Casey made me a beautiful chakra bracelet as well as a blue tiger eye bracelet. It arrived in 2 days nicely packaged with a special gift. Casey has a marvelous shop in Old Town, San Diego, along with a wonderful website. Can’t find what you are looking for? Contact Casey and he will custom make what you want!

Casey and Clint are great! I go in this place every time I’m near Old Town. Casey is extremely knowledgeable about everything in the store and about the uses for and meanings of certain items. The energy is like home away from home and it is a must stop! Ask Casey for a Tibetan Healing Bowl demonstration while you are there! You will be glad you did!

I went to old town in the 5th of May, and I happened to stumbled upon this antique store. I was ready to make a purchased and I waited to be rung up, they guy at the store didn’t even acknowledge me he was just fixing and putting away stuff. I waited patiently, made eye contact with him let him know I was ready. He ignored me and instead went to help other customers but I noticed that he was annoyed with the customers asking him too many questions. The items I wanted to purchase added up to at $ 45. This isn’t the first time it has happened.

One of my favorite shops ever. I have found such wonderful treasures there. The owner was very helpful in finding items for me and explaining where they came from and their symbolism. If you get to Old Town San Diego please visit this store. You will be so happy inside.

I was probably in the store for what felt like 5 mins but it was def longer because there is so many spiritual tools and the owner is filled with information. If you come to visit Old Town San Diego, this store is must visit! Walking in you have great sense of calmness, peace, and tranquility! Staff was also very insightful who speak about there product with passion. Which is rare to come by in such young people.

I LOVE this store. I was instantly drawn to it when I was walking around Old Town. The energy is very powerful. The first time I went there Clint was so helpful, we ended up staying for over an hour! I went back again to get a healing bowl session with Casey and it was incredible. I highly recommend this store!

I love this place. I went down to SD for a little vacation and this is now one of the stops I HAVE to make when I am in town. Casey the owner is so nice and welcoming. He was kind enough to give me a complementary healing bowl session, which I had never had before, and it was ah-mazing. The staff are so kind and really helpful and informative. I really love the vibe in there. Stop by when in old town, you won’t be disappointed.

By far, one of the greatest stores in San Diego! Casey, the owner, is so kind and authentic. His knowledge and passion are apparent and he goes above and beyond with the guests in the store. Every time I visit he takes the time to talk to me and answer my questions! The healing bowl demo is incredible and I highly recommend it! This is a must visit store! You won’t be disappointed!!!

I’m frankly flabbergasted by the previous reviewer that wrote only lies about this business. I have been to San Diego for years since my brother lives there with my nephew and my sister in law, and Gum Saan is an obligated stop for us. I’m a serious Unilocal reviewer and never hide myself behind a review without a picture or previous reviews. The owner, which is not a punk but a very serious and kind young man, has always been very friendly and professional. That said, the store is never empty and the hard work and dedication that Casey puts in everything.he.touches is unbelievable. Bitter reviewer, just tell the truth because there is NOWAY in heaven that what you’re saying is the truth. I love this store… and everyone I have sent there has always been pleased.

Gum Saan is a wonderful place to stop in San diego Old town as it offers fantastic things direct from Nepal and other places, while also being a resource for knowledge about buddhaism, healing bowls therapy and other activities. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. Its a comfortable welcoming environment — much more that just a retail store! Casey makes everyone feel welcome . This store offers the most high quality healing bowls and by the way, i also ordered online and all my orders arrive on time.

It’s disappointing to see other reviewers give bad ratings because the store is «weird to find in Old Town.» Especially the girl who was excited because she she was looking forward to eating Chinese food? Seems hypocritical. The store has amazing imported products from Asia. I brought my mom here, and though we were raised Buddhist, we aren’t the most actively practiced, so we admired everything with a natural curiosity. My mom really enjoyed browsing the pendants and I loved the singing bowls. We asked a lot of questions to the male clerk who started off nice but eventually his tone came off as impatient and rude. My mom isn’t the best at speaking English, so she tends to need repeating, which I guess annoyed the clerk. What surprised me most about the store wasn’t the fact that it was in the middle of Old Town, but it was the snappy rude guy working in a store that revolved around cultures and religions of peace and mindfulness.

I visited San Diego and this store for the first time this past week and thoroughly enjoyed my experience at both! I had previously lost one pearl earring from a set that my mother-in-law had sent me from Japan two years ago. I am still upset about it; but, thanks to the beautiful Tahitian jewelry stock at Gum Saan, I walked out with two stunning Tahitian pearl necklaces(long and short) and three pair of Tahitian pearl earrings at a great price. They look so beautiful and classic. I can’t wait to wear them to work. And that positive experience rounded off with a very helpful and professional proprietor. Thanks Gum Saan! :-)

I’ve been in this shop more times than I can count, mostly to look at all the things I would love to buy for my home. Casey has been great and a lovely person to converse with. I keep coming back to buy whenever I can.

As someone who looks white, but is in fact half Asian, and was raised thinking a meal isn’t complete without rice, I’m disappointed that people think this place lacks authenticity just because they saw a white guy behind the counter. Way to be shallow! The service here is always friendly, and if you have any questions about their items, ask, and you’ll receive as much detail as you want. Very reasonably priced and beautiful pearl jewelry! I love going through the little trinkets on the counter, too, sometimes that’s the cutest find! My only regret is that they close so early; I work up by UTC, and there’s no way I can stop by here on a weekday after work :(

Since we live in Georgia, we only can visit Gum Saan once or twice a year when we visit my Dad. We found Gum Saan several years ago, when we visited Old Town. Whenever we are in San Diego, we make time to visit Gum Saan, Casey is very helpful and I can spend hours in there browsing. We always walk out with treasured purchases that we take home to Georgia. The pricing on Casey’s inventory is reasonable and I find myself drawn to his authentic antique pieces that are placed throughout the store. This past June(2012), when we visited Gum Saan, we were dismayed to learn that the original structure burned but Casey D. has brought it back and we were delighted to be able to shop there again.

I passed by this yesterday morning while walking through Old Town and after I’d already gotten back to my car it hit me that this place most definitely had prayer flags. I rushed back to go find out and sure enough they did. You might be wondering why a 19 year old American kid wants prayer flags for. I may be very open to all religions and beliefs but that’s not the reason. I want to climb Everest one day. After reading all of the books on mountains in the Himalaya and their ascents and tragedies, and seeing all the pictures of the Tibetan prayer flags flying in the wind with the white mountains looming ominously and beautifully in the background, I’ve always wanted some. I finally found a place and I can’t wait to go get more. The ones I got yesterday are already up in my room and look lovely. I hope Green Tara protects me in all the dangerous activities that I do.

Loved this store! I love stores that have small trinkets like this one. I’m very into goodluck charms at the moment and when I asked the woman she showed me SEVERAL items that she had. I wish I got her name because she was extremely knowledgable with everything in the store. I bought a ring and a buddha head bead. The woman was so nice that she even made me a bracelet for my bead. =) And everything is reasonably priced. When I come back to Old Town, I will for sure be stopping by again! =D

When I saw the name, I thought«FINALLY, some Chinese food» but it wasn’t. I was a bit disappointed when I found out they sold antiques and whatnot. It was really odd seeing this in Old Town.

Of all the little shops we stopped to browse at in Old Town San Diego, this one has gotta take the cake in being the funniest and cheesiest of all. Gum Saan means«Gold Mountain» in Cantonese, a euphemism for San Francisco which was known way back then as Gold Mountain. It’s still a phrase used today in Asia for my beloved city. Anyway, this store sells Asian themed things from pottery to jewelry to artwork and more. When I entered the store I had expected to see some Asian lady all dressed up in her Asian outfit minding the store. Instead, there was this blond guy in there sitting behind the counter fanning himself. Dear Lord, I was cracking up so hard I had to run out of the store. Only in America!
