Ok — So my fiancée and I are avid Jersey Mike’s fans. Always have been. When we moved into the college area we were super excited to find out a Jersey Mike’s was right down the road from our place. We go to Jersey Mike’s once or twice a week so this was a huge score for us. We had been loyally going to this store and it was good, just like most stores, but then one day we went to go use my recent stocking stuffer Christmas card with my cousin and my fiancée and we had a terrible experience. The staff making our food had forgotten the oil and vinegar(we ordered all the subs Mike’s Way), and had forgotten bacon on my #8(Not the BACON!), so we gave them a call as we didn’t really feel like leaving the house again and going back for a few toppings. A girl answered and when we told her what happened there was just silence. She didn’t make a suggestion to come in and have them fix it and maybe throw in a cookie or drink — nothing. So after a long pause I said, «So, should we come in or???» and she promptly responded with, «I guess you can if you want… just tell me if you’re going to so I know you’re coming in for toppings», all the while saying it in a tone much less than professional. I was appalled and said, «Ok, thanks», and hung up. I never leave reviews but I sent a comment card to the restaurant and got an e-mail back from Nate Arendell, the store owner. He told me to come in at my earliest convenience to get us some subs done the right way. We normally won’t go back to a place that ruins our food no matter what the manager does to make it up, but this was an exception. Nate was easily the best manager of a food place(whether it be a fancy restaurant in Del Mar, or the taco shop across the street) EVER. He gave us 3 subs to make it up and made them beautifully. Easily the best Mike’s we’ve had. He also threw in cookies and drinks too! Boo-yah! He was extremely friendly and professional and engaged in conversation the whole way through making our food. He easily brought us back as loyal customers to his store again and I can definitely say that is a FIRST for me. We can’t wait to come back and hopefully see Nate again. Nate — thank you for the awesome experience, and please take up my offer and offer«Nate’s Way» for subs. The only way I can describe the subs you made is by saying they were like putting a sandwich in my mouth that was kissed by an angel and hand crafted by the gods of Rome. Yes — that good. Make this man your regional manager. He knows how to get it done. –Christian Garcia

The manager Jessica had contacted me and made me feel Very happy although it’s been a few weeks and still waiting for my «free sub» coupons in the mail like she said I had Ste there about a week ago and I actually got a tummy ache from the food my friend and I both ended up having some sort of food poisoning where insider settle right. So idk… Still waiting and idk if I’ll go to this location im nervous now…

The worst Jersey Mikes branch ever. «El Cajon Blvd San Deigo CA» I’m a 3 times per week customer, there is no good communication between the one that takes the orders and the people that are preparing it. Most of the time there is something either missing or extra in the order. («Most of the time its ONESAMEGUY that misses up the food«) Today I had to drive back to the store 2 times to fix my order and I ended up returning the food and ran out of my lunch brake time. He end up giving me a free side card or salad card without even hesitating to ask me if I need a new RIGHT sandwich, it was like take the free salad card and shut up and leave, I refused the card and return the food and I took my full refund. Mike’s number 13 sandwich made Mike’s way is the best submarine sandwich. The facility is always clean and the service is excellent and very fast.

As you know from past reviews, I’ve always loved Jersey Mike’s. I used to frequent the point Loma location, so after moving I was happy to find that there was this location close to my new place. The sandwiches are delicious, as always, but this location has excellent customer service, as well. Every employee I’ve encountered has been friendly, cheerful, and proficient. Glad Jersey Mike’s continues to impress!

Wow, why haven’t I ever been here before!?? That is the question. As Philly Cheesesteak and Sandwich Lovers we are proud to say that this is probably the best philly cheese u have definitely ever had! It was so good, the one with chipoltle. Amazing. And everything is cut fresh before they put it on the grill or in your bread. I can’t wait to go back again, it’s a lil pricey but not bad it’s totally worth it! I am so happy this place is close to home, I have a new spot! I would really like to thank NATHAN for being so kind and helpful during my first experience there, I could see all the employees working hard as a team working together and all so friendly providing such great service. I highly recommend this place to everyone! I will see you guys again VERY soon :)

First time at this location. Staff was pleasant and professional. Sandwich(Philly) was good. It wasn’t anything special but it wasn’t not good. The ‘regular’ size is actually quite small. The ‘large’ is actually probably a foot long full size sandwich.

I’ve never gotten a bad sandwich from Jersey Mike’s, and the chipotle Philly cheesesteak didn’t disappoint. The only thing is I wish it had maybe an ounce or two of more meat. The establishment is always clean. The attendants always greet you, and it doesn’t hurt that you get a free fresh baked cookie when you check-in on Unilocal!I’ll definitely be back for another. Jersey Mike’s hold a spot near and dear to me since I’m from Newark, NJ. «Mike’s Way» reminds me of the way I used to eat subs growing up in NJ.

A pretty good sandwich. I had the #18 or #19 and it was pretty good. Bread was a little tough but not to much. Plenty of items on the sandwich but nothing that was overwhelming. I had all the trimmings with it and it was a pretty good size sandwich and I got the regular. This location was friendly and pretty fast. It is a busy location near SDSU.

I really like Jersey Mike’s, but this is my lease favorite location. It’s just a little less kept up than others I’ve been to.

It’s fast food. It’s regrettable to think about their ‘Jersey Mike’s Since 1956′ logo where the food was likely more than frozen, breaded chicken patties for chicken parm, or gummy meatballs. Not worth the price or the trip especially in a city where we do have some great sandwich shops and delis which serve real food like DZ Akins or BFD. Really no departure here from ordering something at any other fast food chain like McDonald’s or Burger King.

Good subs. Tables are always dirty. Very few seats. Charter school kids congregate here. I love me some Jersey Mikes. Mikes way #13 is delicious.

My experience today. 1. My lady asked for a spinach wrap instead of the normal tortilla and did not get it. 2. They forgot the mayo when they were making it Mikes way. So I tasted the vinegar hardcore. I had to get packettes. 3. The process today was slow. I have never seen some of these guys here before. I’m assuming the are new. They surely messed my sub up. 4. Abnoxious loud voices and yelling back and forth. Overall, not a pleasant experience. I’m usually generous with my ratings. I am not impressed but I won’t based it there. This is a great company.

Consistently satisfying There’s any number of ways to screw up a sandwich. Soggy bread, too much of one ingredient or not enough of another. This place doesn’t screw it up. I visit about twice a month; usually when I don’t want to cook so I get a sandwich to go and take it home. The regular size is a great portion. Prices are higher than another chain sub shop(the one that sounds like an underground train), but the sandwiches are actually wider in diameter. They could use a little more meat, but that’s only because the lettuce is HEAPED on. Cold sandwiches are the norm; I tried a couple of the grilled selections and didn’t find anything worth repeating. I tend to get the classic Italian, which includes three kinds of ham with provolone. There’s turkey, tuna, and other sandwich staples as well. Avoid those with bacon; it seems they make loads of it in the morning, a little overcooked to my taste, and it’s not particularly hot or chewy by the time I order a sandwich. The sandwiches are offered«Mike’s Way,» which is a mistake. They will customize(like that other mass transit — themed place) but the possible condiments are not lengthy. «Mike’s Way» is onion, shredded lettuce, tomato, oil/vinegar, salt/pepper, and some dried herb mixture; the top slice gets a schmear of mayo. There’s pickle, a spicy relish, and a few other condiments, but even if you try just«Mike’s Way» it pays to change the order: onion on top of the meat, then lettuce, then«easy oil and vinegar» before the tomato and the rest. That way the oil/vinegar is inside the lettuce, not draining off the tomato and into the bread. Staff is always friendly, and a couple have even agreed that my order of ingredients is superior to «Mike’s.» Plus: great potion for the price; friendly staff; excellent food. Minus: limited condiment selection, a little stingy on the meat

I don’t have a lot to say other than mikes way or GTFO. One of my favorite places to eat, period. Jersey mikes is so good, I would eat here multiple times a week if I could. Number 13 mikes way with chili relish and jalapenos, that’s all.

The sandwiches here are better than any chain store. The 56 — big kahuna is ridiculously tasty and I love you can turn any sub into a salad. Only reason it’s four stars and not five? The salad consist of iceberg, tomato, and onion. If they offered spinach, spring mix, or some sort of tasty greenery with a few different veggies — cucumbers, carrots, etc — it would get a five star. Prices are good and service is friendly and fast.

This location is in the gray strip mall on El Cajon and College, almost across from Woodstock Pizza. It’s a decent filling sandwich, with three sizes to choose from, though the ingredient selection is somewhat limited. I opted for the Italian sandwich(pepperoni, salami), and went with the tomatoes, pickles, vinegar and oil… hard pass on iceberg lettuce(since iceberg doesn’t have any nutritional value). The texture of the bread was firm, and the ingredients fresh… but a far cry from the competitor’s ingredient selection. Paying for your selection electronically includes the option of adding one of three tip options… not too bad if you don’t have any cash on hand and want to tip your sandwichologist. ;) The crew were all methodical and professional in their prep, and very friendly when dealing with customers… always nice to see.
