Grissel saved and transformed my hair! She definitely knows how to do blonde hair! :) I got referred to her about a year ago and I am hooked! All the work she does is perfect! If you’re not 100% satisfied with your stylist, you NEED to go to Grissel! She will make you love your hair!

Grissel is AMAZING! I came to her with black hair and asked to go back to my natural blonde color. We gradually went to a beautiful blonde color without my hair falling out or becoming more unhealthy. Surprisingly my hair is more healthy than it was before! I LOVE what she can do to anyone’s hair and she really knows what she’s doing!

This review is long overdue.
If you’ve found Grissel in San Diego consider yourself lucky, because you’re getting celebrity stylist level of work at a much more reasonable price. Grissel is truly an artist. She’s been doing hair since she was a teenager, and has worked on hundreds of photo shoots in LA for major fashion magazines. The only reason her studio is in San Diego, is because she lives there.
Having the right hair stylist really makes the difference between looking good and looking hot. I live and work in the entertainment business in LA, so I’m aware of that probably more so than most people. It took me 2 years of searching to find her. I plan on booking Grissel on my up coming TV and film projects, and I personally come all the way down to SD every few weeks, so she can do my hair. It’s more than worth it because she’s THAT good.
I have friends who pay 3 times as much as I do to get their hair done at high end salons, and I always feel like they’re getting ripped off because my hair looks just as good, if not better, and I’m not breaking the bank like they are.
Over the last 6 – 7 years that I’ve been her client, we’ve taken my hair from a boring brown to every shade of red, black, brown and blonde. We’ve also tried various different looks with bangs and layers. She can also match high quality real hair extensions to your color. A lot of times I bring a picture from a magazine with me. It doesn’t matter what I ask for, Grissel makes it happen even better than I had imagined.
On top of that, she’s one of the most amazing, genuine people I know. Despite her busy schedule she always makes her clients feel like VIPs, and works with them to find an appointment that works. She’s always on time, and always so fun to talk to while you’re getting you hair done.
Just stop looking now because you’ve hit the jackpot! :)

Ok, I’m just going to get to the point– Grissel is THE best.
I started getting my hair done by her in 2005 after my «hairstylist» friend seriously BOTCHED my hair. Grissel not only fixed my hair but gave me a whole new perspective & appreciation for what a great hair cut/​color can do.
Grissel has no problem telling you what she think will/​won’t work and will even carry out your crazy whims– I’ve added purple, turquoise, pink chopped off about 10″ and experienced the wild life of a redhead.
I’ve since moved from SD to LA and STILL drive down every 2 months because I only trust her! I got my bf to get his hair done by her on my last visit and now he’s hooked too!

If you’re feeling like you just want a new fresh look. Grissel is your dream come true! I’ve been going to her for the past 4 years and continue to get several complements after every cut! A true artist!

I started going to Grissel in 2004 when she was a Junior Stylist at The Salon in Old Town. Fast forward to seven years later and she has continued to be my stylist. Before Grissel I had never regularly visited a stylist more than a handful of times. My hair is fine and wavy and recently she found a great style that allows me to let my hair air dry. I loved the angular bob cut I had before I had my son, but went for this low maintenance style recently and have gotten many compliments. I trust her style and hair care tremendously.
Over the years, I received color on and off and when I did all over color or highlights, it looked great. She is very attentive and records the color and cut to ensure it’s similar the next time if you prefer.
Too bad I recently relocated out of the area and won’t be able to visit her on a regular basis.

Grissel is a true artist! I have had the pleasure of seeing her work styling models for photo shoots and she does amazing work, so imagine what she can do for you. If you’re looking for someone who thinks outside the box, look no more. Give her a call; you won’t be disappointed.

The BEST haircut I have ever had! A miracle worker with long and short hair!

Just booked my second appointment with Grissel. She does absolutely amazing work! I have super thick hair in which I always pitty the stylist that has to work with it. I left her salon with a super sexy style, just how I like. Awesome stylist with a great fun and personable personality. She was a joy to spend the 2 ½ hours with!

Seriously Grissel is the best! I have been looking for years for a great hair dresser and my friend referred me to Grissel and I have been going to her ever since. She does amazing hair cuts and great color. She makes sure you leave her studio looking 100%. She also styled my hair for my wedding and it looked beautiful the whole night. I highly recommend her to everyone. You will get the best hair cut and color with an amazing style and she is down to earth and fun to talk to.

Seriously?! I wish I would have taken a before and after picture. This girl is a miracle worker! My hair has never looked better. I went in with a good 3 inch root stripe (dark brown with blond every where else). For the first time in my life, she asked me what color I like– I was just thinking «just make it go away– make it look good». She did. She did highlights, color, and a blow dry in less than 3 hours. Also, I will add that she did the best blow dry styling ever. I may go to her just for that! She didn’t talk my ear off, and she actually listened when I spoke. Love her!
