Came here on a Tuesday for ½ off wings. Wait was about 2 hours for 2 people so my friend and I walked down Garnet to hit up some ice cream places to kill time. Bar seating and high tables everywhere else with sports games going on as well as a couple TVs for music videos to accompany the songs playing in the background which was pretty cool. Normally it’s $ 24 for 20 wings and $ 1 extra if you choose 4 flavors. We got the Seoul Wing, Dirty Jerk, Lemon Pepper, and Maple Chipotle(ranked in order of what we liked best!). Seoul had a good kick and lots of flavor. Dirty Jerk was a pretty flavorful dry rub and lemon pepper actually had the tartness from lemon juice which I liked. Maple Chipotle was a little sour, but to me it wasn’t anything special. Comes with carrots and celery with a creamy ranch dip. They charge extra if you want more of the carrots and celery and they also don’t do to-go boxes on Tuesdays because of the special. Many flavors of wings and lots on the menu so won’t get bored any time soon for my next visits. Servers are very friendly, but you’ll have to get their attention as they’re really busy. Great place for a night with friends and great tasting wings! Crunchy, saucy, and flavorful. New go-to wing place?

Some of the best wings I’ve found in San Diego! Personally I only really like the buffalo wings. That being said, I’ve had a few flavors such as Seoul, Teriyaki, Garlic Parm, many more. Every time I try a new flavor I remember exactly why I like only buffalo. But those are always a win! Oh yeah, they do all drums if you like for 1 $ more.

Great wings! This place is great because you can split the order into multiple flavors, which is great for my family. I like mine crispy and that’s how they come. Cooked to perfection! All you can eat on Monday nights is a great value if you can eat a couple dozen. They also have a nice beer list, and the games on TV. No kids after 8pm.

Dive bar. Good happy hour specials. Their food was okay. Didn’t have the wings though but in sure they were good. We had the fish tacos which were big and they serve with a choice of tater tots or fries. Yum! The $ 3 mimosa special was just okay. I don’t think there was real oj used. I wouldn’t go back but it was fine for a quick meal. Check out the other taco shops around the corner.

Dirty birds is a fun bar tucked away on mission boulevard in pacific beach featuring some of the best chicken wings in town. It’s a fun place to catch a game, a brew, and some grub since they are offering over 30 flavors of wings to choose from! The best time to get wings is during happy hour Monday through Friday when they offer half off all wings during those times. They also offer great beer deals by the glass or pitcher. Service is always good and the staff is friendly. #sandiegofoodgirls

I’m usually not one to give 1 or 2 stars, but I really wasn’t satisfied! My boyfriend kept telling me how everyone raves about this place so we came to try it. Maybe the sauces we got weren’t good? We got an order of 20 wings which comes with 4 flavors. I chose lemon pepper and spicy garlic and my boyfriend got the apple bourbon chipotle and 3 Pete bbq. Our server helped us with choosing our flavors. She was nice and attentive. Anyways, wings came out and we were not satisfied with the flavors. I’m not saying it was her fault because those were the ones I was going to get in the first place. Maybe the other flavors are better?

Wingstop will ALWAYS be my #1 go-to fast food chain for chicken wings, don’t get me wrong. But if you’re ever in the PB area, forget Bub’s, and go to Dirty Birds. WINGS(and tots) are BOMB! I’ve been here a few times, and each time I leave feelin reaaaal satisfied. HAPPYHOUR — 3 to 6pm with half off wings and pitchers! MONDAYS — All you can eat for $ 14.99! Great deal! I’m not really a spice type of guy, so I haven’t really tried the wings with the red flags haha, but I have tried the buffalo, lemon pepper, teriyaki, garlic parm, and applewood bourbon chipotle. All bomb and super tasty! Definitely a step above wangstop. Just a caution: parking sucks, it’s all street parking! And this place gets packed reaaaal quick at night, so be prepared to wait for a bit. They also card for 21+ after 8pm(?).

Came back here a while ago with the in laws and were soooo sorry we did. The service was horrendous! It took forever to place our orders and then twice that to get our food. Like, we waited about an hour and if it was just me I would have walked out. The waitress never apologized, but preemptively threw excuses at us, getting defensive before we could complain. Her excuses didn’t sound logical either, and her attitude was horrible. She acted like us being there was an imposition when we had done nothing. The in laws smiled through the whole thing like troopers and we were mortified to have brought them there. Two stars is because the food itself when it finally got there was tasty per usual. But geez… I hope my father in law didn’t leave too much of a tip because that waitress was a nightmare.

OHMYGOSH these wings are amazing! Like… AMAZING! The PERFECT amount of sauce but still lots of meat on the bone. The worst is when you go somewhere and there is hardly any meat on the wing & they’re dry… not the case here! They have a happy hour Mon-Fri from 3 – 6 pm & the wings are half price! Each day they have specials so check their site before going!

Wanted to grab a beer and appetizer and had prob the worst experience I’ve had in San Diego. Let me start with the water which had white things floating at the bottom of the glass. Then here comes my chips and dip which had pieces of fried food at the bottom somethings I don’t even know what it was and then I recognized a chicken bone… Yes a chicken bone in the bottom of my chips and dip talk about disgusting. I asked my waiter if the fry the chicken and chips in the same oil she stated no then she says maybe it’s from tossing them around… What does that mean??? I got a «sorry about that not even a let me get you a fresh batch. I would never step foot near this place again who knows what’s going on in that kitchen. 1 star because I have too.

For what this place is, I can only give it 2 stars. If there was a ½ star, then it would be 2.5 At the end of an eventful & expensive Sunday Funday in PB, the guys in our group were set on cheap food before we said goodnight. Dirty Birds it was… The guys had burgers, which they seemed to enjoy. I had the grilled shrimp quesadilla, it was pretty good, but it did have leftover fried pieces of other food on the tortilla(probably from fried chicken or something.) I picked it off, and enjoyed it thoroughly. I also ordered a side garden salad, it looked great, but had a curly blonde hair in it. I handed it off to one of the guys, who happily ate it. I was fine with our experience up until my friend got her order, chicken tenders & fries. The chicken was not a golden fried color, but a darker grayish brown. Basically the oil in the frier had been used too much, too long and hadn’t been cleaned out and replaced with new oil. My friend didn’t like her chicken, so she kindly called our waitress over, let her know that her chicken had a burned taste. She asked if she could have a new batch and the waitress said«To be honest, I could switch it out for you, but it will just come out the exact same way, that’s just how the chicken is.) Having had my first job in the restaurant business, I couldn’t believe this place would even serve food if they knew it was coming out like that. The oil needs to be changed regularly and the waitress should have offered her another dish to replace it. I honestly hope this review is read by the right person and taken constructively. I’m sure I’ll be back sometime and also hope to have a different experience.

This is a review for the Monday unlimited, all-you-can-eat wang special(at $ 13.99). As evident from the star rating, my time here was far from fabulous. But, I leave Dirty Birds with a 2 instead of a 1 because in spite of the horrible experience there last Monday, I can still vouch for their wing hype. Just don’t go on a Monday night… with a large party at least. The night began at 6pm when we checked in with the door man who alerted us to the 45min-1 hour wait for our party. Okay, that was a bit shocking but we could deal so long as it wasn’t pouring on us outside. What really annoyed me was the doorman’s constant announcement about the other location near SDSU. Yes, they have the same specials and it’s a lot bigger, but we’ve already taken the effort to park so — NO — we are not going to leave. Stop turning our business away and kindly secure a table for us. The wait ended up being longer than originally announced all while witnessing smaller parties getting seated in favor of ours. We eventually brought this up to the doorman who insisted that his plan was to seat us at tables where another large party was happily, nonchalantly, and very slowly sipping on some beers. Okay, I understand that you have no idea how long they were going to be there, SO instead of seating other parties at the smaller table over ours, then you should consider combining those tables together for us. In the end, we had to delegate and claim a single smaller table before securing the one nearby after that party left. This could have easily been performed earlier, but the doorman was very stubborn about waiting on the other table. If we hadn’t taken it into our own hands, we would have ended up waiting on that party for 3 hours or more! They were still there after we left and showed no sign of leaving even still. I get their reasoning for seating the smaller parties from a business perspective, but in the end, that’s just cold-hearted and plain mean. A business should value their customers. All frustrations aside, our negative experience only continued. We reached an understanding with the doorman and we felt that all was going to work out in the end. But, that night they were also very understaffed. The waitresses were great, but there was just no way for them to handle that many guests. So, it took 15 minutes for them to come over to take our order. In between orders, wings also took at least 20 minutes to arrive. At that point, we were honestly sick of waiting. *Be mindful, your first round of wings has to be a single flavor! There are 10 wings.* — this first basket also comes with celery, carrots, and your choice of tots/fries. After the first round you’re pretty much full. The second round is half the size at 5 wings(no sides), but you have to have a pretty ravenous hunger to even get through the whole thing. I got my money’s worth and managed two more wings after my 10. Their wings were bomb though and flavors were very original. I ordered the Apple Bourbon Chipotle and Garlic Parm. APC wangs were my fav! They were flavorful — tangy, but sweet with a slight kick. All in all, their wings are legit, but paying Monday night for unlimited wings just is not worth it unless you’re capable of eating that much. Skip Monday’s at Dirty Bird’s and go on a normal day when you can get 10 pieces of wings for $ 12 straight up. Or, go to the SDSU location on Monday and don’t even consider this one. It’ll be a major headache which no one needs at the beginning of the week.

After a night at the Comedy Store in La Jolla, we were looking for a place to grub! Thanks to Unilocal,we found this place was still open and serving food. Apparently a rare thing during the week! Parking is around the corner and I imagine on the weekend it’s a rare commodity. The doorman checks ID. He was super friendly. When we got there at 11:10pm on a Tuesday there were two tables open. The bar was full. Lots of people having a great time. The waitress was helpful and friendly. She was knowledgeable about the menu and helped our friends decide the type of wings to order. The wings were awesome, juicy, hot, and flavor was great! A couple of dessert options too. There were so many items on the menu, we know we will come back to try the other things. Seems each night has a different special too.

Wing Tuesday! Not Wednesday! Half off wings and pitchers, it’s definitely super worth it on Tuesday, but expect a crowd. The service is not bad, our water cup is filled most of the time. My favorite is the Honey Mustard wings, they are generous on the sauce, the sauce is tangy and flavorful. They have a great and large selection of flavors for wings, ranging from lemon-pepper to ghost chili. Will definitely be back to try other flavors!

If you want great wings in SD this is a place to definitely try. Large wings, not breaded, and a lot of sauce and rub options to choose from. You’ll definitely find something you like. Most sauces/rubs I’ve tried I liked. If you want something other then buffalo, I recommend the dirty jerk or Seoul. And don’t forget a side of season fries(pretty large portion so 2 can share) They have tons of other menu options besides wings but I haven’t tried them, because the wings are that good. High marks for their wings but there are a few negatives: Pretty standard beer selection. Sometimes under staffed and can take awhile. The décor feels a little old and could use a face lift. Ravens bar on NFL Sunday. Otherwise a great place to satisfy your wing cravings.

I went to Dirty Birds on a Wednesday with one of my girlfriends to enjoy some wings since I LOVEWINGS. We were hoping for a Wing Wednesday special but they don’t have anything particular for Wednesdays except for their weekday Happy Hour. We were too early for their Happy Hour specials(half off wings) which started at 3PM. I had high expectations from Unilocal reviews/ratings but food was subpar: — Wings; Tiny little things and the sauces weren’t anything special. Out of the 4 we tried(Dirty Jerk, Agent Orange Wing, Spicy Garlic, Buffalo) Agent Orange was the best and most flavorful. Dirty Jerk was a dry rub and the others were sauces — Mozzarella Sticks; not impressive… tasted average and came with a small amount of marinara The female bartender was attentive, however, she did not seem happy to be at work. I don’t think she smiled once. She was also the only one working while we were there(around noon). They have daily specials so make sure to ask whenever you go. Below are a few of their specials: — Happy Hour Mon — Fri, 3PM — 6PM: Half off all wings, half off pitchers, and $ 1 off cocktails/beer — Happy Hour all day on Tuesdays! Dirty Birds wasn’t terrible, however, I doubt I would return for wings or drinks. It wasn’t an impressionable experience.

My wife and I were on vacation in Mission Beach and took a walk for a mile and a half up to Dirty Bird’s. On Tuesday they have happy hour all day, so I got some Goose Island IPA. Super hoppy and yummy. I ordered the chopped chicken sandwich, topped with whatever sauce you want, I ordered the Diablo. I am a HUGE hot sauce guy and this was a perfect amount of heat. Just hot enough to make the chicken bloom on the perfect roll. I ordered the side salad as my side and it was SPECTACULAR. For about $ 20, I got a great meal and some awesome beer. Loved this place! Our waitress was super nice too and the atmosphere was local/casual. Besides Pizza Port on Ocean Beach, probably my favorite lunch over the two weeks we were in San Diego.

We swung by this spot on a whim, turns out they have some of the best wings in the country AND a $ 12 champagne special on Saturdays. That said, I think we overstayed our welcome after 14 bottles… Overall, really great spot. The service great, we had a blast!

Sorry all Dirty Bird’s lovers! I’m apologizing for this review ahead of time. I personally like Bub’s a lot better just because the wings are a lot plumper and juicier. They’re fatter, whereas Dirty Bird’s wings are smaller. However, Dirty Birds’s wings’ sauces usually have sunk into the meat better, making it tastier. They have their specials on Tuesdays, but It’s also a bit pricier than Bub’s with a long wait to accompany it as well. I think it’s just my personal preference. But don’t take me wrong, Dirty Bird’s is delicious! I just like to get more bang for my buck. Still definitely recommend it.
