Great place to shoot pool, have some drinks. Easy going, laid back vibe and the bartenders are always friendly. I didn’t eat there but the food looked amazing… big portions.

One of my favorite brunch places. Solid menu, and almost never too busy. I usually get the Traditional Chorizo and share a pitcher of mimosa with some friends.

The breakfast is so bomb, hits the spot after a hangover ! Wish there was more than bar alcohol but I’ll survive haha

5 stars for the teriyaki steak sandwich. Seriously it’s one of the best things I’ve ever had.

I went here the other night for a meet up event for young fun professionals. It’s a large place with pool tables. What I found out right away was that it is a beer and wine only spot. So there is no cocktails available. I ordered about 3 pacifico’s on tap. For food, you order at the kitchen window and pay up front. Then they bring your food out to you where ever you are seated. It was Tuesday so we ordered the $ 1.95 carne asada tacos and fries. When they came out to us we could smell the onions on our tacos, so if you don’t want onions make sure to ask them to remove it. The general manager was there greeting folks at the door. Parking on the street. There was only 1 bartender for the evening so when it got busy you had to wait a bit for a drink.

One of the best bars there is for trivia. Great beer selection, pretty good food, shuffleboard, and some kick ass trivia questions that last a while with a multitude of categories! Friends and I try and swing through at least a couple times a month for some trivia. Def a great spot with a great location that’s not right in the heart(read: messy) part of PB.

Cass Street is a local favorite, even my parents and their friends say they use to go here all the time back in the day! I’ve been here for all different sorts of occasions and it’s always been a great time. I use to work down the street and would come here for lunch once in awhile, the food is a step up from your typical bar foods. It is also very reasonably priced! I have come for work functions where we have pool & shuffleboard competitions which is always a blast! I have also come late night with friends and it’s great if you want a fun vibe where you can actually hold a conversation without having to yell over music.

Their food is pretty good(4 stars), but their staff is really hard to deal with. Don’t put $$$ in the jukebox, because they would rather play commercials on 93.1 than play your song. I put $ 5 on the Touchtunes and had to put up with attitude when I asked for my money back because they wouldn’t play my music. But Journey was definitely better than the songs I chose…“Carry on my Wayward Son.“ If their food wasn’t a solid 4, I’d rate this place 2 stars.

Possibly the only 49er bar in PB at the moment! Chill local spot will cold beer on tap and the 49er game on! The food is great with a few unexpected well made gems on the menu(seafood cioppino, gumbo, chicken baguette). And of course the burgers are top notch. #49ers #chargers

Fun relaxed place. Beer and wine only. Good kitchen in the back that features fresh fish. Lots of beers on tap. Chill PB vibe. with the occasional buffed out bro. Pool tables get a lot of attention. People sign up on the chalk boards and there is fun competition at the pool table. Also jukebox and shuffle board table. And autographed photos on the wall of people showing off their epic fish catch of the day.

A cool little spot in PB but not on the main street of Garnett. We weren’t feeling a full meal and was in the area and my BF suggested we come here because they had good Cioppino… Or at least when he remembered it like in his college days. Bar was pretty empty when we arrive. Pretty roomy with some pool tables and shuffle board. Drinks were pretty cheap but ran out of the one I originally wanted, no biggie. Food wise– you order the food at the back window. I ordered he Cioppino and my BF ordered the steak sandwich with fries. The Cioppino was pretty disappointing, it didn’t have much flavors or even salt. In a way it was very light. It did include lots of seafood especially huge chunks of fish. But I really could tell if it was fish or chicken. Lol. It needed some more seasoning! The steak sandwich on the other hand was awesome! This is what you want to get. Big chunks of steak and sautéed onions all seasoned and stuffed into a side of a hollowed out bread loaf. I’ll probably get that next time!

It’s an ok spot. I used to think this place was the shit back in the day, but I guess that was 5 years ago. Well, since then the cioppino lost some flavor! It was very bland and needed some Old Bay or something to pick up some flavor. Damn it was plain. But, I will say that the Teriyaki Steak Sandwich was very very good. It was one of those submarine sandys where the bread was hollowed out and stuffed with steak, mushrooms and a special sauce. Yum. I’ll probably never try the cioppino again though… damn it! Well maybe in 5 years.

I came here years ago, on a friends recommendation, for the oriental salad with fish and thought it was tasty. I was in town so thought I’d swing by to see if the establishment still offered it. They did, hooray! I ordered a pint of ballast point and the salad topped with fresh fish. I didn’t find out the type of fish but it was delish. I sat by the windows in the bar that open out to the street, they make for great people watching. They have a good selection of beers and a happy hour discount. The bartender was really cool and the girl at the food counter(they are separate owners apparently) was sweet. I’ll return next time I’m in town for sure.

One of my favorite PB local establishments! The best part about Cass St Bar and Grill is that it’s off of the crowded main Garnet Ave drag. It’s located on a random block about three streets up from Garnet Ave and three from the beach. It mainly attracts locals that live within the area. Parking is scarce and street only, so if you live within a short distance, it’s best to either walk, catch a cab, or ride your bike over. Bike parking is available out front, and any day or night lines of bikes can be found chained up to the bike rack, trees, and light poles. On Friday and Saturday nights it gets really packed, so it’s usually a first stop before 9pm before the crowd moves in. The bar is fairly small but has a pool table and shuffleboard, as well as a few small TVs. Brunch here is awesome, especially on Sundays. An open balcony with bar stools lines the front wall and is a great place to eat while soaking in the fresh air and people watching. It has just a really great local beach vibe.

Ciopinno! Ciopinno! Ciopinno! Sorry if spelling is wrong but it doesn’t even matter! It’s perfectly spiced, lots of seafood! I literally eat every drop of it, finishing anything that I can’t get with the spoon with my garlic bread! My boyfriend loves the steak sandwiches! He jokes he should buy two because he eats it so fast that he doesn’t get a chance to truly enjoy it! Haha!

Yes it smells of urine while walking south to north approaching the place. Yes, there are pirates that are there sitting at the bar 24⁄7 who drink, then walk outside, smoke, come back in drink, repeat. They are harmless, pay them no mind. If there is a line be patient and if the tip jar is out then be sure(while at least one of the kitchen staff can see you), throw a couple bucks in there with a smile. Why? Because in a few short minutes, you will be in gastronomic heaven. No, it’s not a joke. Order the fish plate with pan fried potatoes and veggies, or if you want to go big with what we’ve dubbed«Crack salad», which is the Asian salad with the fish of the day. Best of the best? Ahi, Mahi, and on occasion, thresher shark. These guys are a seperate operation from the bar. They are fish guys and know what they’re doing. They prepare the freshest fish and chef it up petfectly. You want a great example of So California fish? This is it. Oh yeah, delicious IPA, Pale Ale and other standards on tap. It’s all about the fish here, as the walls of signed photos in this fine establishment will attest to. A joy that must be experienced to be believed. Your welcome.

The food was very disappointing. The cheese 1⁄3 burger looked like it was going to be delicious. But the bun was burnt and killed it for me. Burnt tastes ruins everything. When we ordered the food there was some drunk chick taking the order who kept saying it’s her day off she shouldn’t even be there. It was uncomfortable. Plus the fried potatoes that my cousin ordered were fried in old oil and they were also over cooked with a burnt taste. I don’t recommend the food.

Oh Cass St. I visited here a few times back in my college years. These days we like to go here for a quick game of shuffle board while we wait for our laundry across the street. Multitasking is the name of the game :) Cass st. Bar has a very relaxed atmosphere, they have about 10 beers on tap, pool tables, shuffle board and serve food as well. I don’t think I’ve ever actually eaten here. Very laid back atmosphere away from the main st.(Garnet)

This place is probably a solid 3 stars but I’m adding one for nostalgia. This is a great place in PB to meet up with a couple of friends and keep the night low key(which is almost an oxymoron in PB). As the other Unilocalers have mentioned, it’s a beer and wine only bar. They have pool for a dollar per game and also shuffleboard. They have lots of tvs for you to also watch the games on. During my last visit I noticed they had a kitchen and a substantial menu. I can’t remember seeing the food options before but it might have been that I just came much later in the night. Either way, this is a great bar to swing back some beers, catch up with old friends, and reminisce about the good ol days!

This review is for their breakfast which was pretty good, just not as memorable as I would of hoped. I ordered the Italian sausage and mushroom frittata with a side of breakfast potatoes and toasted English muffin with little packet of Smucker’s preserve( ). The frittata was cooked well and had a good amount of sausage and mushrooms, but the egg portion was a little under seasoned( ). Also, although the shredded cheddar was good, I think a stronger cheese with more character would of helped the frittata: perhaps a feta or provolone. On a side note, the Italian sausage was very good. The breakfast potatoes were alright and mildly seasoned, and except for a few undercooked pieces, they tender for the most part( ). The English muffin was lightly toasted and arrived heavily buttered( ). I would suggest they lightened up on the butter or at the very least, serve it on the side. The ladies who were running the bar were very nice. You order at the counter or window, pay there for food, and then they bring your meal to you. Over all, and A-Okay breakfast and experience.
