The service is awful. Our waiter Charlie was very impatient and rude.

**CLOSED** This location is closing March 31, 2013. Apparently the center did not renew their lease, hoping to draw a higher caliber establishment. Growing pains, for sure, but the rest of the changes to the Highlands have been positive. Looking forward to what will be coming in…

Had dinner here the other night(Friday night) and we stuck to breakfast items since that is all they can make correctly. I saw another family send back all of their fruit since it looked about a week old. Our waitress was kind enough to warn us not to order any of the previously fresh fruit. My Swedish crepes were good, as usual. This is my standard order as it is always good. My son liked his kids silver dollar pancakes and eggs. My wife got some veggie omelet thing which was ok. She also ordered mozzarella sticks, which seemed like standard frozen deep fried cheese sticks. Decent but not thrilling. I got a pot of coffee which was satisfying. I asked for real«half and half» instead of that non-dairy chemical based«creamer» and they had some, which was awesome. I am allergic to non-dairy creamer for some odd reason. The place was quite empty even though the shopping center was busy. I guess everyone else in Carmel Valley found their way to Burlap. I did have to circle around a few times before I was able to fight my way into a parking space. Weekends are very busy here; so, plan accordingly.

I ordered sirloin tips and eggs to go, I was in a hurry, walked in to grab the food n go, they had no order and had to start it from the time I walked in… anyways I will never go to IHOP again everrr, Never really liked ihop anyways. And when I tasted the steak it wasnt that good, really tough…

Server friendly however part of my breakfast served cold. No follow up at the table till I was finished with my meal.

Food: 2⁄5. Western omelette was good, but pancakes weren’t done… the batter was still wet when they came out. They must not do pancakes that often… I guess properly cooked pancakes is too much to ask from the International House of… what’s that P stand for again? Service: 5⁄5. Outdoor seating was nice, you don’t see that at an IHOP too often. We did have the most outstanding service from a waitress named Catherine. Very sweet, attentive, and helpful throughout our entire meal. If you happen to eat here please ask for her!

This place is ok, you know what to expect, and you get exactly that. They usually don’t disappoint, but don’t impress either. Went here with the family(2 adults, 1 kid, 1 infant) for late breakfast. We ordered pancakes and French toast. Pros: * Inexpensive * Pot of coffee with self-serve * Large servings Cons: * So-so food quality * Dated interior * Compensate quality with serving sizes, I’d rather have smaller pancakes that tasted better Service was fine, not super-attentive, but friendly and efficient. We’ll probably go to another place for breakfast in the future, but we were in the area and have gone to this place before. Next time I’ll probably go to a place where it’s a little more pricey, but better quality.

I don’t even know where to start… I asked Hugo for a pot of coffee, and he brought it to my table and he just poured it into my cup which had lemon water in it… I was pretty speechless. This lady was setting utensils on all the empty tables but didn’t notice at all that my table did not have any utensils… When I asked the same lady politely for a pot of coffee that’s hotter, she did bring me a hotter pot but I could tell she was not happy about it… even though I was being polite to her the whole time and thanked her and told her to new pot was much hotter. She didn’t seem to care haha. The food took a while, 2 tables that ordered after us got their food before we did. When the food finally came, the hash brown was super salty and the food was lukewarm –_-;; to make matters worse, when Hugo was cleaning up my table, he just tilted a whole cup of water and spilled it all over the table… it almost got on my sweater which was on the chair… imagine if it was coffee… I’m never coming back again.

IHOP is a solid three stars. Why have I never gone to this location until recently after living in the area for a while now is beyond me. For decent eats, you’ll get a meal that will probably keep you full through lunch time. We went here after attending the early morning, Easter Sunday mass at St. Therese down the street. It was nice to be seated right away from the host with menus already in hand as we walked through the door. It’s a clean, no frills restaurant. Charlie our server was consistently good with checking in on us. Food wasn’t bad, we both ordered the chicken fried steak. The boyfriend wanted extra gravy, so they brought more out for him a minute later. The carafe of coffee they leave at your table wasn’t put to much use, I was good after one cup of joe, but nice you had the option to refill at your own pace. We’d go back, $ 27 for our two entrees and two coffees is better than spending three times that amount at nearby Burlap for a frou-frou Sunday brunch. So whenever the mood strikes where we don’t want to cook our own breakfast, we’ll definitely go to IHOP for a no frou-frou breakfast or Burlap for a drinking-mimosas-with-my-pinky-up type of brunch.

It’s IHOP people. Breakfast is great, especially if you like pancakes. Dinner is okay, not spectacular. The service every time that I have gone has been wonderful. Coffee is a little pricey, and just average tasting.

Waitress insisted on memorizing my order instead of writing it down. amazingly she got it right.(Party of four) The food here was better than the ihop across the street from my house. I was impressed. Pancakes were fluffy and the service was great. One of the kids got to eat for free. I was hoping to get 2 free kids meals since there were 2 paying adults but only got 1. Oh well

IHOP… my kids love it. the service has gone from awful to not so bad to sometimes pretty awesome… i miss the little gay guy server… he was the best server here ever… but haven’t seen him in forever. i try not to go without a coupon… but their lame coupons usually aren’t good on weekends or holidays and when you have to buy 2 drinks and an entrée… its just the same as paying for two meals and drinking water… i’d rather get my coffee at starbucks anyways… the coffee is not so good here. i dont know when i became a coffee snob… but somehow it happened. food is pretty good… love the fancy pancakes… and sausage… and more sausage… we usually get 3 adults entrée’s and split it between 4 of us and still have leftovers… parking is easy… if you get here too late in the morning on a saturday or sunday, be prepared to wait cuz every kid is here after their soccer/little league game. evenings are a ghost town in here… i will probably continue to keep coming to IHOP for the rest of my life… just not frequently. i would much rather go to Prep Kitchen for brunch(now they have good coffee)…but my kids like it here much more. wish they served a passion fruit mimosa… i would love it here more

Love IHOP. This one is in a big shopping center close by my house. They have an outdoor patio, no smoking, but its great if the sun is out and you want to sit outside and read the paper while you eat. Good enough for me!

great place to take friends to, food is sysco quality but is great for the American breakfast fix. I get the rooty tooty fresh and fruity and always eat only half and take the rest home(splitting a 900 calorie meal to 450, which is within traditional criteria for a «meal» if you’re a fitness major). Portioning is easy if you ask your server to halve your meal or something for later if you are health-conscious like me. Only thing I don’t like about the place is the lighting. It’s really stale. Even modern day reincarnations of «the 50’s diner» look better than this place at night. During the day this IHOP looks ok. The menu now boasts a calorie indicator for every item on the menu if you are health conscious. And the hours here are NOT24 hour. Sales at this IHOP aren’t good enough especially in this upscale upper-middle class neighborhood. Just keep this in mind if you’re coming back from the airport and you’re looking for a diner that is still open. I’d come back again. :)

I ate here 3 times and the experience was the same every time. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, especially since this is the closest place I know of that serves pancakes. The service isn’t good – forget formalities, this place just sucks. It feels so ghetto and it’s in Carmel Valley. This was my only IHOP experience. I hope that the other IHOPs aren’t like this one.

Man, there is nothing like seeing pigs in a blanket on a menu to make me happy. I guess I really am a very simple man. Four beautiful sausage links bedded snugly in their own individual pancake blankets. You know the cook sang a nice lullaby to them while plating them, I know I would’ve. Hush, little sausages, don’t say a word. Papa’s gonna buy you a thick slathering of syrup. And if that thick slathering of syrup won’t soak in, Papa’s gonna buy you a smothering coating of butter. And if that smothering coating of butter melts down in your cracks, Papa’s gonna buy you two eggs sunny side up, And if those two eggs sunny side up gets broke, Papa’s gonna buy you a side of hash, And if that side of hash won’t fill, Papa’s gonna buy you a carafe of freshly squeezed orange juice, And after that freshly squeezed orange juice carafe gets drunk, You’ll still be the sweetest breakfast in my stomach. or something like that. And man, were those eggs, sausage, and pancakes ever good! The service was great too. Our server was very attentive and it was an incredibly busy Saturday morning.

Ate here a couple of years ago and the experience was so bad that it was unforgettable! I made the mistake of ordering something other than a pancake. The wrong order arrived so we had to wait an add’l 15 mins or so for our correct order to arrive. No apologies. The food sucked. Never going back.

This location is OK. That’s saying a lot as far as iHOPs go. Staff is not really overly friendly here and the place could probably be a bit cleaner inside. Never got sick from the burgers I ate here. I’d only go here on a coupon and if I happened to be doing something else at the mall. Used to be mobbed on weekends but we really don’t have very many breakfast places here in North City. Ample parking in the strip mall parking lot.
