Mariscos Mi Gusto Es

So good. Seriously amazing fish taco, and $ 3 for two. They were a lot bigger than I expected (especially for $ 1.50!). So delicious!

Clean and fresh I’ll take this lunch truck over any Mex seafood in the area. Cleaning out the shrimp is a must for me and they deliver on that.

Real happy with this recommendation from Unilocal.Convenient to Balboa Park. Everything was freshly made to order and tasty. The garlic shrimp had heft to them and loads of flavor. The carne asada is as good as everyone posts. Pescado was lightly battered and still crisp.

This food truck is right across the street from my place. My wife and I love tacos and they have some of the best in SD. The Marlin is awesome. I personally don’t love crispy shells so next time I was just ask for soft corn but the carne asada, shrimp and Marlin are all great. Hot sauces are great too.

1 Star asada tacos… they should have called them grease tacos. Fatty, greasy, tasted like old cooking oil. Gross! Don’t bother!

YAAAAS. I can’t get enough of Mariscos Mi Guesto Es and I can’t believe it took me this long to find this gem in downtown!
Came with a coworker during the busy lunch hour. I ordered a fish taco, a shrimp taco, and a garlic octopus taco. My coworker ordered shrimp ceviche, a garlic octopus taco, and a fish taco.
The only reason why this place doesn’t get 5 stars is because there was quite some confusion with our orders and the wait was incredibly long. The food truck is across the street from San Diego City College, so this place is always poppin. From when we got here, ordered, and received our food, a good 30 minutes had passed. When we were waiting to get our food, one of the cooks came to reconfirm our order and there was some confusion about what we ordered.
In the end, our orders were still slightly incorrect, but the food was still delicious, so no real complains.
I received a fish taco, a shrimp taco where the shrimp was battered, and another taco that had cheese on it. I think they accidentally gave me their Su Gusto Es taco or the Gobernador taco because I remember her saying those had a little of everything and one or both of them had cheese. My last taco for sure had shrimp and taco and had cheese fried onto the tortilla.
All tacos were delicious, the fish taco was amazing. I usually prefer a Ensenada style taco where the batter is a little lighter, but their fish taco had a great crunch and good flavor. Both tacos I had were delicious. I would’ve preferred no matter on my shrimp in the shrimp taco, but it was tasty nonetheless. I’m not sure if their regular shrimp taco is battered, or if that was a mixup too. Their Su Gusto Es/​Gobernador taco was yummy yummy, but I was craving a great garlic octopus taco and the taco was much heaver than expected.
Coworker loved his tacos. He ordered shrimp tostada and since we ordered it to go, the shrimp ceviche was put in a container along with one tostada. He said the ceviche was incredibly wet. I guess it depends which you prefer. I’ve had ceviche that had lots of liquid and some that were pretty dry, both which I enjoy.
Definitely try their chipotle sauce and their salsa. Salsa is super yummy, but on the hotter side!
We will definitely come back. Will try to come earlier or later than the regular lunch hour to skip the rush and hopefully have better consistency with our order.

Tacos are fresh and tasty. The prices are low and the tacos are large. When I couldn’t decide what to get, they were so helpful in giving advice.
The place is getting busier and busier during lunch time, expect to wait a little to get your order. Well worth the short wait.

This place was delicious! I got the pescado, camaron and marlin tacos. All were just so tasty. Their portions are generous. The tortilla is on the larger side and the fillings are ample. The shrimp are a good medium size. Everything tasted fresh and well-​balanced between fish, salsa, cabbage and crema. I wish I had room to have more! I had never had a marlin taco before, and I was pleasantly surprised with the heftiness of the meat and the rich flavor from its preparation (a la plancha?). Great prices too.
It may sit in a lot between Goodwill buildings, but this food truck is a very welcoming spot. There were tables, chairs and even umbrellas for shade! Plus, the portable sink in the corner is a nice for cleaning up when you’re done.

I had to check this place out, not a fan of food trucks but the reviews were right, so delicious and fresh. Before going back home will come back.

I had the mar y Tierra enchilados tacos… my taste buds exploded with goodness in the first bite!
Also they were super friendly and had great customer service. I would highly recommend them. As for me I will be coming back… regularly!

Found this place in Unilocal.Was in town for a conference and wanted food truck tacos.
Absolutely delicious. Best tacos ever. Juicy, savory, and flavorful. Went to high school in the bay area — better than the Mexican food I’ve had there. Working currently in Chicago where there is a Mexican restaurant called Frontera which has 4.5 stars on Unilocal.This place was many times as good as that at a fraction of the cost.

Here i sit full and satisfied, after a big bottle of Coca-​Cola classic, 2 marlin tacos and a shrimp cocktail. Simply amazing. This gem is located on the corner and you shouldn’t have that much of an issue with parking, there is plenty once you drive in. Also bring cash with you or have to walk a half of block to get cash. No biggie it was so worth it.
I have never tried marlin tacos and it was to die for. Covered in green and red peppers and some great cheese to hold it all together. I so dread the drive back to Los Angeles or maybe I will take a nap along the beach for an hour

They also had variety of salsas and I got the habanero since I like spicy and wow it hit the spot!!! Obsessed went twice in a row lol!!! Lets keep it simple. Best fish tacos I ever had. Gracias senior! We visited California… San Diego, and other places, always looking for good food and good beer. Well, we found many good and fancy places based on google and Unilocal reviews and this particular one we absolutely loved it. I’m sure won’t disappoint you if you give it a try. Also on one of the corners, 5 min waking distance is a brewery, Monkey Pow. +10 to that one also.

If you are in SD for a few days, this little humble place should definitely be on your list, being for your lunch or just for an appetizer before a nice dinner.
The place is super authentic and you’ll probably have a hard time finding a restaurant with better Mexican food.
I got 2 tacos and a Coke for 7 bucks, best value for money in months.

Best tacos in San Diego Im from Orange County but when I’m in San Diego I have to stop by and eat some tacos

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, «Why eat at a taco truck when I can go to any Mexican business in San Diego? After all, San Diego is more than abundant in Mexican eateries.» Let me tell you why you need to try this taco truck.
It was my 2^nd time visiting this taco truck and I am still as blown away by the food as the first time I tried it. Arturo, the owner of the truck was also just as friendly and happy as the first time I saw him.
First of all, the taco truck’s menu is all in Spanish. That’s how you know you are about to receive an authentic Mexican meal. I immediately teased myself by ordering a fish (pescado) taco that he freshly battered and fried. WOW. The fish taco was to die for. The fish was not even close to dry, an indication that fresh fish is being used. Also, the batter was seasoned well, crispy, and not too thick. It was perfection. With the addition of his homemade tortillas and freshly cut vegetables, it was like a symphony in my mouth. My only regret is that I did not or a 2^nd. Or 3^rd. Or 4^th.
I also decided to try the shrimp (camarón) tostada. When it came out the colors of all the vegetables and shrimp stood out to me. What a beautiful treat to stare and and taste! It had a good citrus flavor, the shrimp was not overcooked, and best of all it was fresh.
You may be skeptical eating at a food truck parked in an odd location, but don’t be! Definitely try this. You will never see other fish tacos the same ever again.
As a final note, the location of his truck has moved to Broadway and 16^th.

New favorite truck. Awesome set up. Big clean tables that are covered. Appreciate it’s in a lot you can pull in and park. The truck is immaculate. The guy running this truck is the best. Super personable, generous and all over everything. Got a medium mixed cocteles and it was impressive.
The medium was a perfect size. Incredibly generous with the best mix possible. The clamatos was so fresh I was drinking out of the cup which I’ve never done before. Loved sopping it all up with the tostadas. He aims to impress and follows up asking you. Lots of pride and hard working being put in to build his business. Run here. You won’t be disappointed. Best truck I’ve been to and in my top 3 cocteles anywhere!
