I must say, best soft serve ice cream I’ve ever had! Heard it was voted number one in San Diego, had to find out for myself. Has a great selection of drinks and snacks. Clean and always stocked. I recommend East Village Market to anyone in downtown in need of a quick stop. You’ll be more than satisfied. :-)

Love this place. I live a couple of blocks away and am a repeat customer. Way better prices for odds and ends, tobacco, coffee than 711. The staff is friendly & they serve ice cream cones! Five star local downtown San Diego convenience store:)

I usually manage to make it here far more than I should. This spot has changed hands now and the new owner and employees are a great deal better than the last. This corner spot used to have a unhealthy sense of weariness. Now it has cleaned up a good amount. The selection of beverages is enormous, shelves are stocked fairly well with munchies. The soft serve ice cream is my fix, for sure! Cigarette prices are lower than most surrounding competition. Drinks are also cheaper. The employees are a cool bunch. They help me out when needed they don’t tolerate people that are messed up on drugs. So the place is cool to cruise by at night. No more sketchy people asking me for weird crap. Overall, I can’t complain at all about this place or how it’s run now. Keep up the good work.

This place has all the snacks I love! From what I understand, this is under new ownership. There are two main employees who are always there. They are both down to earth and really get to know the customers. The fountain drinks are a lot cheaper then the 7⁄11 right across the trolly tracks!!! I highly recommend the soft serve ice cream cones! The ice cream is behind the counter, ask them to serve you the best cone ever!

Do I come here for excellent customer service? nope. I choose this place over 7⁄11(which is across the street/tracks) because they are independently owned and they have more variety of food neatly crammed in their small location. For the customer service… they are nice but reserved. They deal with so many individuals who will try and take advantage of a business if they can. So I can understand the reasons why they are a little tough.
