I give it 3 stars as this is an average pizza store and convenience store, BUT I give it an extra star for making a great deal. So my rating is a 4 for food, ie PIZZA. For $ 3.99 you get 2 decently sized pizza slices and a fountain soda. I would give it 4.5 stars if they would have allowed me refill my soda fountain, but due to location and demographics, I presume the owner didn’t want to be taken advantage of from people abusing unlimited refills. Now about the pizza, good and not great, but definitely inline with any old NYC pizza joint. The pizza pie slices are reminiscent of NYC in that it is thin crust and slightly crunchy. Pizza sauce was on the light side but the cheese was good flavored. Inventory selection was good because they had pepparoni, margarhit, cheese, and others but I didn’t see any others as I got there late in the day. Each slice was semi-chrunchy like eating a taco bell crunchy taco. Cheese quality was great and the overall price was perfect for a quick, cheap, quality meal.

This place is pretty lame because they are only open on weekdays. They don’t even put a message on the answering machine stating hours of operation. They were basically running off of Pauly’s reputation too. The place has dropped in quality and now sells $ 5 pizzas. Parking is also an issue with only one 3-minute loading and one commercial loading spot located on Park Ave. Wish they would get a clue.

Who doesn’t need a mini market next door to a 7 – 11? This spot is actually two businesses– market station & pizza station. market station is the mini market. My visit here in search of a can of tuna fish to make for dinner was succesful. They seemed to have a typical assortment of drinks, snacks and tobacco products as well as a small shelf unit of groceries & house hold items.

Market Station is the new convenience store located on the ground level of the Smartcorner building on the Park & Broadway trolley line. Its like 7 – 11, only more bigger & more awesome. They allow people to bring their well behaved dogs inside. My dog sniffs around on the floor looking for the slim jims(btw — I don’t condone eating SJ — that’s gross). They have stools and chairs to sit at and eat and a variety of snacks, drinks, lunch, and misc items you may need(batteries, etc). Pizza Station, a great neighborhood pizza joint is located inside(reviewed separately). I definitely recommend it. OHH — none of the little markets in this ‘hood sell booze. Its a good thing — trust me(have you seen who hangs at the trolley station?). If you need beer that bad, hit up albertsons a few blocks away.
