Holy crap nuts, I believe. I’ve lived in South Park for over a year and for some reason have never been inspired by a seafood truck, judging it from afar as impossible-to-be-fresh and just generally weird. I’m dumb, and you are also dumb if you have just let it blend into the scenery without ever sampling some of this wonder. Is anyone talking about the shrimp+top sirloin burrito? One of the most expensive things on the menu, but it sounded too good to be true for less than $ 9 so I tempted probability, and WON. How I won! Those are some fresh ingredients, Mariscos. Way to grill my burrito perfectly, compile exactly correct amounts of ingredients perfectly, and fill me up perfectly. I also have to mention this burrito contained the freshest most succulent avocado experience I can remember in a long time, even for Southern California. Mariscos, I vow to eat you every single day. ****HEYGUYS: TIPTHESEPEOPLEWITHDOLLARBILLS. THEYGIVEUSSOUPANDWICKEDDELICIOUSHOMEMADECONDIMENTSFORFREEEEE! If you don’t tip them, you’re not a good person. Awesome Food Truck featuring fish tacos, seafood and ceviche. You walk up to the food truck and smiling faces greet you. After you place your order they hand you a cup filled with a light red, tomato based soup. The soup has bits of seafood, and mint. It’s tasty and it’s free. I didn’t know I loved pulpo(aka octopus) until I had the ceviche mixte. Chunks of chewy pulpo were dispersed among the tender citrus marinated fish and shrimp. Each bite offered textural satisfaction. My fish taco was generously sized and the fried fish wasn’t overly greasy and overwhelming. Topped with cabbage, tomatoes and a creamy sauce, you can enjoy them as is or add a kick with one of the available salsas. A really yummy eating experience at a San Diego Food Truck.

We did a «Fish Taco Crawl» here in SD… These Fish Tacos were one of the best on our crawl. Great green sauce, Great tortillas flour and corn. People were so friendly and the casual food truck vibe was great! We will revisit every time we can!

Saw this food truck passing by South Park(Located next to Captain Kirk’s Coffee) and just had to check them out. I had the FISHTACOS — delicious. Fish was nice and crisp, well-seasoned, the taco was well-garnished, and it didn’t need any hot sauce or salsa(unless you want a kick). I also tried the shrimp tostada — fully loaded with avocado, tomatoes, and cucumber bits. The tostada was light and refreshing — just tasty! I liked how they also give free soup while you wait(I had a fish based one — I don’t know if this changes). Overall, I am still craving the fish taco. Definitely coming back to get some more — plus I want to try the shrimp ceviche.

This place reminds me of Ensenada… Awesome ceviche tostadas(mixed is 5.75 as of dec 2014). Excellent fish tacos with a light and crisp batter. The guys here are super friendly, now they accept Visa/MC/AMEX. I secretly BYO in an opaque cup with a straw… But they do have Mexican coke and Jarritos. 9:30 — 7:30

Whenever we head to San Diego I immediately crave fish tacos, it’s a no-brainer. I read some rave reviews about this truck and it was really close to where we were staying so we knew it would be on the docket. We had a busy day at the zoo so we stopped on our way home and grabbed some take out tacos. I loved the little set up of chairs with stools in front of them, which act as tables. We went with 3 fried fish tacos, 3 seafood tacos(1 grilled fish, 1 fried fish, and 1 fried shrimp), and a shrimp tostada. The fried fish tacos were fantastic, the only thing missing with a nice bit of avocado but I“m addicted to avocado and want it on everything. The fried shrimp taco was even better, so rich and delicious. They were all fried to perfection and topped with some cabbage, crema, and a mild salsa. The grilled fish taco was not great, in fact I think we barely touched it. We were both stuffed after eating almost 3 tacos a piece, so we ended up having the tostada as a late night snack. The tostada was absolutely delicious. It was everything I wanted it to be, rich and limey with bits of onion and tomato and chunks of shrimp. It was also packed with a ton of avocado, which added a nice creamy aspect and made me super happy. I would definitely recommend this truck for a cheap and delicious lunch or even a late night snack!

I have found a new love of my life in this food truck. I had to give it a try after all of the rave fish tacos reviews on Unilocal.I will admit that the positive reviews are spot on. A great fish taco, for a really good price. I’m also a huge fan of the shrimp ceviche. They give you a giant cup of ceviche with tostada shells for under $ 4. I still can’t believe it was so good and so cheap. Watch out for their salsas. I love the chipotle salsa. I could probably eat that on anything. The green salsa is not mild by any means, so be careful if you are sensitive to heat. I brought cash because I thought it was cash only, but it looks credit cards are accepted here. I parked in the grocery store lot and took my food to go. They do have bar stools, but it was a full house at lunch time.

I think I need to go back to this place and try the fish tacos sans any salsa. It seems that the salsa options are either«mayonnaisey» or «hot», which I found out after dousing each of my tacos with the green stuff. That’s not mild tomatillo nor avocado salsa… Oops! Despite drowning out the flavor that the fried fish may have offered or what seemed like a handmade tortilla, I could tell that, for $ 1.50 for the basic fish on corn tortilla taco, you truly get a great deal. Unlike the little $ 1 tacos at most taco trucks, this place serves a larger taco, probably about 3.5″ in diameter, with a generous portion of fresh fish and toppings. You really can’t go wrong there except if you add too much hot salsa and aren’t used to it. ;) Other than that, for a bit more moolah, you can indulge in a taco made with shrimp($ 2.75) or marlin($ 3.75) or try one of each along with the basic fish taco by ordering the trio($ 7.00). Bottom line: The tacos give you a great portion, and with at least the basic fish tacos, you get a slam dunk for the price. Just beware of the salsas. They don’t have the best spectrum of choices like the taco trucks you may be used to. Oh, and P. S., they don’t have any meat tacos, just seafood.

So… seeing the yummy sauces, I had to slather my fish tacos in it. Since none of these were labeled, it’s a guessing game as to which sauce is the hottest sauce. Well, I lost… to this day, I still don’t know which one was the habanero sauce. My mouth was on fire. Tears came to my eyes. Tears of pain and suffering. But the fish tacos were GREAT! :)

Hands down the best fish tacos in San Diego. Not only that but they are cheap! I ordered 2 last week and I couldn’t even finish the second. Also ask for their free soup, its good and holds you over while you’re waiting!

Among the best food trucks I’ve ever had– order the Baja trio, three tacos for $ 6 or $ 7, one each of fried fish, fried shrimp, and marlin, with all the toppings and sauces they select. They are all phenomenal. Even better with an ice-cold Mexican Coke. Service is super friendly and genuine, and truck has fresh limes and marinated red onions to customize your taco flavors, along with several different fresh salsas and sauces. Yeah, you’re eating on a stool in a parking lot, but I guarantee you’ve never had better than their marlin taco– the burrito is well with the $ 6. EDIT: now known as Nine Seas Mariscos, different business listing.

YOU. You right there. Put down that disgrace of a fish taco down wherever you are and never eat there again. COMEHERE! I love this food truck. It’s authentic, delicious and CHEAP. When I want good fish tacos I usually have to go down south to Chula Vista, National City, San Ysidro etc but when I’m in the area or don’t want to venture down there this is the place to come. It’s in the parking lot of GALA, a Mexican supermarket in South Park. I’ve only had the fish tacos and they are amazing. For a buck and some change these suckers are beautifully battered and brown and crispy. They’re not some little dinky tacos either for the price. For 5.60 I got three fish tacos, a bottled water AND they serve FREE cups of Cozomel(fish broth) when you place your order. They have a have a little bar with a variety of sauces, limes, salt and onions and peppers to add to your food. They have chairs to sit down but no tables. Instead grab a chair stool and improvise. Forget rubios, all the commercial restaurants y’all go to for taco Tuesday, quit glorying all the overhyped food trucks and enjoy humble places like Mariscos German. Tip these ladies they work hard, please and thank you.

I’ll echo the other reviews and just say, this place is great for fish tacos. YUM. I went there a couple weeks ago, and they went up to 1.50 per taco instead of 1.25, but for the freshness of the fish and the size of the taco, and free cup of seafood soup that comes with every order, it’s a GREATDEAL. i got a shrimp taco, fish taco, and ceviche. They were all excellent, the fish and shrimp were both fresh. I’d prefer that the shrimp were less fried though,(a lot of batter for the shrimp) but i peeled it off and the shrimp were butterflied and huge still. The ceviche was also excellent, very fresh. My boyfriend got a grilled shrimp taco and the shrimp were huge and fresh. All so good, will definitely come again the next time I visit. THe only downside is the average seating. there are only plastic chairs, with little stools to use as table. We bought a beer at Gala Market, and enjoyed our food and beer after a short walk at Balboa Park.

5REASONSWHYCHUN P ***HATES!!!*** FOODTRUCKS: 1) It always ends up costing $ 10 – 15, and there’s better brick-mortar eateries for cheaper. $ 4 for Fries? Dafuq? 2) Smaller Portions, usually: so the $ 10 – 15 you just spent is really more like $ 15 – 20 since you get less food and calories. 3) Food itself is usually overhyped and overated… people think its special just because its cooked in a truck. 4) Eat standing up, or get your butt wet sitting on some lawn. 5) Afterwards you got sticky hands with no place to wash them. But NOT Mariscos German(Nine Seas now?)…My hearty $ 8.50 meal was FanFUCingtastic! :D $ 0.00 Fish Soup… This fish soup had quite a hardy amount fish for something thats FREE :D $ 2.25 Fish Ceviche… this would’ve been $ 8 – 10 at a Cohn Restaurant(Indigo Grill). I was shocked at the hearty portion. $ 1.50 Fish Taco…2X better than Rubio’s fish taco, half the cost, so its basically FOUR times better than Rubio’s. $ 4.75 Marlin Taco… I balked at first, but you Unilocalers did not fail me: It really is TWO tacos worth! I will be bold and say that this is also thee BEST fish taco in San Diego! :D EXTRAS: Chairs and stools so there’s actually places to sit. Wetnaps so your hands aren’t sticky afterwards. FREE fish soup! :D Like Rossi H. and Nick T., I think this is the one of the few food trucks that matters, the rest of them are all hype and ripoffs.

I recently came here after a trip to the zoo, and I have to say that I was quite impressed. This small food truck pulls quite a crowd, and that should come without surprise considering the good food, generous portions, and cheap prices. I tried their fish tacos, while my girlfriend had the mixed ceviche. The ceviche was impressive, there was a ton of octopus along with some shrimp and fish. She really enjoyed it, and the portion filled her and took care of her seafood craving. I was particularly impressed that the tostada remained crunchy despite being drenched in the ceviche. The fish tacos I had were excellent as well. It was a bit more battered up than I would like, but it was still fairly good and they give large chunks of fish in it. The truck also offers a free soup, and I highly recommend taking it. It’s quite good and there’s even pieces of fish in there! There isn’t much seating at this location, and their tables are just a few bar stools. It’d be convenient to order take out however and just grab some food to go. I definitely hope to go there again sometime to eat more of their fish tacos!

I have been waiting to try this place out for years! My uncle recommended this place because this is one of his go-to places in San Diego. I went on a Friday around noon and the line wasn’t too bad when I was there but there was a line forming around 12:30pm. We tried their: Mixed Seafood Ceviche($ 5.75): I was amazed by how much seafood was in this dish. It was filled with perfectly seasoned shrimp, tons and tons of octopus, and pieces of fish. The tostada pieces that came with it was really good as well and worked really well with the ceviche. Definitely try this dish out if you’re a fan of seafood. Fish Tacos($ 1.75 for flour): These fish tacos were pretty big portion-wise. In terms of flavor, it was pretty good. Not the best that I’ve had but for the price it was good. They offer complimentary cups of fish soup that was delicious as well. There was so much flavor in the soup. Yumm! This food truck is located on the parking lot of a grocery store but you won’t miss it when you see the crowd around the food truck. They also offer a couple of tables and chairs which is great :) I can’t wait to go back again!

Fish tacos. You what I’m talking about. Soft shell, piece of fish of unknown origin deep fried in seasoned batter, cole slaw, some chopped tomatoes and herbs… maybe some sauce. How good can it be? Well, ridiculously good! Mariscos German truck is located on a parking lot in front of the grocery store. There is free parking just down the street — no need to pay for the parking lot. It is not far from the San Diego Zoo so it’s a perfect place to indulge prior to going there so that you can walk all those calories off:) We came around lunch time and the truck was crowded with locals, construction workers, Mexicans etc. First sign of a truly great place is when locals give it kudos. We ordered quite a few options of tacos but I have to say the cheapest one(the basic one with deep fried battered fish) was the best. Grilled fish one was not as good(whom am I kidding — you know it can’t be in the same line as a deep fried brother!), octopus one was very good. They have Coca Cola made with real sugar in Mexico. They have your Jarritos options as well(woot woot!). The whole feast came under $ 20 and the nice Mexican lady gave me a free soup to try(very kind of her!). They have a few sitting chairs scattered around otherwise you might have to eat standing. I got so hooked on those fish tacos I’ve been dreaming about those bastards every day of the trip! Now need to find a place in NYC that has at least something distantly close to Mariscos!

It was my lucky night. Although the sign prominently displayed Winter Hours 9 — 7p(which I didn’t see how it differed from regular hours, also listed as 9−7p), Mariscos German aka; Nine Seas was open and serving at 7:30p. I ordered the CRAZY ceviche and it was CRAZY good. It was a mix of all of the seafood, plus four oysters. I love it when my seafood comes out stacked and for only $ 9. Something of equivalent value and portion would be $ 25 at somewhere like Nobu, and it would be called«The Exquisite Raux Leaning Tower of Seafood.» Nope. Here at the roach coach, we call it like it is. Crazy. My buddy ordered the Marlin Tacos drenched in chipotle sauce. I didn’t realize they were double bagged in double tortilla, and questioned his carb aversion. Oh no Unilocalers, there are actually two tortillas per taco — they are THAT dense. After having a taste of his taco(hey now Unilocalers, we’re still G rated up in here even though we be crazy), I had to indulge in my own chipotle sauce on the side. Counterproductive to ceviche, but for the last time — it was CRAYCRAY! I also tried the green jalapeño sauce on the side. Both sauces accented the surreptitious dips of succulent shrimp nicely. We closed the truck down which is no small feat, considering it was already supposed to be closed upon arrival. Amusing side note: Apparently, there is an adorable resident truck dog that I might have accidentally(slightly) stepped on. I apologize, I am not responsible for my ceviche induced euphoria that causes lack of motor control and night blindness. The dog is OK, but consider yourself warned. This little guy came out of nowhere. I was unable to finish my portion considering it was my 10th mini-meal of the day(pssh) but I will thoroughly be looking forward to it for my 11th mini-meal of the day.

This place was so GOOD that we had to come here twice during our short visit to SD. I’ll admit, I’m a total noob when it comes to fish tacos and ceviche, but all I know is that my taste buds and tummy were both doing the happy dance after our meals. They start you off with some complimentary seafood soup as you wait for your order… hot and savory, the perfect way to whet your appetite and prep it for all the goodness that’s about to come. The first time around, I ordered the garlic fish and the governor taco. My hubby ordered a garlic shrimp taco along with the mixed ceviche tostada, so I had the chance to sample all four. One word… SLAMMIN. The garlic fish was my favorite. Grilled flaky fish filet, perfectly seasoned and surrounded by all the scrumptious taco toppings(cabbage, red onions, pico, cilantro, etc.). The mixed ceviche tostada was my second fave and to die for. This was the freshest, yummiest seafood ceviche I’ve ever tasted. It came with two crispity corn tortilla shells and a few slices of avocado. So fresh, so good! During my second visit, I tried the beef and shrimp burrito. This was by far the STAR of the show! It comes in two sizes, large or small. I opted for the small one, but immediately regretted not ordering the large one after my first bite… A MUST try! They also have a bunch of different sauces with different heat levels… the redder the color, the spicier, so choose wisely! My favorite combo was the green and the lightest of the red sauces. Wash everything down with some Mexican pineapple soda and you’re golden! Oh yeah. the portions are HUGE! Come hungry.
