Just got done with my appointment, everything went great. The staff and Dr. Are amazing. Highly recommended, they were very friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best dental experiences I have had, will be going back for any and all my dental needs.

I thought I had asked every cost-​related question I could have back when I made today’s appointment 3 months ago, but apparently I didn’t. Back in July, I had called Dr. Bunker’s office and asked how much their cleaning and exam costs. The rep said $ 90 for the cleaning and $ 40 for the exam, but then also made a point of qualifying her answer repeatedly, saying «but you could need more work, such as an antibiotic flush.» I kept repeating «but if I don’t need any more work, the appointment will cost around $ 130, you’re saying, right?» She agreed.
Today I showed up for my cleaning and exam appointment, at which time the rep said «And you’re here for. .. ?» to which I replied «my cleaning and exam.» She overlapped my words, saying «consultation.» We finally came to a meeting of the minds, with my finally realizing she was saying that their office requires a «consultation» as a **separate appointment** *before* any cleaning-​plus-​exam appointment. She said that the consultation is a separate $ 49 cost. The rep back in July, when I was making the cleaning-​exam appointment, had never referred to any separate appointment for a consultation or an associated separate $ 49 cost, or of course the need to schedule that «pre-​appointment-​appointment» in advance of the date I needed my quarterly cleaning. The $ 49 cost is reasonable, but I don’t like the surprise of the required separate appointment date, plus that I’d end up having to delay the cleaning-​exam I was expecting to have *today.* I ended up walking out. I’ve learned all too well that surprises/​miscommunications are typically a sign of future similar experiences with that person/​office.

Finding a great dentist, for me, is even more important than finding THE right hairstylist that you can trust! I have had extensive work done here. Dr. Bunker & his staff are very gentle. My recovery has always gone smoothly, too. My 14-​year-​old son and I have been cleaned and worked on by all the wonderful staff; Bianca, Ven, Sara, Lylan and Monica. We have been very satisfied with their work. Ms. Andi always lets me know what my costs are so I am not surprised about my bill. Hygiene and healthy teeth are a part of our overall wellness. We always feel healthier when we leave after a good cleaning :)

I was looking for a good dentist close to home and one that is reasonable. I live in Scripps Ranch and most of the dentists here are over priced;(I was nervous going to a new dentist but his friendly down to earth staff made me less hesitant. I had the Zoom procedure done here for half the price of most dentists… and was thrilled with the results! Dr. Bunker did restorative dental work at an excellent cash price and repaired two fillings at no charge! I must add that another dentist with my old insurance plan had recently missed the two cavities after x-​Rays and exam so I was very happy that Dr. Bunker was thorough in his care. He was gentle, kind and experienced. I am very happy with his work and look forward to coming here in the future;) The only downside is that Starbucks is in the same Mall and you probably don’t want to go there before or after a cleaning! This location is very easy to find right off the 15 freeway.

Jared Bunker has apparently taken over the practice at Carmel Mountain Dentistry from Dr. Luban (whom I never met). Dr Bunker recommended $ 1100 worth of dental work beyond my insurance coverage at my first visit. I went back to my previous dentist, whom I saw last year for a complete exam, to get a second opinion. He said NONE of the work was needed. My previous dentist, who has been practicing for over 30 years, said that one of the procedures «couldn’t possibly work» and the rest were cosmetic. Dr. Bunker then refused me as a patient for a basic cleaning saying he «couldn’t be liable» for my gum disease.
My previous dentist said the «gum disease» excuse was BS and that, like many 55 year olds, I have some receding gum lines, but nothing that would prevent a basic cleaning (he offered to do it himself for a reduced rate as he no longer takes my current dental insurance). He then summed it by saying «if all those items needed treatment don’t you think I would have done it?».
Jared Bunker seems like a new and young dentist (confirmed by the posts below) that needs lots of unnecessary procedures to pay for the practice it appears he just bought. And apparently he won’t make enough money from a basic cleaning to pay for all that staff and fancy equipment.

Dr. Bunker is wonderful. Like most people, I’m not a big fan of going to the dentist but I look forward to seeing Dr Bunker. He and his staff make me feel very relaxed. So far I have had a root canal and two crowns — the work was great. I didn’t feel any pain.
Andi, the office manger, lets me know the cost of the work before they start. She breaks up the work into manageable payments. That is very important to me. I don’t want a huge balance. And they work with my insurance company. Dental assistants Lylan and Bianca are great also. Overall it is a very friendly place.
If you have been putting off going to the dentist — go see Dr Bunker you will be glad you did.

I’ve been going to Dr. Bunker for over a year now and am really happy with him as a dentist and with their office in general.
Dr. Bunker is the guy that is talking with you and time stands still. He’s engaged, he cares, he listens, and he seems to love being a dentist. Nice to see a guy whose been at this for over a couple of years and is still in the honeymoon phase.
They just finished renovations and the office looks great. TV’s on the wall like you’d expect, decorations, seasonal themes etc. etc.
Professionally, I’m a really minimalistic patient. I have impeccable oral hygiene and the only thing beyond cleanings and x-​ray checks I’ve gotten from Dr. Bunker was a small filling due to some softening/​early decay. It’s been a year now and the filling is smooth and insensitive. A job well done.
The office staff is very warm and friendly (even though I spaced my previous appointment and had to reschedule… oops). Linda the hygienist was fantastic. I’m used to getting my teeth cleaned like I get my hair cut… with few embellishments or explanations. She took the time to explain things that I didn’t already know (like how the gum attachment check works) and even included those small steps that make you feel comfortable like letting you freshen up with diluted mouthwash before settling in and calling me by my first name.
She passed my final test when, after complimenting me on my clean teeth, I told her that long ago I had decided not to floss all of my teeth… only the ones I wanted to keep.” She laughed and said, «It makes a bigger difference than you’d think.» I’m braced and ready for the horror story that reveals a hygienist’s true feelings about patients, but Linda continued, «We had a young adult lady come in that hadn’t been cleaned in two years and I was worried we’d have to schedule two separate appointments to finish the cleaning. It worked out okay though, because she brushed and flossed regularly and was in pretty good shape.»
Wow. No «holier than though», no scare tactics, just good straight up concern for the patient. Refreshing.

Dr. Bunker is the best Dentist I have ever had. My whole family goes to him. He is gentle with all of his patients. My children get excited about going to see the Dentist, he talks to them not at them. He lets them play with the tools so they aren’t so afraid of them. I recently had my first cavity and was worried about a filling because my children would be there. He talked to them about what he was doing and reassured them that all would be ok.
He treats all of his patients with friendliness and kindness. We aren’t strangers to him, he knows us and takes the time to continue to know us. It’s rare to find that in the busy lives of professionals these days. We recommend Dr. Bunker to all of our Family and friends!

Dr. Bunker was very kind, helpful and more importantly extremely gentle and proficient. I had a cracked tooth (back molar) that was in urgent need to be repaired. He was very calm, knowledgeable and walked me through the different options for repair. I appreciated the candor and straight talk. He had me fixed up and good to go in less than 45 minutes, which was very helpful for a busy schedule. I have always had a negative opinion of dentists, but this one is different, I will definitely be going back.
