Aside from the small hair in my chips, this place is totally legit. Food was good, I had the omelette and my girlfriend had the taco combo. Refried beans and the rice, get extra, you’re going to want more. The waitress was older and nice to be around, and obviously knew the menu well because she didn’t even write down our order and only forgot to bring us one thing. Oh, soda is by the can, so order at least two.

These guys just get it! If your interested in mexican style breakfast this is the best around! Trust me I have tried most of the others, and they always come up short. Try the machaca, or chorizo plate, and you will agree!

This mom and pop shop is awesome! We ordered to go and the food was delicious. My friends loved the breakfast burritos with added sausage and bacon and my pork chop was yum! But the best part of this place wasn’t the food but the cute lady who was helping us. She was so nice and helpful! I’d go back just to see her.

Love this place. It isn’t fancy on the inside but it’s always clean. The original owner and her family still run it. They have all the original old photos on the wall from the 50s. So awesome! The chilaquiles and huevos rancheros are GREAT! cash only for tip though!

I came into this café twice now. And wanted to write a review, I really like how this place is a hole in the wall. Its located by city college by the salvation army thrift store. After shopping with my boyfriend we were both hungry. The first time I came here the service was a little slow, but then again we were the last ones to come in before they closed. I had their French toast it was really filling, while my boyfriend had their $ 6 dollar burger. It was an okay experience. The second time I came in I was hungry craving for pork chop. My boyfriend got the same burger. I got the pork chop, hash browns, eggs, toast and jelly for $ 9! The service was really good our service was really nice. Honestly I could have given them a give star if they gave my boyfriend a pretty good amount of fries like they did before. The pork chop was a little dry. But over all I was very content. I would give this place a 4 ½ stars if I could. I would come back again if I’m in the area! I recommend it :)

I hope this place diner never closes. I LOVEDEVERYTHING. I ate the Breakfast Special with a side of homemade salsa. The salsa was especially impressive. I asked if I could purchase a pint to take home, but they make only so much each morning. Perhaps I could try back at a better time to request a pint to take home. Also, the customer service is lovely. I visited on my ways somewhere, I live in a different area of San Diego. I can’t wait to go back.

Very satisfied with the food and the service. It is a diner so expect diner food and you won’t be disappointed. Excellent service.

The hosts were extremely nice. The general American food was okay, but this is not the point. People said that the Mexican foods there are really great, but I have been to many places with better tastes of Mexico. I tried the asada burrito, which was not much different from the quality of one from any LA sports bar. Next time I’d probably try their pork /lamb chops, which are supposed to be better.

My grandparents have been coming here since forever! They have a really good breakfast special and are really nice. It is cool to have a little diner near the work place changes things up a bit. Great value, generally quiet and the staff are nice cute older people.

When I go to a diner, I expect some level of grease with my food that I is part of the appeal of diner food. I decided to go to this restaurant for breakfast recently expecting the usual level of greasy but delicious food. This diner however served food that was almost inedible. I ordered both hash and eggs. When my food arrived, I notice my fried eggs were covered in grease as was the hash. I ate the eggs but found the hash to be overly greasy. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I had breakfast there with friends that have been going there for YEARS! The basic breakfast I had was delicious. I couldn’t have made it better at home! It’s an old fashioned diner that makes good home cooked meals. I’m going back soon as I hear they have GREAT chili rellenos. Better get there fast as it will not be there long because it’s slated for new development.

An average diner with a Mexican food flair. Fairly cheap, clean with a friendly staff. No frills but a do-over for some cheap eats.

Its a small restaraunt with great service and food. The waitresses were very polite and were on point with the service. The food is really good. I had the 4 egg sausage omelet, it was delicious and I recommend it to anyone who loves a good egg breakfast. My friend ordered the waffles and she thought it was really good. Perfect spot for an inexpensive yet tasty meal.

Love their porkchops! Definitely gives you the vibe of an old coffee shop from way back when(seriously, take a look at their cash register from like the mid 1900s lol), which is nice because the people are quite warm. Love their pork chops although they do take a bit longer to make. Always visit this place when I’m around the area.

This place is great. Super affordable food and really sweet couple who run the place. The food is very basic diner/home cooking and was really good. The woman owner gave us some delicious homemade salsa and extra tortillas too. Will definitely be back!

If you want a no pretense, diner(I repeat) diner experience this is it. It’s food is nothing special and the service is what you’d see at a diner in the movies. But if you want the diner experience go here. My favorite part was that the owner(also the server) always always always served my wife first. Took her order first, refilled her coffee first. Old fashioned diner at its best

Little hole in the wall. But honestly amazing. Service is sweet and attentive. Waiter asked where we came from and asked how our trip went. Prices are cheap. My Chilaquiles plate was only $ 7.50 with rice and beans. Continuously served us cold water because she knew how hungover we were lol. Cute mom and pop place totally worth it! EATHERE!

People who give this place less than four or five stars must have ordered white-folk breakfast. Stick with things in Spanish and you too can enjoy all that this place has to offer. First, I didn’t notice it as I walked by. It’s unassuming and hard to notice if you’re not looking for it. Second – yes, the plates and forks don’t match and it’s a little rough around the edges. But with Machaca like that and delicious huevos rancheros for $ 6.50, who really cares if your plate matches the person next to you? Our service was great, she was friendly and interested in our trip to San Diego. She offered advice and was prompt and attentive. If you have been here before and ordered bacon and eggs, come back for the Machaca.

A simple, pleasurable diner experience punctuated with warm, welcoming folks behind the counter. As soon as we came in we were greeted with hellos and general friendliness — from customers who chimed in on what we were thinking about ordering to different waiters & waitresses just checking up on how we were doing and topping up our coffees. The pork chop breakfast special was massive; a solid hunk of meat for around $ 10. Machaca for $ 8. Cooked and served up quickly. If you want a small-town diner moment in San Diego, this is it.

Not in the greatest part of downtown, but not to worry, this is a no frills, straight to the point diner. Breakfasts are reasonably priced and of generous quantity and quality. The location is diagonally across from the City College trolley station. You won’t find a better deal for breakfast, as the porkchop, 2 eggs, hashbrowns, toast special is 6.99 and the staff is very very nice! Will go there from now on when we are in town.
