t eating anymore than one slice. Probably the worst pizza ever. I won’t be back, Bros.

Sorry, but you’re down to 2. Had it on two occasions last night. The first was cold, leftover pizza(there’s a sign right there). It would have been fine had it not been burnt to a crisp. We keep getting it because it’s the closest, not because it’s the best. The second time I had it we got it to satisfy some drunk munchies. It was hot and freshly made. The crust was thin, soggy, and bland — I had to fold the point up toward the crust to eat it. The sauce was basic and thin, and cheese was… Meh… the pepperonis were fine. Definitely did some grease-dabbing which I won’t fault them for… It is pizza after all. Last night anyway, the pizza was just a small step above the $ 5 large cheese pizzas in Pittsburgh. And the inconsistency speaks volumes of the quality and care that goes into making Mr. Moto pizzas…

After a long day at a work and a long bike ride home, I was ready to try and eat healthy by cooking at home, but was feeling lazy and decided to stop by Mr. Moto’s as it had just recently opened. As with most other PB destinations, the parking is street parking, but it’s easy enough to find. With the open air windows and front door open, you can’t help but want to stroll in towards the fresh pizza smell. I actually don’t like pizza, but since Cam’s a big fan, I usually follow him in with the intent to order some pasta if available or a salad if my self control is in check. That being said, I ended up eating some of Cam’s pizza(see below). Mr. Moto’s is a similar business to Liberty Pizza down the street where you can pick one of the pizzas that are sitting in the display case on the counter or you can order a fresh pizza if you have some extra time. After this experience, if we come back we will be ordering our pizza fresh. The plus side of this business model is that you can get a piece of pizza relatively quickly. The staff here is extremely friendly. Since they are new, the cashier was on his first day and got our order a little confused. Luckily there wasn’t anyone else in the restaurant, so we were able to fix everything after a lot of communication back and forth. Between 2 garlic knots, 5 slices of pizza, and an order of pasta, everything came out to around $ 38(tip and tax added to total). Instead of charging us for the individual slices, the cashier charged us for the pizza and drink specials(which are cheaper?), so we ended up getting two fountain drinks as well. There were only two red flags for me. When we arrived, one of the customers had a mix up with her stuffed garlic knot — I guess it had jalepeno instead of spinach. While the staff was quick to fix this, I also noticed that the knot she had returned was put back into the display case. Not sure if it was taken out afterwards, but I’m pretty sure it was still there when we left. I also noticed that there were flies in the display case that actually landed on the pieces of pizza. While I understand that the heat from the oven will hopefully kill most of the bacteria from flies, it was still a little gross(I’m irrationally terrified of bugs, sorry). Garlic Knots. These were actually not that bad — you get your choice of marinara or ranch with your order. We chose marinara and it was served warm, which went well with the garlic knots. The garlic topping was great, but the knot itself was a little too doughy for me. Cam really enjoyed his knot. We snacked on these while waiting for the rest of our order to come out(we ordered to go). Vodka Sauce Penne. I was extremely disappointed with my pasta. Since I wanted to try something a little different from spaghetti and meatballs, I chose the penne, but I did not like the sauce because of all the onion. If you love onion, then you will love this sauce because I couldn’t taste anything over the onion — not even the cheese or cream. I guess this is what I get for ordering pasta at a pizza place? Maui Wowie. After not being able to stomach my pasta, I ate half of one of Cam’s pizza slices. While not terrible, it was not amazing — just okay in my book. Since it was a reheated pizza, it was really dry. I ended up just picking out the pineapple and eating that. We also had some leftover marinara, which Cam used to dip the pizza in. The Hulk. This was Cam’s other slice of pizza. He said that it was good for reheated pizza, but not great. We will definitely have to pursue ordering fresh if we go back again. Cheese. We got 3 slices of cheese pizza for Cam’s sister and nephew. His nephew was happily chewing on his slice when we got home, so it seems that he enjoyed it — not sure how to translate toddler speak. Overall, Mr. Moto is okay in my book. I’m kind of regretting eating anything, but that’s probably because of the cheese. While it is not my first choice for pizza, I might be willing to come back for some fresh pizza when we have more time. The staff is super friendly and they have a great variety of pizzas available.

I needed to grab something to eat on the beach. I got the special, two slices and a soda cost $ 8.10 including tax. The pizza was good and interesting. The pizza is pre-made and then put back in the oven when you order. You can also order a fresh pizza, but of course it takes longer to get your order. I ordered two slices. The first slice, named pear me up, had pear, gorgonzola, ham, and spinach. The second slice, named Mama Mia, had bacon, pepperoni, spinach and gorgonzola. The Mama Mia is greasy. There were many pizzas to choose from, but I just picked the first two, and I was happy. The price was right. There wasn’t a long wait and everything tasted good. I would recommend this pizza for lunch or for take-out.

Two large slices and drink for $ 7.50 with a great selection and ready in a few minutes, but with a wait, just long enough to speak to a pretty lady, well I’m in! For my slices of pizza, I went for the slice of the day, which came with pepperoni, caramelized onions, ricotta cheese, and Mozzi on a red sauce. The second slice was the«Hulk» or their version of the meat lover’s, also on a read sauce. I actually did not get a drink because they did not make iced tea, so in the end, my two sliced of pizza cost $ 6 and some change. I first dug into the slice of the day and it was a good combination of flavors. The ricotta was bliss, with its creamy texture ad light flavor, which went well the semi spicy pepperoni and sweet caramelized onions. The crust on both slices was thin, had god flavor, and was easy to fold and eat East Coast style if you like. The sauce I thought was okay. I like my sauce easy on flavor so that it does not overwhelm a good slice of pizza. This one I thought was a little to saucy, aggressive in flavor, and a little gritty. It’s is just a personal thing, because I prefer my sauce very light in quantity and flavor. The slice of Hulk was great and definitely a meat lover’s type of slice. The slice came with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and I believe meatball, but I am not to sure. All the toppings were great in flavor, with the same issue with the sauce however. This is a good slice if you need to get your carnivore craving satisfied. Overall, I enjoyed my two slices of pizza and the service provided by the gents that work here. The lady I met, really enjoyed her«Pair Me Up» and«Mission Blvd.» Slice. I am stuck between a three and four star review, so I am going for a 3.5, on the upper end, since the sauce was all I had a small issue with. I say easy on the saucing.
