I came in to get a trim and fade but the guy damn near cut most of my hair off. He also told me to comb my own hair and the brushes he had were very dirty. I told the guy the haircut I wanted but he barely listened. It was as if I wasn’t even there. He rushed through the haircut, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, they just want to make money as fast as possible. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

I would always get my eyebrows done by Tom. Cindy is good but she’s always so busy and for that she’s always rushing. Tom takes his time and is extremely good. Lately I haven’t seen him and everything I ask for him they tell me his not there. One of the lady’s, very secretive told me he no longer works there so if anyone knows where he is pls let me know!

I’ve been coming to this shop for over ten years & the only complaint I’ve had are the occasional obnoxious customer… That could be the case anywhere.
Cindy has been doing my eyebrows since I started coming and I won’t let anyone else touch them. They don’t take appointments, you walk in, add your name on the list & wait your turn. Cindy is very popular, so the wait can be 45+ minutes ~ for $ 7 and an awesome job, I’ll wait.
I also get my toes done, I prefer one of the ladies. I stopped having the guy do my pedicure because he rushes through it and doesn’t do a very good job polishing. $ 11 for your basic pedicure a few more dollars if you want a design or french tips.
The shop is zero frills. I’m okay with that, it keeps my cost down too. They share a tiny parking lot with other shops, so parking can be a challenge at times. They only accept CASH.

I LOVE Cindy ! My mom & I have been coming to her for about 15 years now! That’s how much we love her ! My mom would come to her when I was little & then Cindy started doing my brows when I was about 14. The number one compliment I have always gotten throughout the years is about my brows. I feel guilty when I go to anyone but Cindy & sure enough, everyone else never leaves my brows so perfectly arched and symmetrical like she does. And it’s only 7 bucks :)

Been coming here for about 5 years now. I have no idea how i found this place out, other than coming from the Bay area i was used to have vietnamese ladies cut my hair and i know i needed to find one that are just as good down here. Thus i found this place. its small, and its more than just a place for a haircut. They can also do medi-​pedis and other beauty services.
its located in the Ghetto, but sometimes the best places are in the ghetto.
I have tried all the ladies there, they are very nice. Kim or Cindy would be my recommendation.

This is an Asian nail salon located in the ghetto. It’s a no frills salon, but it’s popular. I only come here for a haircut and I’ve tried all their haircutters there before. But now I only get a haircut from Cindy. She is very nice and she listens to what I want!

I’ve been coming here for my eyebrows with Cindy since I was 14 years old (so 14 years now) and i Iove her work!!! When I become rich one day I will hire her just for myself and no one can have her! Lol jk nah really I’m serious :)

I’ve been here a few times for a shellac manicure. The first time I went, I had a good experience with the woman whose station is connected to the front desk. She was fast and did a great job on my manicure. The two times I’ve been back since then, the woman who did my nails the first time was on vacation. They currently have one person who does shellac manicures. She is inexperienced, and filed my cuticles until they bled on a couple fingers.
Twice now I have waited to be seen for long periods of time. The first time, it was the end of the day, and after waiting 15 minutes I was told they didn’t have time to do my nails (why not just say that when I walked in?!). The second time (yesterday) I waited for 40 minutes while the woman socialized with her client while giving her a pedicure. When she hadn’t even opened the nail polish after that long, I left and went to Mai Salon on El Cajon Boulevard, where I had an infinitely better experience. I won’t be back here!

This rating is strictly about the waxing because that is the only service I get here. I’ve had my eyebrows done by 2 people at this place, one a woman and the other a man.
I only know the lady’s name, Cindy, because she is the most requested person. My experience with her was not the greatest. She always leaves my eyebrows super thin, but at least they are symmetrical.
I don’t know the man’s name, I’ve asked for his name a few times, but I can’t seem to understand due to his accent and my terrible hearing, which reminds me, I need to learn Vietnamese…
Anyway I really like how the man does my eyebrows. They are perfect every time. He does such a fantastic job. They are always symmetrical and they aren’t too thin. He always takes his time and it’s not painful at all.

Flies everywhere. Came in for a polish change on my feet and a gel manicure. Man doing the polish change was lighting fast — because he didn’t cover the entirety of my nails. Woman doing my gel manicure was strange and gave me attitude when she botched two of my nails and I asked her to fix them. Only 5 gel colors to choose from. Gel manicure ($ 25), was sooooo not worth it here.

I LOVE this salon, I’ve been going here for many years. My go to spot to get my nails and hair done in San Diego. I love getting my nails done here because they always come out so beautifully and I’m always getting compliments on my nails. This place is really convenient since it’s is a hair and nails salon, they offer many services including, nails, facials, waxing, and haircuts/​hair coloring for reasonable prices too. The workers there are super friendly and welcoming. Space-​wise the place is a good size, the place isn’t too small where you get light headed from smelling all the chemicals nor is it overwhelmingly big. There is a private business parking lot as well as available parking on the side walk. I certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great and affordable salon!

Ever since LJ took me to here to get my eyebrows done, I haven’t gone anywhere else. I’ve been to a few other places in San Diego but no one does eyebrows as well as Cindy can. She spends a lot of time and actually cuts my brows unlike some other places. The only thing is that she’s so popular I usually have to wait a while before she’s available. Sometimes anywhere from 30 – 45 minutes. The best part is that it’s so cheap. For eyebrow and lip waxing, she charges $ 10. I think that just eyebrows is $ 7. I definitely recommend Cindy for eyebrows, but I can’t say much since I haven’t let anyone else there touch my eyebrows.
Like LJ said, don’t expect anything fancy walkin in here. Parking is also very tight, but I always manage to find an open spot anyways. So if you have a nice car, don’t take it here, just be careful because the spaces are so tiny.

I’m graduating in TWO DAYS, FOLKS! ;P So I got my nails didddd, of course! My review probably won’t be as useful as LJ’s but here it is…
I started coming to this place because a friend recommended that my boyfriend cut his hair here. I noticed that their prices were really, really good. $ 20 for acrylics + $ 5 for gel compared to $ 30 elsewhere. Since I’m graduating in a couple days and I’ll be partying it up in VEGAS next weekend (SEE YA THERE?!?), I decided to treat myself to white tips acrylic + glitter (on the tips) + gel. In the end, I was out the door $ 33 poorer (again, $ 20 for acrylics, $ 5 for glitter, $ 5 for gel, $ 3 for tip). Not bad for a job well done.
I didn’t catch her name but the lady that did my nails today was really gentle and polite. I’m Vietnamese but I didn’t let them know that ;P I wanted to see if they’d start talking shit! They didn’t.
One thing I’d note about this place is that their white tips curve at the bottom (see picture). I didn’t like that at first but now I prefer it! Parking is horrible (small ass street, small ass parking spots) but I always manage to find parking. Other than that, expect your usual hole-​in-​the-​wall hair and nail spot!
And when I say you get what you pay for, I mean you won’t find fancy pedicure massage chairs, tvs, etc. BUT your nails will still look real good and sexy ;P
