Attending a conference of beef ranchers included two nights of steak dining. Here and cowboy star. This place has passed its prime, pun intended. The service was untrained and rushed. The shrimp was not deveined. Crab contained more shell that crab. Steaks were nothing special. Keep walking to Cowboy star or any other place.

Absolutely delicious… Every bite was amazing. The bread rocked. We each had the mixed grill with steak, shrimp and scallops and every bite was heaven in your mouth. We also had grilled asparagus. The entire menu looked tasty and the wait staff was delightful.

I come here regularly but the last 2 times I came to eat I was a quit disappointed. One time my steak was over cooked and extremely chewy and the last time I was there the side of garlic mash potatoes tasted as if they came out of a box lacking flavor and texture. When the manager came to ask our table how our meal was I informed her about my disappointment with the so called«garlic mash potatoes» and she said thank you for the info and that was it. For the price I expect the food to be quality. 2 people will spend at least $ 150 so I have a certain expectation. I think we may have to change our regular steak house to Flemings or Ruth Chris.

It’s a nice place and food is ok. Nothing to be fascinated about. Food portion is small and it taste like any other steakhouse. $ 50 dollars for dinner is too damn expensive. Caesar salad, filet mignon with green beans, cheesecake is not 50 dollars. So yea…

If you can afford it, this is a treat. Everything is deliciously delicious, period. So far not disappointed with anything. My wallet is the only one getting skinnier after coming here, the food is spot on. My favorite steak here is the NY and the bone –in…but get whatever cut you prefer, it will be good. Other Notable recommendations: Lobster(one of the best I’ve ever had), Cauliflower Truffle, and Tacos. Their desserts are also out of this world. Great service(you pay for it). If you can afford to treat yourself this is the place, and your date or guest will be impressed guaranteed. Review over. I now need 3 days to digest.

We came here for our company holiday party and had a great time with tons of fantastic food. Our group started off with many of the appetizers including shrimp cocktsils, oysters, escargot, and small soups and salads. I split a steak with my coworker but also had some of the brisket and they were both great. The sides are expensive, but fully worth it. We ordered the mashed potatoes, asparagus, and finished with rounds of the chocolates cake and crème brûlée. Be warned that the carrot cake, while delicious, is monstrously huge. Service is friendly if a little slow. We finished the night with hot coffee and tea, but all of the coffee they served was cold and we had to ask for a fresh batch. Overall a great experience.

My favorite restaurant in San Diego. Best wine list around. It’s hard to resist their bacon-wrapped scallops, smoked salmon, and my friend loves the porterhouse steaks. They have the best vegetables and bernaise sauce… the largest broccoli stalks you have ever seen. And, you can’t miss the onion bread and the ugly hog lamp at every table, ha. Top quality food and service… and good company at the tables.

We decided on late night HH and went to Morton’s, words cannot describe what we ate however I’ll try. It was nirvana! We had the crab, spinach and artichoke dip and short ribs tacos. What a burst of flavors in my mouth. The dip was rich and creamy perfectly seasoned with mouth watering crab meat served with toasted French bread croutons. The short ribs steak tacos were tender, savory and delicious pieces of shredded braised beef with chipotle mayo, Pico de Gallo and avocado. This is what I call perfection. The combined flavors were all dancing on my tongue. I didn’t want these flavors to stop. By far the best taco I have ever eaten. The restaurant has been renovated and has a rich classy ambiance. Perfect place for special occasion or an intimate dinner. Lastly our bartender/waiter was excellent our glasses remained filled in addition to his superb HH recommendations. I can’t wait for my next visit which I believe will be tonight.

The steaks were great and they made my girlfriend’s birthday. It was my first time in the restaurant and I enjoyed it.

I was invited to lunch here by a vendor and immediately jumped at the chance to try Morton’s. The restaurant is very intimate and is a place you should definitely go to for a special occasion or if you want to treat yourself. The ambiance is very romantic and classy. The food though… so freakin’ good! I don’t really eat meat often so I stuck with the salmon and it was delicious! It’s cooked in butter so of course it would be good. My co-worker ordered the steak and let out an audible«Oh my God!» after her first bite. The potatoes and green beans were also delectable. I tried the key lime pie for dessert and it was okay. My co-worker got the chocolate mousse and loved it. We both resolved to bring our husbands back to try the amazing food.

Although I’ve been here numerous times for dinner, I have to give this restaurant major props for hosting my wedding reception.(11÷28÷14) They provided us with exceptional service and a custom menu to our likings. Wine was poured and paired as my dad had it set up that way. They didn’t mess up once. Food: delicious! We were all given a 3 course dinner option with dessert. Steaks, fish, chicken. Any main dish was to die for. And although we had a wedding cake/cake pops, they made sure I got a slice of my favorite cheesecake as well. :) Parking is valet, and it’s suggested you use it because parking anywhere downtown isn’t free. Might as well use the restaurants services! With our anniversary coming up, I tend to reminisce and noticed I hadn’t given a proper review. If you’re in the Gaslamp area, be sure to visit Morton’s Steakhouse! Tip: they have a great happy hour if you aren’t looking to spend too much on your dinner.

Came here for restaurant week to try it out, and for a high end restaurant I waited way too long to get any type of service and overall experience was sub par. The waiting — It took about 5 minutes for a hostess to come greet us. Apparently she was multi-tasking and helping service the tables too. My waiter took 10 minutes to come to us and ask us if we wanted anything to drink, and apologized for the wait. Then he left again for another 10 minutes. I asked a different guy refilling the drinks for a restaurant week menu, and he said ask your waiter. The waiter was busy servicing a bigger party also and was no where to be seen for awhile. I had to get up myself and ask the hostess for a restaurant week menu. They gave us bread, and it was hamburger bread cut up and toasted with butter? I thought that was odd. I asked for more bread later during our meal to confirm if they really serve hamburger bread, and to my surprise gave us regular bread. I was a little relieved that high end restaurant didn’t regularly serve that but offended at the same time that they gave it to me. Food was good though, but still love Ruthcris more.

Friend and I had a nice meal last night at the bar. Raul and Matt were working — great job guys! I love this place… the apps and prices of bottles of wine are very fair! Tim came by a few times… so sweet of him. I’ve been a VIP for over 16 years and Morton’s has always been my favorite steakhouse! If you are looking for upscale — come here! See all of you next week!

This review is from a while back, but have the pictures and memories still that made the experience so wonderful. Celebration of my bf birthday, of course we went to Disneyland for the day and had a blast. Really wanted to treat him to a really good dinner. For being so close to Disneyland and a steak house, of course ur gonna spend the bucks. … but regardless. .it’s worth the dining experience. Definitely be back for a romantic dinner. Food was phenomenal except the Brussel sprouts, had a few issues with that, but easy fix though. Have the dining experience and treat urself.. dont recommend bringing the kids, more of a classy scene. Enjoy xoxoxo

Haven’t been here in years, came for our anniversary. Very nice friendly service. Ordered the lobster bisque and baked escargot to start off along with a nice glass of malbec followed by steaks«Oscar style» and twice baked au gratin potatoes. I ordered the filet mignon and my husband had the porterhouse, both medium rare. the season on his steak was definitely better than my filet which had slight after taste I don’t particularly care for. Oscar style is served with with lump crabs and asparagus over the steak and bernaise sauce. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, they provided a free dessert, we got the key lime pie instead of the soufflé because some of the soufflé were not rising properly. Quite disappointed but a good try on our server who tried twice but did not want us to wait any longer for our dessert. Bathrooms need updating.

It was my first time to Morton’s. The only goal of the day was to try their Million Dollar Burger for $ 39. We started off the evening with a glass of wine for me and a soda for the hungover pastry chef sister. Since we knew what we wanted, we immediately put in the order for the burgers. In addition to the burgers, we got the wedge salad bites. Thirty minutes later, we still haven’t gotten our food. Cranky sister stated it should have only taken 8 minutes to cook a medium rare burger and no longer than 15 minutes, if allowed to rest. I could tell she was on the slow roll to being hangry. The second bartender appeared and he apologized for the delay. He offered to buy us another appetizer, on the house, while they fixed the issue with the MIA burgers. He suggested something cold and we ended up getting a dozen oyster. Ironically, the burgers finally made it out, before the oysters appeared. Miss Cranky Pants took a giant bite of her burger, moaned and said, «Okay. This is definitely worth the wait.» Well, someone was happy. Even I had to admit, the burger was really, really good. At the end of the meal, our original server came up and said, «You’re all set.» I responded with, «Yes. Check, please.» He then repeated, «No, you’re all set. We got you covered.» I just want to say, «WOW!» I honestly would have been happy with the comped oysters. But the fact that the entire meal was taken care of by Morton’s? Totally unexpected; but, seriously, much appreciated. Amazing customer service!

Surprisingly yummy. It had been a few years since I ate here but my last visit was exceptionally good. Had an order of oysters on the half, lobster mashed they did up for our table special and a tail. Others at our table enjoyed steak and everyone was pleased the service, taste and the steaks were all cooked to order. Great atmosphere and no disappointment since Landry’s owns the place now. Plan to go back soon for another great meal.

I’ve been here a couple of times and both times my dining experience was a great one. Service is always on point. My water was always filled and the servers always checked up on us. Food: Bottle of Cabernet Wine Chopped Salad USDA Prime Aged Beef RibEye Steak Mashed Potatoes Grilled Jumbo Asparagus Hot Chocolate Cake The ribeye steak has got to be one of the best I’ve ever had. Medium on the inside and charred on the outside. Perfect flavor that no salt or steak sauce needed. I’ve also visited for HH. Petite Filet Mignon Crab Spinach and Artichoke Dip Fish Cut Potato Chips Drinks: Cosmopolitan Pomegranate Martini made extra strong(LOL) I’ll always recommend Morton’s to everyone. I loved the location in Hawaii and I will continue to visit the SD location.
