Service, theme, and food. Service was OK. Waitress could of came to table more often. The Irish feel is there, based on the movies I’ve seen. I guess I can’t complain about the food cause it looked like it was done well. I figured why Irish food isn’t popular, this being a second spot. I don’t like it. Would I come back? Maybe for drinking only.

Unilocal reviews by David Lujan Who: A hand full of business men and myself, maybe overall a group of 12 or more ranging from 30 yrs old to 60 yrs old. What: Celebrating after our national awards event held at Petco park. Drinks of choice — Scotch and Guinness. When: Evening time around 9:30pm Environment: Not loud, dim lighting, lots of nice wood work. Very traditional Irish pub setting. How’d they do: Overall good service. No complaints. Recommendations: Looking for a quieter bar with an old country feel with a VERY large alcohol selection your going to dig this spot. Pros: This is a cool spot, it has that vibe like your in a real Irish pub, the restrooms are very nice, and it is quiet enough and had the room to have a normal sit down and share of the drink while being able to hold a conversation. Cons: It is a quiet joint. If your looking to turn it up you may want to head closer to downtown GasLamp. My tip: I had a double of Glen Levit 18 for $ 55 and a single of Mc Laulen 18 aged oak $ 68. If your a scotch man they have a large selection!

I live a block away and do have to say this the food is top noche. I’ve had pretty much everything. I live the cheesesteak and fish and chips. Both top level. The rib eye is amazing too. They are very consistent in the kitchen and in the dining room.

I came here literally on christmas day. I loved the enviroment, there were many people early morning. People drinking a spiced coffee, or just beer. The mimosa with some breakfast(huevos rancheros) was so good. This location is pretty spacious, the hostesses were so nice, always with a smile on their faces. I would for sure come back at night time.

Short and sweet. Dublin Square is the kind of place you go to for the music but certainly not the food or service. I was ready to jump across the bar(on a moderately busy Saturday) to get some service as chit-chat with regulars(I assume) seems to take priority. You’re also not going to find the cheapest drink in the Gaslamp here, but to be fair it definitely isn’t the most expensive either. The music is the saving grace and I’ve always been fortunate to catch decent talent, which leads me to believe that they’re spending some dough to make sure the customer is entertained rather than served. Hell, I’ll take it.

Food is pretty good, but the servers seem rushed — even when there aren’t a lot of customers. I still recommend experiencing breakfast here.

Went here for a groupon deal to check out the fish and chips. Not the best service for one, then although the platter looked good, it had no flavor at all. Plus the portion of fish was small –little strips with a ton of fries. I think the price was 17.99 for the plate! Way too much! And of course 7.50 Guiness pints! Won’t be back any time soon. It was a very nice place inside though…

This place is horrible the bouncer acknowledge that we had been drinking, we were 6 total n we were very trouble free and they still let us in unfortunately one of us didn’t feel too good and couldn’t reach the restroom, but the most unprofessional part was they kicked is out so disrespectful even tho we offered to clean it up an apologize, this place sucks.

Very quaint Irish style pub. Great happy hour drink specials. Lots to choose from to drink and to enjoy. Staff was very friendly. I would go back again.

Americano Irish Pub tourist trap. Great look on the outside until you step in to a remodeled Applebee’s with some minimal online ordered Irish décor. If a young all blonde girl staff and the blasting of Flogging Molly’s every other song doesn’t send you running, order a whiskey and you’ll be out within 2 minutes. Get seated in at a cramped table in the back. Uncomfortable for dining and especially for their over sized plates. Order a Bushmills on the rocks. It comes out and it’s the saddest pour I’ve EVER received for any drink. Had to be a half of a shot or less with about 15 ice cubes jammed in the glass filled to the brim and stuck with an air gap over the cap sized pour for $ 7.75. If they pour each drink like this, they’ll make $ 500.00+ off a $ 15 bottle of whiskey. I would honestly have to order 6 of these to make 1 average sized single whiskey on the rocks. Order the bangers & mash with a water and my company orders reubens and beers. Server asks if they wanted waters too, and they said no. Out comes my half glass of water with 2 ice cubes and another half glass of water she just placed in the middle of them. The bangers & mash were ok, but pretty boring. Cut on a long diagonal and with the presentation you’re getting more than you are. Huge thick slice of tomato on the side twisted up to fill up space on the plate. Potatoes were good. Mouth full portion of baked beans were ok. Watched my company struggle with the reubens as the sandwiches fell apart everywhere and the sogginess of the sandwich just made it a gross and awkward experience. Our genius server took away a half of a beer without asking leaving him with nothing to drink while he’s trying to finish his meal. Immediately after I watch her and her 3 coworkers jump up and down in the back whipping their hair around to the music like they were in a Smell Like Teen Spirit video. I grew up in Boston pubs and went in with low expectations and was going to settle for what I already knew what this place is about. But even on the cheesiest tourist trap spot level or knock off Irish Pub American gimmick level, this place blows.

We really enjoyed Mollys Trio. We split it and had leftovers. We were in Ireland last May. I preferred this s Shepherd’s Pie more so than in Ireland. My BIG complaint was that those smoking outside were too close to the open window. We were half way back but still got blasted… We left before we were ready because of it.

I grabbed a few drinks here a couple of weeks back for one of my buddy’s birthdays. This was my first time checking this place out and it was great. It was a weeknight so the place wasn’t too packed but still had a great atmosphere. Now I’ve never been to Dublin but this is exactly what I would picture it to be like minus all the rowdy Irishmen. Great food. Great drinks. Great service. Irish car bombs made the experience even better. I would highly recommend checking this place out. PS. If you check in they give you a discount.

Downtown San Diego is not all about clubbing, raging and dining. Who would’ve known how awesome Dublin Irish pub is! I cannot believe I didn’t know about this place sooner! Iv’e never been to Ireland, but jeez! This place definitely has the Ireland atmosphere! They usua;lly have live bands during the evening which is so cool! Everytime I come here, Lindsey & Lindsay(two different bartenders:)) always provide the best service. Check them out when you decide to come in for drinks! They’ll take care of you! Highly recommended and will definitely be making my way back here for the best Irish pub ever in San Diego downtown!

Hubby and I were going on a staycation overnighter downtown. We checked in at the hotel and the headed over to Dublin Square. We had purchased a Groupon for 29.00 for 50.00 of food. The waitresses were totally cute if you’re in to short plaid skirts. I’m not but still… they looked adorable. Anyway the place was pretty empty as it was 4 pm on a Sunday. Nice! Hubby ordered th 11.00 flight of beer. I should have. My rum and diet was pretty small, kinda expensive and not totally wonderful. He liked his beers except for the Arrogant Bastard. Neither one of us were crazy about it. I ordered the Shamrock trio(Irish stew, braised beef, shepherd pie and soda bread. Wow! All totally tasty and in good portions. Hubby ordered corned beef sandwich with fries. That sandwich was HUGE. He has a big appetite and only ate half. We were glad we came!

Husband is from England and his favorite food is a classical English breakfast. He says«this is comparable to any top class breakfast in the British Isles. The eggs, over easy, had a yoke of a deep yellow reminding one of Suffolk country eggs. The bangers were moist, heavy on the herbs and browned to perfection. They were so good we actually asked the chef where they got them from and they get them from Ireland the shamrock company. The soda bread was soft crumbly and creamirly authentic.» Danielle was friendly, prompt, and helpful with my many requests. I would not recommend the corned beef and hash or the hash browns but boy oh boy I’d love to try the Irish Lamb stew and will definitely be back.

Came here for lunch today. I finally was lucky to find parking in Downtown on a Sunday afternoon. I still don’t like the parking situation here. Hubby had a buy one get one free coupon from the Entertainment book. Saves us lots of money. As we enter, we were greeted by a hostess. She was nice to seat us even though it says seat yourself. We got seated at height level tables towards the back. They also had higher level tables. Our server was named Danielle. She was super nice and made sure we were taken care of. I ordered an ice tea. Iced tea was stronger than I normally drink. I ordered their fish and chips. It was piping hot when my food came out. The fish was tender and crunchy on the outside. The fries were the thick steak fries. Cooked to perfection. I was given tartar sauce and lemons. Fish and chips were good! Service by Danielle was excellent! The only thing she neglected to do was refill my hubby’s Coke. Other than that, she took care of my daughter’s needs and ours. I highly recommend coming here for lunch and dinner!

This place is a scam. I came here for St. Patty’s night and I came in around 10, when they had already stopped charging people an entrance fee. I didn’t realize it than but the 10 ppl ahead of me didnt pay the fee(only because I assumed that they were coming back into the bar for some reason). I gave the girl $ 20.00 for my entrance fee hoping to get change, but she just took my money and that was that. After ordering my drink I went back to the front cause at this point I noticed that ppl were again not being charged $ 20 like I was. I was seething as I realized the entrance fee ended like an hour ago, I ended up telling one of the girls what happened, and she went to the back to get my money. but she only came back with $ 10.00. She said she was sorry but the price WAS $ 20.00 to get in and that she was being generous in giving me at least $ 10.00 back. I didnt know what to think because A. She should have refunded me all my money and B. who the hell charges $ 20 for a fee on St. Patty’s day?. I left pretty pissed off over this because the girls here were pretty dishonest.

I always want to be really impressed here because I love the setting and it is right by the studio where I do a lot of work. Today we tried the Scotch eggs. Not bad, just not completely compelling either. We had the wings too– again, underwhelming with a not awesome bleu cheese dressing and not enough of it on the side. We also had the Reuben and it was good. I just think it all is a bit overpriced and underwhelming. But I really wish it were better because I would love to be a regular just for the setting. And I wish they had haggis. I would go just for that!
