Within the last couple of years, East Village has grown to probably be my favorite neighborhood in San Diego. Claiming 130+ blocks of downtown San Diego, the Central Library is located here as well as Petco Park. The recently converted space Quartyard is a sweet spot worth checking out. With businesses, hotels, parks, spaces, and most importantly, amazing restaurants lined up, it’s a cool non-Gaslamp area to hang out in the evenings and even during the day. If you feel like you miss the party lines, 5th Avenue is still just a few minutes away by foot. The best part about EV is that it’s still growing. So I look forward to what’s next here!

Awesome bar and a good time for football games. However, tommy the manager is a extremely rude person to deal with. This bar would have 5 stars if it wasn’t for him.

Walking home from the Padres game last night we decided not to take the direct path home, so we walked around the stadium, up tenth to G street. As we walked from street to street we saw a plethora of «coming soon» signs. We ducked in to a new restaurant to just check out the ambiance. Then as we walked out, I looked down the street and it hit me. … East Village has yet to be UnilocalED! and damn it… it is high time to rate my favorite part of the city. When I remember what East Village looked like 3 years ago it was full of old buildings and parking lots, It was pretty sketchy at night, and the diversity of stores was limited at best. Then one day people came and said«hey this place is effing cool!» Suddenly EV exploded. and is continuing to explode. Not only do we have great places to eat, play, and shop. It’s getting better every day! Soon we will have an elementary school, Thomas Jefferson School of Law, and(God willing) a brand new Library. I think my favorite part of EV is the density, which gives it such an urban feel, everything isn’t too spread out and very walkable. The residents of the area are always very nice and tend to band together when we have issues with the city. Yep I love this neighborhood
