I drove around the airport parking lot for 20 minutes and there were absolutely zero spaces left. It was so crowded that there were many cars parked illegally at the end of parking rows. I went to the parking exit kiosk and the exit machine ate my parking stub saying it was unreadable. After waiting a few minutes, a voice came on the speaker asking me what the problem was. I explained about the machine and she directed me to return and go to a manned kiosk. So I drove up to a manned booth and the attendant asked me three different times if I had a ticket(parking stub). On my third time explaining to him that the machine ate it, he finally seemed to comprehend what I was saying and asked me which booth it was. I pointed it out to him and he walked off to go look for the missing stub, taking five minutes to help out a new driver who was also having problems with the same machine that ate my ticket. He then asked me what time I entered the lot and I again explained that I arrived approximately 20 minutes earlier and could not find a spot, so wanted to leave. He couldn’t locate the exact ticket, so had to get his supervisor on the radio to verify my license plate so she could determine EXACTLY what time I arrived.(They apparently need to account for every penny and there must be big bucks in trying to leave the lot without a parking stub.) So… after much back and forth as to why I was there(they wanted a written itinerary so I could prove I was picking someone up — which I did not have(never needed one before)), he was finally directed to write up a receipt and get my driving license info and have me sign it and pay $ 2. What a complete waste of time and inefficient, bumbling management to try to pick up passengers on an inbound flight. I will never use this lot again. Their machines don’t work and the people are not very helpful at all. It took me an additional 20 minutes waiting on the parking bureaucracy to pay $ 2 for zero parking to get out of the lot. There go 40 minutes of my life I will never retrieve.
