Great prices, pretty good food, really friendly cashier/server. First time eating here, so many options to choose from, I ordered the veggie teriyaki with macaroni salad. I will definitely come back. Curious to try more items on the menu.

Great place for late night snack! Good variety of foods ranging from different affordable prices. Service is also great, very friendly, very attentive. Parking however is a pain. Make sure to try the spicy chicken teriyaki and the spam musubi! The interior looks very clean and cozy. Overall a great place to grab late night with friends and family.

Awesome prices and great variety of dishes. Had my first sake bomb, while waiting on to-go order. For $ 3 dollars each my roommate & I shared a bottle of Japanese beer and sake. She had tried sake & sake bombs before. She said, some other places charger, sometimes twice as much for exact same set up & brand. We will definitely be going back.

Came here second time in a row tonight! The service is amazing, the girls behind the counter are so friendly and helpful! Great recommendations both times. Had the spicy chicken teriyaki plate with sticky rice and green salad(to die for dressing) and appetizer crispy gyoza the first night, chicken katsu plate with same sides and appetizer steamed gyoza second night. Both nights the food was addictive, I could not stop eating till my container was licked clean! While we waited for our food to go we had the sake bomber special for $ 5.25! What a deal! We’ve found our new go to place for sure!

I have no idea why this place gets a bad name. Junz is exactly what I was expecting to find when I am looking for a one size fits all Hawaiian joint. I’ve read a lot of reviews that Junz is trying to do everything. The truth is, Hawaii is a lot like that. Hawaii, especially Oahu, is a melting pot of cultures around the Pacific. However, no one is really expecting their dishes to be authentic, unless they specialize in it. Instead, takes the dish and spins it in their own local flavor. I’m not calling myself a Hawaii expert, but I lived there for 5 years and have a basic idea of what I ate. I ate at many joints that not only had plate lunches, but had their fair share of burgers, udon, sushi etc. Hello Zippy’s diner! If you know that and expect that, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with what you’ll find here at Junz. He took what he knew and spinned it his way, not L&L’s way, not Ohana’s way. I’ll be hitting up Junz a lot in the future.

Great service, the girls at the front always have a smile on. The food is great too and it’s always satisfying, the teriyaki chicken is my favorite. As an added bonus, they have the best Saki deal around!

Grabbed a quick bite before my best friend and I had plans at Queen Bee’s for a concert. My best friend pointed out this establishment, and I needed to get something in my tummy – after coming straight from work. I ordered a Crab Tempura-battered roll, 8 pieces for only $ 3.95! It was absolutely delish. Even on the go, I received the customary(and in reality required) pickled ginger and wasabi. The flavors were full and rich. The tempura batter encapsulated the sushi, the crab and its contents, perfectly. They also did me a gracious courtesy of allowing me to pay with my credit card although it wasn’t the $ 10 minimum. They assisted me as best as they could and made me, the customer, very happy. *thumbs up* I plan on returning. I plan on eating. I plan on chilling.

Junz is the best! Food-5 Service-5 Value-5 Atmosphere-4 Junz is THE spot in north park for a quick and cheap(by San Diego standards) meal. they have a big menu of Japanese/Island style food, portions are big. I have been here so many times I have lost count(50?60?) always consistent and good. They are open late as well. This is NOT a fancy restaurant so it may get negative reviews from all these North Park people expecting locally sourced organic refined beet juice smoothies or what have you, don’t let the haters fool you.

If you like good food at good prices, in a relaxed environment with cool window seats you can look no further than Junz. I have frequented this spot for the past year and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly(even when it gets late) and the food has always been great. Show up on a thursday night and you will probably find me there sitting in the window.

Never really felt the urge to go into this place and I only went a couple nights ago because my hubby insisted he was craving their loco moco. I had a hunch this place had Hawaiian food even before I went inside or even looked it up. I ordered two loco mocos for both of us and it was really good. The sauce on top was really sweet so because of this, I’m not sure if it was really gravy. Could’ve been a sweetened version or teriyaki sauce… not really sure. Overall though, the dish was good. Good portion too. The menu in this place is kinda mixed up, like it doesn’t know what it wants to be yet. It’s like a young adult in his 20s still trying to find out his place in life — so confused and everywhere. That’s what this place is. I haven’t tried any of their other foods so I’m not sure if they’re all good or not. I’m just stating that they have a bunch of random foods. They got a lil Hawaiian but they also got asian foods… and etc. No main theme. Overall, if my hubby has random loco moco cravings again, I wouldn’t be opposed to coming back but this wouldn’t be my first choice — even if it’s just down the street from me.

The place has a couple of things going for it. The eats are cheap and they serve beer. The food ranges from nothing special to greasy mystery meat. I suspect that the chicken comes from chicken backs, yucK. The only reason I can see for going here is the price, but only if you can stomach the food.

Came here for some late night munchies after being out in North Park… The food looks good, however I feel the pictures look better than the food tastes. **Food: got the chicken katsu w macaroni salad. The chicken katsu was ok, however the macaroni was really bland. :/ This place is nice due to being open late, however I’d probably try something else next time.

I had the teriyaki bowl and I regret buying it. I wanted to return the plate when I saw it but I ate it. Good Portions Good Price Good Interior Seating/TV Bad Food Quality Bad Manners Bad Menu Theme(all over the place) First and Last time eating there. When you don’t put love in your food recipes or cooks don’t have love for cooking. Whats the point ¯\_(ツ)_/¯?

Closest thing to culinary perfection I’ve found in SD. The teriyaki chicken is always delicious and the rice is always stickier than a teenagers socks. I’ve thoroughly explored the wide menu and have had zero complaints. This is actually where my partners and I meet up for our weekly BDP meetings and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The staff always remembers us and greet us with a smile, but I have yet to meet Jun himself/herself(?). There are excellent views on the window seats that provide all night entertainment as well. Did I mention the beer and sake special? Can’t be beat!

Don’t get the sushi! They cover it with mayonnaise and there is no warning on the menu whatsoever. I have to say that the service is fast and friendly and that the prices are really low for how much food you get. I might be back to give this place another try.

This was a really good place to grab a bite to eat. It is located on the strip and has seating that looks out to the street. The menu has a lot of everything and even so good specials. The Teriyaki special was good and the rice nice and sticky. Pretty cheap. This is a great spot for a late night bite to eat in between going to bars.

WHOA! I’m seeing a lot of Unilocal hating on this restaurant. This place doesn’t deserve the heat ya’ll are giving it. First and foremost, I’m from Hawaii and let me break it down for you, this food is pretty much on point for what to expect with Hawaiian food. In fact, it’s a damn bargain. Obviously if you’ve got different expectations then Junz isn’t the right place for you. But the L&L’s out here are untouchable, I refuse to eat them, even at my most desperate and homesick for hawaiian food times. The service is good and the prices are unbelievable for the portions. Try them again

Junz is your local Japanese/Hawaiian bbq joint. The Interior is outdated to say the least, but its pretty clean. Service is nice, and a bit old school asian-american, where its quick to the point, but respectful. The food is average, though they do a good job with presentation. The atmosphere is a little off as well, but peaceful. I feel Junz needs to work a bit more on quality and making themselves special rather than the norm. They have the tools and potential because even how it now, its still a solid place. Hopefully they take that step forward. But until then, I’ll be strolling in after the bars close if I need to grab something to eat.

Cheap, quick, and nice servers! This joint sells just about anything from american, to Korean, to Japanese, to Chinese, to Thai food. They probably have over a hundred different dishes not counting drinks or desserts. Their lack of specialty is probably their biggest reason for their lack of quality. Food was sub par compared to basically anywhere else including panda express. I got the BBQ chicken dish which was basically chicken with teriyaki sauce(extremely watered down sauce). The chicken tasted like it was 5 days old. Had that ‘old chicken’ funk. I didn’t get sick though so at least it didn’t have mold or anything like that hiding in there. Bottom line, if you are drunk after a long night of bar hopping, I’m sure the food will taste amazing. However, if you are sober and looking for a place to eat that won’t leave a bad taste in your mouth, I would look for someplace else. However, you can’t beat that price! That chicken katsu looked good. Maybe if I stop by next time again I’ll try that.
