Unfortunately the poor service is overpowering the fantastic food! Everything I get here is amazing! And the service fricking sucks! No care for the customer and no sense of urgency with food! It sits on the window ledge for a few minutes before they get off their phones and serve it. I will suffer further through said mediocre service to enjoy the fabulous food! You win this time Los Panchitos

Dirty place. Resturant smells really bad. We went to wash our hands in the bathroom and that smelled horrible also. Dirty tables and all around nasty. After leaving the bathroom we told the employee, the bathroom is nasty and smelly. He did nothing, but went in the bathroom to do his business and then went back to work. sigh. I’m surprised this place is still open for business.

«Cash Only» = - California Burrito is smaller than other Taco Shops, food tastes ok, but overpriced for what you get. Wide people can’t sit, on inside tables, my belly rests against the table, on outside tables, my big butt gets stuck on ugly green metal chairs. Fatties are not welcome here, I guess, even when we are the best eaters.

Ok. Minus a star for bad service and food that wasn’t cooked. The enchilada had cold cheese inside WTF? Seriously is it that hard to cook your food? The food otherwise was fine, Nothing stellar.

What kind of establishment chooses to refuse accepting credit cards after 9pm? I just don’t get it. I get it if it was cash, but have been here at least a dozen times, all drunk, and forgotten that they have a no card policy after 9pm, and have had to forego my order because I refuse to use their ATM and pay ridiculous fees. I just want a BURRITO!

Got a pollo asada burrito, it was pretty good. Standard, not as dirty Mexican food spot. The only accept cash, so be ready. Service was decent, nothing much to complain about there.

Really 2 stars, but 3 stars b/c this place is more for late night drunk food. If you’re out in downtown SD, and you’re looking for cheap grub, check out this place; otherwise, I would not recommend for lunch/dinner.

Ordered Carne Asada fries and was disappointed. They used like nacho cheese or queso on the fries X

Crappy service and processed cheese. Was excited to find this place was disappointed to eat there for the most part. I wish the menu at a decent set of nachos on it. I asked them to do the vegetarian quesadilla on chips and there was a lot of confusion and chaos that followed. It was also pricey. I’ll probably not go back just because I felt like I paid a lot of money to order something bad and had a headache doing so. If they just rework the menu a little a lot of my crappy experience would have been avoided. Anyway, I can’t say it’s all bad but it’s definitely some bad.

I am local & wanted something quick. I ordered a burrito & drink & was told that there is a minimum of $ 10 to use my debit. I had to add French fry even though I really did not want it. My order came to like $ 11.00 Half way thorough I asked for refill on soda and was told that there is a charge of $ 1.50. I feel ripped off. Will not come back And would not recommend this place. Bathroom had no paper towel, toilet seat cover and nasty.

This place is horrible. Only reason we came here was because we were staying at the hotel right next door and thought Mexican food in SD cant go wrong. Yeah right our fail. Wife had carne asada tacos and she said they were the worst she has ever had and let me tell you we have eaten at some bad places. I had the chile relleno burrito and it was crap. The chile relleno they stuffed in there not only had the huge stem still on it but was not breaded and had no filling. All I could taste was oregano. My daughter had the taquitos AKA rolled tacos and she hated then said they were gross. My son had the quesadilla and he actually liked it but come on its cheese and tortilla how can you screw that up. Only good thing about this place is it was cheap. Thats it. So if you want bad food at a reasonable price head on in.

Wow. A diamond in the rough! We had the carne aside burrito with three rolled tacos. Could have fed two! Very flavorful. They could definitely use more seating. And be careful, they charge for drink refills.

This place is A-OK, I’d see myself coming back for a burrito every now and then. Pros — GREATPRICES! $ 5 burrito! — fresh, homemade tortillas — great refried beans — great plain Spanish rice — lovely service, the counter and kitchen staff seem very happy — good straight-forward veggie burrito without extra stuff to conflict with the texture(vegan version: refried beans, rice, guac, pico, and lettuce) Cons — if you want just one, frugal burrito, you gotta pay cash(must be over $ 10 to use card). — none of the salsas taste good! This is unfortunate because I love chips and salsa while I wait! They save me from those calories though I guess!

Came here late one night after a very long day at Comic Con. It’s right next door to our hotel, so of course we would stop here, right? Dude – SUCH good food. I got the panchitos burrito and it was amazing. They weren’t skimpy on anything, including guacamole. It was a good sized burrito and I ended up taking the last portion of it back to the hotel and eating it for lunch the following day. The wait time was a bit long, but I think that has to do with it being a pretty late night and suddenly they were bombarded with all the people off our Comic Con shuttle bus. I don’t think they realized so many of us would want to go there to eat. But they were extremely friendly, and a guy(the owner?) was handing out the food while the girl was taking orders at drive thru and inside. They were both very friendly. It’s a good price for what you get, too – the burrito I got was like $ 6 I think, and since I was able to eat it for two meals I’m pretty darn happy with that price. Definitely go here. It’s delicious and really easy to get to.

I just posted a picture of one of the workers chowing down on her food in front of everyone and customers while I was sitting at the drive through. This cannot be sanitary! And we also sat at the drive thru for 12 minutes when we were the only ones there. So gross

Discovered this place recovering from a hang over. the Good: Very healthy and filling portions of good food. Almost all of the signs and staff T-shirts say«Eat my Burrito», so you go and eat a burrito. My carnitas was taaaaasty. Guacamole inside it was fresh(always a good thing when you are hung over and nauseous… you can appreciate quality even more). the Bad: This is me being nit picky. The place can do shrimp burritos and shrimp quesadillas, but nooooo they cannot do shrimp soft tacos. WTH? It’s the same thing, in a different tortilla. the Ugly: Limited drinks. If you say something is on your menu, and you have run out, it doesn’t make you look competent. Especially when you do this during LUNCH/BRUNCH. You guys should be well stocked for drinks. You run out late in the evening, a few hours before your close. Not at peak dining hours. Go for the grub.

I live close by to LP but have never found myself at the right level of drunk or hungover to actually go. This place would rank as a spot to check out if you are still ok enough to not want to go to Jbox. I decided after the beer fest I went to that I was at the best I was ever going to be to give them a whirl. What I noticed: — They have the loudest drive thru speaker ever. I could hear it as I walked up. — They serve wine and beer. — Popular with law enforcement, I was behind two cops in line. It took everything I had not to ask them a bunch of questions about their lives and jobs. I settled in for just listening in on their conversation, and yes I know that makes me seem creepy. Secret is out! — The menu is super long. -$ 10 minimum for using a credit card. — My cashier tried to talk me out of getting my $ 3.98 in change back. So weird. Keep your wits about you. I ended up getting a kids quesadilla and fries meal for like $ 3.50. Truly awful. The fries were not even crispy. Yeah I know, fries and a Mexican place but it isn’t like they are some hard to execute food. Don’t offer them if they are going to suck so badly. Verdict? Only for children who you dislike but not so much where you will starve them. I also got a veggie burrito for about $ 5. It had that fake guacamole spread and was not that great. It was a large size and did the job so that was helpful. They do have a salsa bar. The day I went they had carrots and peppers which was nice. Other reviews said they didn’t but I guess they stepped up their game. Overall I’m doubtful I will return, though I might. There are better options in the area for cheap Mexican food.
