After encountering a couple of bars passing for restaurants, we were about to give up when we noticed Las Hadas next door. The greeter was informative and spirited. The wait-staff was on the money, responsive and attendant. Our food was prefaced with a hush puppy type cake that was marvelous. The dinner, exquisite. Plus, we ran into one of the ladies from The Shahs of Sunset; all in all, quite nice.

Looks like I had a common experience of trying to go to the restaurant next door which had a long wait and a not so friendly brief encounter. We checked Las Hadas and found the manager or someone who acts with management service who talked us into trying the restaurant. I was eating in a large group on split checks but the servers couldn’t have been more understanding or friendly the whole time. The food was excellent(I ordered the steak fajitas also had the chips & salsa with a complimentary appetizer). I’d recommend this place to anyone in the Gas Lamp looking for good food with great service.

My fiancé and I went here for dinner. We ordered: Slow Roasted Carnitas Plate, side of Green Beans, Enchiladas with Carne Asada, and Mojito. Service was efficient. The food was ready pretty quickly. The Mojito had very little alcohol, too much sugar and not enough lime. The lime was placed in the drink itself, which made it a little too bitter. I think they over shredded the mint. The green beans was a decent amount for a side dish. It was too greasy, but cooked fine. The Carnitas Plate was done well. The food was good and the portions were big. The Enchiladas were good as well. Our waitress brought us a complementary appetizer with our meals. Not sure why, but I thought it was pretty good. Some kind of cheese ball. Price was ok.

It is the word Happy in Happy Hour. Great food, drinks and most of all great price and value! I recommend the Fresh Chips and Guacamole for appetizer. Guacamole is smooth, tasty and delicious, paired with fresh salty nacho chips. Tacos are served with pico de gallo topped with house sauce. They serve fruity and classic Las Hadas Margaritas, both perfect for Mexican food pairing. Try the spicy margarita it’s bomb! Sevice is fast and genuinely friendly.

Pro tips: — Happy hour from Open — 7pm, 10pm — Midnight, and all day Sunday — Kitchen is open until midnight every day — Awesome Coronaritas($ 12) in multiple flavors I’ve been here a bunch of times and I’m finally getting around to writing a review. Las Hadas is a cool, casual spot with great happy hour specials at almost all hours of the day. It’s great for dinner and drinks with friends before the night begins, or a fun stop while bar hopping downtown. It’s pretty popular and it can get crowded but I’ve never had to wait for a table any of the several times I’ve been here. It isn’t the greatest Mexican food by any means but it’s cheap and the portions are pretty big. I usually get the nachos($ 8 during happy hour) and they’re big enough to share between two people. My favorite thing about this place, though, is the Coronarita — a delicious, refreshing, goblet-sized gift to the Gaslamp. Spend a Sunday afternoon enjoying a giant plate of nachos and an ice cold margarita on the patio in the beautiful San Diego weather and you’ll understand why they call it America’s Finest City.

Absolutely love coming here! The atmosphere is very social, welcoming, and relaxed. My friends and I come here before we decide to start our night. Pros: — staff is friendly and welcoming — drinks are strong — food is on point — the social crowd is pretty down to earth Cons: If you get there too late in the night, it could be tough to grab a drink. At some points, it could be too crowded to even find a place to stand. Still highly recommend this place!

The surf and turf fries were amazing. I would go here again just for them. The DJ that was there was horrible, but we went there for a late night dinner so we didn’t care too much. Parking is horrible but that’s because it’s downtown… It was clean. My only complaint was that it is really, really, dark in there, you can barely see what you’re eating. So just trust me and order the fries.

Awesome place to get Mexican food in Gaslamp! I came here last night with elite Maridel A., she had told me about this place before and I wanted to check it out for myself. I love how they were playing reggae music in the background? I don’t know if that’s their usual music but it made it fun to kick back and just let go of the day. They serve complimentary warm corn bread balls with a side of honey butter and salsa! It’s so good and yummy! I ordered the Lobster Quesadilla $ 16, I don’t see a lot of Mexican places serving lobster. Usually the go-to seafood for Mexican dishes is shrimp so it was nice to have a place incorporate lobster into their menu. They served it with sides of: sour cream, chipotle mayo?, guacamole with corn, and salsa with mango or pineapple? It was really good! I love how you can control what topping you put in your quesadilla! We were too full to order dessert but I definitely want to come back to try their deep-fried ice cream! The gentleman who works there(I believe he is the owner’s son?) was super friendly and polite! Always with a smile on his face! Keep it up! When you look like you’re happy and cheerful, it will rub off on your customers!

Great time at this place, not sure if it was because it was my birthday and I didn’t pay for any drinks… or was it the good company and food! None the less great time, can’t wait to go back!

SUPERLOUD ambiance. I literally had to yell across the table to talk to other members of my party Service was great though– alex was very attentive and constantly made sure we were all good. The food was also tasty! I had two chicken tacos with pineapple salsa and a beer, an order of guacamole(very fresh and avocadoes were so good), and they give you complimentary corn bread that’s rolled and fried like a donut hole(I can eat 10 of these) with salsa and butter to dip(both were good). The tacos are substantial, you get a side of beans and they add rice to it which is a little different. The flavors are on point, the chicken was juicy and they gave me jalapenos on the side for extra heat!

Awesome and friendly service. Our server Cori & and hostess Cassie was super friendly and great to have as our waitress for a bachelor party. The corn Fritas are amazing! The pork ribs are the best item we ate! Also the seafood nachos were great and the quality of the tortilla chips were excellent. The happy hour specials brought us here. Mixed premium drinks for $ 7 and margaritas for $ 5, sangria’s for $ 4 and much more

Carne Asada Fries — good, hearty french fries(thick) unlike the typical, meat is good(a bit saltier than I am used to) but comes with a small scoop of guac and sour cream on the side. Not quite the same as what you’d get outta Rigobertos or Vallarta’s, but still good!

Ummm… no ma’am…& no sir. This place is NOT the move. Im still in awe that so many people love this place! Maybe I need to meet up with y’all on Taco Tuesday cause I can’t believe y’all are OK with this. We finally had a day to explore the Gaslamp district & boy were we excited! We looked this spot up on Unilocal so of course we’d give it a try. Now I loooove me a good happy hour… ask anybody. So I was ready to get these orders in & get to it. We ordered the top shelf margarita & top shelf sangria. Whew… nasty…nasty…NASTY! Too much cheap wine & I’m sure some kind of store bought sangria mix… yuck. Now the margarita was bad too. Waaaay too much alcohol(I never thought I’d say this) and it seemed as if the sour mix was store bought. Each of these drinks didn’t taste fresh or handcrafted ATALL! Each drink tasted cheap, over powering with liquor, & full of store bought high fructose corn syrup mixers. Where’s the fresh fruit muddled together to give that authentic fresh taste? Obviously only on the drinks for garnish. Now onto the food. We ordered the steak & carnita fajitas for two. They were on special for $ 25.99 …mmm k. The food came out sizzling & we were ready to eat. The steak was pretty good. No real complaints there… but the carnitas? Bland! Now riddle me this… How is your pork not flavorful? Like at all! Its PORK! Its naturally salty. Hell, you can at least half a** it by throwing some pepper on it. It literally tasted as if they got the carnitas out of water. I wanted to cry. The ONLY reason I’m giving this place two stars is because of the nice hostess, somewhat nice bartender, & the OK tasting steak. Isn’t this the Gaslamp? Isn’t this downtown??? Shame on you for putting out this crap smh.

My girlfriend was visiting from out of state and wanted to try fish tacos. Since her hotel was right in Gaslamp, I felt like we should just stay in the area. I brought my family, this includes my two kids and so at 6 pm, we’re looking for a place to have dinner. We originally went to Las Puertas but they turned us away, no kids. I was shocked since well, it was only 6 pm, it wasn’t like we were out with them at 11 pm. That’s their choice. We came here and was hesitant at first but they said that they have high chairs and kids menus so we were thrilled. The hostess was very sweet to our kids and got us seated immediately. We got seated at the booth and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He asked us what we wanted to drink, brought us a high chair for my little one and got us waters before we can even look at the menu. After we put in our order, the waiter showed up with complimentary fried corn bread balls, which was really nice of them. I got the Baja fish tacos which are fried fish in a nice bed of taco yumminess. My husband and my friend got the regular fish tacos and loved it as well. They got two margaritas and I got the strawberry mojito, which was delicious. My daughters got waters and chicken fingers and fries to share. Our waiter did a great job checking up on us, the hostess and a few of the other waitresses came by to talk to our daughters. They told them to finish their chicken fingers so they can possibly get ice cream. Of course they didn’t finish it, so my husband told my daughters they don’t get ice cream. Immediately after, the waiter showed up with two bowls of ice cream for our kids, we just ended up laughing. I’m just grateful for restaurants like these in Gaslamp to cater to families. The service was just wonderful and that in itself would get me to come back.

It’s always great to walk into an establishment and be greeted by friendly service that will accommodate your needs. We were a party of 4 with a 4 year old. It must’ve been just past 6pm and we made a comment that we had just missed happy hour. No problem they said and honored HH specials! How awesome is that? I ordered the shrimp tacos with cilantro lime rice, black beans and jalapeño crema. Hold the pico! They were delivered on a flour tortilla and tasted very good. They didn’t skimp out on the shrimp either. Our margaritas were very good and not overly sweet. Our server was the best! She checked on us often to see if we needed anything and brought us extra napkins before even requesting any. Parents always need napkins so I always take notice at those little things.

The people here are super friendly! We enjoyed happy hour(I forget how much it was, but I had the sangria-yum!). As for entrees, I had the carne asada soft tacos, along with the carne asada fries(love my meat!). They were both good, but I wish the carne asada was cut up more in the fries!

Came here during happy hour for their $ 1 tequila popper shots!(which are half tequila and half grapefruit soda, hence the pink color) pretty good for $ 1. They also have happy hour food for $ 8 like guacamole and chips, cheese fries, adobo wings, and a few others. We got the adobo wings which were pretty good. They were flavorful and the meat was juicy. I recommend this place if you’re just bar hopping around downtown and looking for a place to get some margaritas, tequila popper shots for $ 1, or food. There’s happy hour deals to take advantage of that won’t hurt the wallet! The place can get crowded once happy hour starts so I suggest getting here early for a table or a spot! I will be back for happy hour again! **Tip: Happy hour starts at 10pm!
