I have never been to Jersey Mikes Subs before but had heard good things from others. It’s not far from home and the items on the menu seemed very appetizing. Unfortunately the sandwiches aren’t the best :(I got a buffalo chicken wrap I was excited to try it, but when I got it, It was so tiny. barely any chicken. just basically A TON of bleu cheese in a tortilla with a hint of buffalo sauce. The turkey sub isn’t bad again a regular size is pretty small. The Mikes Way blend that tops most of the sandwiches is good but very over powering, just not overall WOWED but I’m hoping another visit far in the future will be much better. May try again.

I’ve tried Jersey Mikes(Hillcrest location) twice now, and was not impressed either time. There wasn’t anything particularly wrong or bad about the food, but nothing impressive either. Tasted like mediocre deli meat(comparable to what you get in the grocery store), and I wasn’t impressed with the toppings(shredded lettuce & tomatoes) or the oil & vinegar dressing. It definitely wasn’t the worst food I’ve ever had, but certainly nothing memorable. I always hate to see restaurants(or other businesses) fail, but deep down inside I’m secretly hoping that this place gets replaced with something much better!

Tucked into the small strip mall by my gym, this location of JM went unnoticed until recently. The staff was friendly and didn’t skimp on my salad, and they do validate if you park in the parking structure which is nice.

I just stumbled in here today after work and OMG they are SO much better than Subway! No offense to Subway, they’re good. But Jersey Mike’s is great! They have everything a sandwich shop has to offer — all of the conventional meats, along with italian cold cuts! i.e. cappacuolo, prosciuttini, etc The extra selection matters so much to me, because the meats are delicious. They have simple and very meaty sandwiches, which are more expensive, lol. They also have this red relish which is spicy and awesome. If you get your wich Mike’s way, it comes with lots of lettuce, tomato, and onion along with italian spices, oil, and vinegar. I added peperocinis… muah! If you like a good sub, go to Jersey Mikes!

Ate my tenth Jersey Mike’s today. This location has not let me down yet, and honestly I don’t see it happening. This Jersey Mike’s is my first experience with Jersey Mike’s, which sounds weird because I am a mid-Atlantic guy. Jersey Mike’s honestly makes me feel like home. Where I’m from we don’t have heroes or subs — we have hoagies. And hoagies are big, bulging sandwiches bursting with flavor. We’re talking a shredded lettuce explosion atop piles of freshly cut meat on buns that meet the criteria otherwise known as Kardashian thickness. It’s this practice that is often mistaken for a sloppy presentation. Make no mistake, this is no hot mess. A Jersey Mike’s ensures when sloppy meets classy, TASTE prevails. Let’s be honest — no one remembers how messy a sandwich is. They do, however, remember when it tastes amazing. With Jersey Mike’s, they ask you if you would like your freshly made sub topped«Mike’s Way.» That’s with onions, lettuce, tomato, vinegar, oil, and spices. They call this Mike’s Way, but this is pretty much default sub preparation in the mid-Atlantic. Although I do have to say, Jersey Mike’s has arrived at a magical balance of oil, vinegar, and spices. It is addicting like pizza Combos, and I have not seen a drop in consistency yet. Nice work, Jersey Mike’s. You are definitely representing Jersey better than many of your other unofficial ambassadors. You’re definitely the Springsteen of subs.

Awesome experienced staff and delish fresh food. Not to mention, but I will, free parking validation on 5th in hillcrest with a sandwich purchase! Leah(assistant manager?) always seems to be there with a great smile, customer service, and team work with the staff. The manager, too! and he just got his first motorcycle… gorgeous! So, all the way around, good fresh food in a great people-watching area of SD. AND, a consistent smile each and every visit! Sweet! Dude! Go all the way… Mike’s way! Yum! ;)

My coworker put it best when she said Jersey Mike’s is Subway on steroids! The giant sandwiches are HUGEEE! probably the length of my arm and as thick as my calves. Everyone at my work seemed to have enjoyed their subs… but I can’t say it was phenomenal or anything… but you definitely do get a big fat bang for your buck!

A friend and I had decided to eat at this spot only by default that Smashburger had closed its doors in Hillcrest. The staff at Jersey Mike’s Subs are very friendly, professional, greeted us immediately upon entry, were ready to place an order and serve. The interior was very clean and seemingly pest free. I didn’t eat a sub, but I did enjoy a fresh chicken wrap. My friend seemingly had NO complaints after devouring his sub down within minutes. Since I live in the area I will certainly give this business a try even more so considering I have always went to Subway Sandwich. Even though my mind was set on one thing, I am glad Smashburger was no longer an option. If you’re in the area, I would certainly recommend this venue for a change of taste.

Subs this good are not legal in some states. The Hillcrest location is great, fun, friendly folks. Delivery available with bigger orders. They keep up the Hillcrest tradition of great eats. Can’t go wrong with getting it Mikes way, if they ask.

I hoestly love this place more then any other sub place I have been to. The Staff is awesome and friendly and the Italian sub is always amazing. What I love about this chain is that they cut the meat right in front of you. It doesnt come out of a pre sealed package. worth the trip ever time.

This place is very good but the young people need more supervision. Many times loud music is playing with profanity after the owner leaves. I feel compelled to go there because the owner runs the business excellent and loves to please customers. I don’t like a lot of personality and there was one young man that talked a lot and bordered being asked to the streets. The best time to go here is between 11am to 3pm. The owners will probably be there then and things will run smoothly.

Stopped by about 2 weeks to grab dinner since I saw they barely opened and I was eager to try it since I had heard good things about the other locations and I am happy that I did. The owner was there and he was super nice which was another plus, but the quality of the meat and the freshness of the veggies is what makes this place amazing. All the meats are sliced in front of you and you have a tons of variety to choose from, so without a doubt I will be back to try there other sandwhiches.

Jersey Mike’s makes some of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! Excited that this chain came to Hillcrest recently. The bread is fresh, they slice the meat just for your sandwich, and they’re liberal with the veggies. They totally put Subway to shame! My only complaint is that the mini is too small ad the regular is too big, so I’ve only been going on the weekends after my long runs so I dont feel guilty wolfing down a regular. Everyone at this location is super friendly and you get free validated parking in the lot!

I love Jersey Mike’s, it’s a bit obvious if you tally up the number of locations I’ve reviewed. The sandwiches here, just like the other locations are awesome. I’m taking a star away from them because the lemons for the iced tea were sliced by a knife that had been used on onions. Onion flavored drinks are beyond nasty.

Jersey Mike’s has fresh subs, friendly service, and reasonable prices. What impressed me the most was that I had a free 6″ regular sub coupon with a minimum $ 1 donation to women’s health at UCSD, not only did I have this coupon but probably everyone during the lunch rush did too. The place was packed and the line was out the door, but, I was in and out no more than 5 minutes! Jersey Mike’s is a business that cares about people. I appreciate business’s with that type of generosity and attitude.
