Quite possibly the worst service and food that you will find in San Diego. Rice balls that are still frozen on the inside when they are served, and waiters that refuse to serve you when you are sitting at a table near the door. Go to McDonalds — the food, service and ambience will be better.

Harbor’s Edge is located inside the Sheridan Marina Hotel and it was a great experience eating here! The food was really something, but just a word for the wise, this might not be for the budget friendly traveler. The restaurant overlooks the marina and just has that great vibe that you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a great place to eat along with a spectacular view of the marina, I would start here. The food was just as good I hoped for the price I was paying. It really depends on what you order, but the fish and steaks were cooked to perfection with delicious flavors. The service was outstanding! I always judge a restaurant by how well they treat their customers, and for that, I will come back here again soon!

Enjoyed our meal but the noise level made conversation difficult. We shared a variety of small plates and they were all very tasty. I would probably return if I am in the San Diego downtown area.

My husband, child, and I came to this restaurant because we were spending our Thanksgiving away from home this year. We searched and chose this restaurant because of the menu and the buffet style. We were ignored the entire meal and watched as other customers were served drinks and champagne that was to be included in the $ 59.95 per person price of the meal. We had to beg bus boys just to bring us water. When we were finished with our meal and our infant became fussy, a waiter was no where in sight to take care of our bill. We had to go to the hostess station to let them know about our lack of service. All we received was a blank stare. They simply took our check and ran our card with no apology. We then requested a parking voucher that was also to be included, but they would not give us one because we left our parking ticket in the car. After the service we received at dinner, a voucher without a parking ticket was the least they could do. We received no apologizes; not even a «have a nice evening» or «thank you for dining with us». The customer service was absolutely terrible and ruined what could have been a nice meal away from our loved ones. I sure miss Southern hospitality!

First of all my glass was empty and so was my friends she got her glass filled and mine didn’t. Second of all I ordered the classic American burger medium rare it came well and the buns were burnt my friend ordered the turkey burger and she got a classic burger the food was way overpriced for the portion received too. I was not satisfied nor full I had to go to in and out which was twice as good. Overall horrible experience never staying at this hotel again.

For a restaurant in a hotel, the food was surprisingly good. Came here for brunch yesterday and ordered the eggs benedict. The eggs were poached perfectly and the hash browns were nice and crispy. The service was good and we had a beautiful view of the marina. The food is pricey though but that’s expected because of it’s location — everything is overpriced in hotels. I would come back if I was staying at the hotel because of the convenience. I don’t know why anyone would come here just to eat at the restaurant since parking is super expensive.

Honestly for the breakfast buffet it’s a two star only because of the view of the marina which is incredible! The food was pretty blah for being so expensive. It’s so calm and peaceful looking out at all the boats and the marina. So two stars had to be given. The view is really amazing. With that being said that’s the most exciting part of the breakfast buffet. The rest would be 1 star. The server was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary as far as the service. It was pretty empty when we eat at 8am so that may have been a sign to pass. I do have to say the ambients was nice. Since it’s pretty price buffet I thought it would have a large variety of food options. This was wrong. The buffet had pretty much the basics for breakfast. An ok variety of fruit and an omelet bar were they guy made it for you. Honestly the free breakfast at other chain hotels tasted better. The guy making he omelets took our order and made them. Didn’t seem like a people person. The bacon tasted microwaved, the ham was rubbery and the sausage was big links that I’m not a fan of. Again this is only for the breakfast buffet to steer clear from. The menu for dinner looked pretty good and I may try the dinner but for now it stays a two star. I hate having to give low stars but it’s the true. Hopefully they can spruce up there selection or lower the price.

Food is good, but drinks are pricy and not the most experienced servers. Came here for a friend’s birthday dinner, and we were a party of 8. Our server was Francisco. I ordered the free range chicken. It was served with farro and a ton of mixed veggies(cauliflower, zucchini, tomatoe, olives, and radish). This was good. For the food alone I would give 4.5 stars. Drinks are over priced. An iced tea is $ 4 and regular drip coffee is about the same. Francisco seemed a bit unsure on splitting checks and had to check if it could be done. When my bill came out, I gave him my card. When I looked at the amount charged vs my bill, I was charged a few $$ more. I asked Francisco about it he was a bit confused and said he probably under charged someone, and would have to check receipts. Not what I would expect.

Horrible service. Table of 3 everyone asked for water, server only brought 2. Asked for butter, it never came. One person ate at the breakfast buffet, after being gone and coming back after 10 minutes the plate was never cleared. Table next to us, sat after us, ate, and were done before we were served. For the price of the food, the service was horrible. Staying here at the Sheraton hotel and will go elsewhere for breakfast in the morning now.

This place is amazing!!! Came for breakfast and thought the brunch was great. Plenty of different options and kids loved it. Saw some things on the dinner menus that intrigued us so we figured we would check it out. WOW are we glad we did. We have now had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners here… Who needs any other restaurants? Definitely recommend!!! P. S. I didn’t even mention the service… That was just as amazing as the food, seriously top notch.

Wow! Let’s talk about exemplary service… Our lead waiter, Marco, made our evening so memorable from start to finish. Our meal was delicious, but it was Marco who really took us to a five star rating, He was positive, friendly, and professional. In short, he brought our evening from good to great! We shared a delicious gem salad, and then had short ribs and lamb as our entrees. Both were fabulous, and afterwards we planned to finish our yummy(and well priced) wine and forgo dessert. Marco brought us each a complimentary small dish of chocolate ice cream at the end of our night, saying he thought it would go great with our nice red wine. This is a lovely location, our harbor view table was perfect, the food was delicious, and our waiter was the best we’ve had in recent memory!

$ 52/pp for me and mama for their Thanksgiving buffet. free for the kiddies under 5. WHATANAMAZINGLINEUPTHEYHAD! i was exploring other Thanksgiving spots for SD, but, was delighted to find this one at our hotel. great quality and variety of food available. traditional gobble gobble fare on hand like stuffing, mash taters, greens, sweet potato, along with lots of salad options and mixed veggie options. they also had a pasta bar with all the fixings. a cold seafood bar with peeled shrimp and shelled crab claws. SHELLEDCRABCLAWS!!! the gratuitous Turkey was there, but, in lieu of ham, they had roast tenderloin. MAN! on top of that, a full array of desserts to satisfy your hearts content. OHMYBUDDHA!!! we feasted like the pilgrims and indians must have. the kids ate themselves into a coma. the reason for a missing star? shhh… mama may have gotten food poisoning here. the only thing we didn’t share was the crab claws. but, prior to all the vomiting and etc etc, she thoroughly enjoyed everything. i know i did. :)

Came here for the first time on thanksgiving. Was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the dining venue was. The spread was impressive and far exceeded my expectations for the price paid. My only gripe would be the rationing of the turkey. Each serving was extremely small, but it was a buffet so it just meant more trips.

I came to celebrate my partner In life’s birthday and ordered the salmon, seafood soup and all was outstanding in presentation, quality and flavor. The waiter was very friendly and gave my girl molten cake. It made for a great experience!

It’s official, I’ve had the worst meal of my life at Harbor’s Edge Restaurant in the Sheraton. Where to begin? The evening started off well enough, we were seated right away, which wasn’t surprising given that there were only about 4 other occupied tables in the restaurant. Our server came over within a reasonable amount of time, and took our order. Then the fun begins — we waited 45 minutes for 3 bowls of soup and a tomato/burrata salad. When the soup arrived, it was overwhelmingly obvious that the bowls had not been washed, and were actually dirty. All 3 — seriously. My salad arrived, and while it wasn’t terrible by any means, it wasn’t actually burrata, but grocery store-tasting mozzarella. The waiter apologized profusely for the bowl situation and took them away and replaced them promptly. We asked to see the manager for obvious reasons, who was quite apologetic, and explained that they only have one kitchen for the entire hotel, and they were obviously overwhelmed. Now here’s where it gets worse. One would think that with the manager being aware of our horrible experience up to this point, he/they/someone would ensure that the rest of the meal would go better. Alas, it was not to be. We waited another 25 minutes for our entrees which were, with the exception of one meal, completely inedible. I had ordered the scallop appetizer($ 12 or $ 13, I think) which consisted of 1−½ scallops cut into 3 pieces, charred and swimming in some kind of oil. You really have to go out of your way to make scallops this horribly. My husband ordered the crab cakes, which were cold and very fishy. Our other friend ordered a simple pasta in marinara, which arrived cold and in one giant clump. Yum. The only meal that was passable was our other friend’s steak, which although a bit cold, tasted OK. I hope very much that tonight was a fluke, which it seems like it was from other reviews, but it was almost comically horrible. Almost…

I’m a Starwood Platinum members and spend more time in hotel eateries than I care to admit. With a few dishes that reflect the local cuisine to add some variety, most Starwood eateries stick to the same old dishes at every location. Tedious is the best description of hotel restaurants. Harbor’s Edge at the San Diego Sheraton and Marina is the exception to the rule. It’s the dinner menu that differentiates here. While admittedly a bit pricey($ 30+ for their specials), their Cioppino and Mediterranean Sea Bass certainly justifies the price. The two best meals I had on my last trip to San Diego. Best sea food dishes I’ve had in a while, period. The Cioppino comes with fresh seafood including Maine lobster, Alaskan King Crab, a substantial scallop and other various mussels and clams. Coupled with a spicy, briny tomato broth — easily the best Cioppino I’ve ever had. Only complaint, for $ 37, more appetizer than entrée. The sea bass(also at $ 37) is a much more substantial meal. Deep fried whole complete with head, fins and tail; the bass is nicely complimented with a Ponzu sauce that really brings out the flavor. Crunchy goodness surrounding high quality fish, I would have eaten the bones if I could have gotten them down. If ever in San Diego, I would drive out of my way to eat at this particular hotel eatery. Recommend the same for any seafood lover looking for a great meal.

Stopped down here our first night at the hotel with my husband for a quick drink. He ordered a beer I ordered club soda. Service was very slow. Beer was 8 dollars(expected) but my club soda was $ 4! For one highball glass full of ice and carbonated tap water! I was just surprised as most bars serve that for no charge when I’m with someone ordering alcohol.

I had the grilled salmon. The food was very good and appeared to be healthy. Rudy was the bartender and he did a great job of making the guests feel welcomed. He was also very informed on the menu and even had some suggestions to make the meal better.

My boyfriend and I came in on a Sunday night to have our last dinner during our San Diego trip and while the place had good ambiance and good food, the service was slightly less than mediocre. They were so badly understaffed that when we walked up to the front of the restaurant, it took the hostess 15 minutes to even walk over to where we were, only to be told that it would be a 20 minute wait. The place was almost half-empty, but since they only had 1 or 2 servers for the entire place, we had to wait to be seated. Would’ve been fine except that 20 minutes came and went, and we still hadn’t been seated. When we were finally given a table, it took them a while to get our orders. The waiter was actually very friendly and attentive once we told him what we wanted and it wasn’t his fault that he was stretched so thin but I think that the establishment should reconsider how they staff — if they want good reviews, that is.

I think the restaurant was understaffed when my husband and I went. We waited 20 minutes for a table and, although friendly, the service was very slow. The food was good, but the prices are high. My husband had the halibut, and I had the yellowfin tuna. The fish was good quality, and I enjoyed the seaweed salad served with my dish. This restaurant could be greatly improved if they hired more servers.
