Very fun laid back class. Davina and the other teachers all had a great attitude and were very helpful. The class was at a bar so we were able to enjoy drinks, bar snacks, and watch the game in the background! Will definitely do to another class soon

This is my third time doing a live art event but this tops it off by using a blacklight! Great idea Davina! My friends and I make it an annual thing to try a paint and vino event but this class was THE BEST! We had such a fun time learning the brush techniques and getting 1:1 time from the instructors. Davina and her assistants made this a truly fun experience. We even used neon paint to make our art pieces pop!
I would highly recommend trying Davina’s classes. She greets you with a smile and makes you feel like family. Thanks for hosting a fun and memorable live art session. Ohh and by the way I forgot to mention we got to add glitter!!!
The location at True North was chill and had great music in the background, something you can easily groove to.

I have painted with Davina 3 or 4 times, and I have had a blast every time! She makes painting very easy for a new painter, and my paintings have been pretty enough to hang on my wall or give as gifts!
The painting sessions are at different locations, some you can bring your own wine or beer, other places you can buy there, and there’s always food options as well!
The last time I painted with Davina’s assistant, CJ, leading the class of a beast of the water scene (a water scene w a cool dragon coming out of the water). My friend and I had a great time and CJ was friendly and an awesome teacher.

Davina was amazing! I took my 7 year old daughter, my mom, and sister and it was an awesome family outing. Her and her assistant were so helpful. The whole experience was relaxing and fun! Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back! :)

What a great experience. Davina makes you feel like a friend rather than a student. She shows you step by step instruction to paint an outstanding picture and walks around for individual help and attention. I highly recommend this class! I will be back!

Davina made my wedding day extra special. I hired her months in advance to do a live painting of my ceremony. She and her assistant took photos at the ceremony and then painted a 3 ft custom canvas of the event at the reception. She had all the guests sign tiny shells which she affixed to the corners of the breathtaking masterpiece. She also used glow in the dark paint for the sky. I can’t wait to update this review with a picture! The guests loved watching her work, and she was so enthusiastic to do the work. Not only do I get a custom piece to remember my wedding day, but I also get a sign in book!

Davina continues to be amazing. My bf and I did a painting class with her in north park and I’m not sure who loved it more. She had a guy helping her who was also very helpful. The place was a little loud but she or her helper made sure to come to each of us. Let’s just say I’m not the best artist but my painting didn’t come out horrible. My bf was definitely better than mine would ever be.

Oh my gosh i had so much fun!!! I brought my two kids to paint the «Wave of Passion» and had a blast!!! My kids were impressed by their talents and they had so much fun. Davina is fun and kind! She showed us how to do specific parts of the painting very well!!! Loved this class– loved that it was in a relaxed environment. I am definitely coming back!!!

Davina and CJ are the BEST. I was really nervous but they both made me feel at ease. They are both very accommodating. Davina lets you be creative and you don’t have to copy what everyone is doing. Our group was doing a «vortex» beach scene and my friend and I decided to do a crashing wave instead. Davina had CJ show us how to paint a crashing wave. They are both very helpful and will give you great tips. They don’t make you feel bad for being a beginner or asking for a TON of help. They are great with kids also. Both of my kids were upset that they just had their birthday parties because they want to have a paint party next year for their birthday party. Which is pretty amazing because one child is 9 and one is 14 and they can’t agree on anything!!! Thank you Davina and CJ for a fun night! :)

We had Davina do a private paint party for our company – 20 nerdy civil engineers that are not comfortable «coloring outside the lines». We had a BLAST! Davina was wonderful – and excellent instructor, a ton of fun and very supportive and complimentary throughout the process. She demonstrated every step of the painting process and then walked around and gave us individual tips and techniques. We loved that we could add more than just paint to our canvas, including glitter, shells, stones and other fun additions, allowing for a lot of texture and fun, multimedia painting.
Every single one of our staff that attended, from young to old, expressed how much fun the class was and wanted to know when the next one was. It was an excellent idea for a corporate team building event and Davina was the right person for the job. I highly recommend Davina.

Wow!!! My coworker and I decided to try something different and signed up for davinas paint night that was being held at legacy. Davina was an absolute pleasure. From beginning to end, we were having constant fun and laughter. Davina makes you feel wonderful about your art and even helps you get what your wanting. I cannot wait to take the class again!

I only had fun here because I tried hard to make the best of a bad experience.
My groupon cost ended-​up being the same price as the door price. They wouldn’t start the class until a full half hour after it was supposed to start, because she said we were waiting for people who were stuck in traffic. Ten minutes after the class was supposed to start, Davina had her assistant give her 2 friends a discounted canvas and start teaching them while the rest of us sat around not knowing what to do. Twenty minutes in, I was getting really frustrated, and I started just painting a little on my own b/​c it seemed crazy that we hadn’t started yet. She came and told me I was wasting my time b/​c we were going to do a particular technique first where we painted the whole background a swirl of colors. Ten more minutes later (30 minutes after we were supposed to start), the remaining 2 people she was waiting for finally got there. She taught us the beginning swirl technique for the background, but never taught us any more steps for our paintings, except to tell us to paint a city skyline on top of it. When I asked for help, her and her assistant both painted on my canvas instead of showing me a technique on their own canvas. (Meanwhile the couple who started early were working with the assistant the whole time, step-​by-​step, for their entire painting, while I always had to ask if I wanted any help) I didn’t appreciate them just swooping by and painting across my painting. The whole event ended up lasting a half hour longer than it was supposed to, because everyone needed the full 2 hours to work on their paintings. Painting is fun and relaxing and the restaurants that they have the classes in are fun, but the class was poorly orchestrated and they didn’t teach anything more than how to do the initial background. Davina was energetic and complimentary to everyone’s painting and seemed like a generally nice person (despite pushing hard to get people to buy more or larger canvasses to paint on), but the class wasn’t planned well, and I couldn’t believe we waited 30 minutes for 2 people who were late instead of starting without them.

My friends and I had a great time taking a painting class with Davina and her assistants. They are all so patient, cheerful and helpful. Everything was provided: paints, canvas, brushes, and helpful staff was around to help as well. We had a great time!!! the class exceeded my expectations. I will be taking another class with Davina very soon! THANK YOU for a great 1^st experience! Can’t wait to come back again!

If i could give 0 stars I would. My boyfriend, cousin and I went to Davina for a fun night out, boy were we wrong. First, we were asked if we wanted to upgrade our canvas because Davina would be using the bigger canvas and it would be easier to follow along, we agreed. When we get inside, it turns out she is not using the same size canvas we had just upgraded to! Talk about a scam. In addition, she didn’t demonstrate anything, instead she pranced around being very loud and only paying attention to the more drunk and rowdy tables. When she did get to us, she just took the paintbrush out of my hand and painted on my canvas!!! I did not appreciate that at all, I do not understand what artist would ever think it was okay to just paint on someone else’s canvas. Her assistants were nice, but the guy was way too friendly which made my boyfriend very uncomfortable and Pixie seemed stand-​offish and rude when asked for assistance.

A nice experience for everyone — singles, couples and families.
Davina and her assistants create a nice environment, with enjoyable live music during the session. There were about 15 students present and everyone had a good time. She gives instructions and demonstrates the techniques and encourages each person to do their own interpretation and experimentation.
Davina’s helper, Pixie, is a free spirit and artist, who along with Davina, offers help and advice on an individual basis. They generate a creative energy and everyone in the group draws on the enthusiasm.
Once you attend a session, you will want to go back for more.

Took a class yesterday to celebrate my mom’s bday. Was a total blast. Davina is so talented and has this great contagious positive energy. We all had such a great time and made some nice art pieces. Davina is fabulous!!!

Bought a Living Social deal and had no problems with booking the class I wanted. Davina was a sweetheart and even went the extra mile, knowing my purchase was a birthday surprise for my mother, and gave her a larger canvas for free, decorated the tables with birthday party favors, and even made mini birthday cupcakes! The class was fun and everyone was helpful, walking around and giving ideas and pointers. Davina was so encouraging and made you feel as though your little piece of work was a masterpiece. I definitely recommend the experience for something different and fun!

Apparently there were people with a very different experience then I had…
1) Choosing a class– my friend and I bought the groupon and chose a class. We were told that it was an additional $ 20/​person for that class because it included a complimentary upgrade in the canvas, an appetizer, & glass of wine… I did not want an upgrade and to the best of my knowledge, $ 20/​person does not qualify as complimentary
2) we arrive after having a lot of difficulty finding parking, pay our additional $ 20 (now totaling the same amount if we hadn’t bought the groupon) and we ask about our free appetizer and drink that we were told about when we scheduled… nope, didn’t exist. My friend and I she’ll out more money for our food & drink and by now we’re both a little frustrated by the amount we are spending after having a groupon…
3) the painting– I enjoy more realistic paintings and when I asked if I could paint my wave blue & green instead of purple & orange I was told no and that I should stay with the class and could later add more blues and greens if I wanted… later never came
4) she came around and have attention to everyone, but apparently felt that it was ok to pick up a paintbrush and add to my painting… I now have black in my wave where I did not want it… black is not easily painted over… so it stayed. When I told her I didn’t like how it looked she told me to «take a step back» because I was «too close to see it’s beauty.»
I have «my painting“hung on the wall and every time I look at it all I can see is the additions she made to it… not cool and I would not recommend her. There are a lot of other great art classes that are much more reasonably priced and do not paint on your painting…

Dear Davina, We had such an amazing time at my Baby Shower. Everybody loved it and it was great that they could take home a slice of life. Most never painted, so it was good to bring out there artistic side they thought they didn’t have. Your crew, including Ron, were great. We will definitely recommend you.
