To start the place is substandard. My wife and I ordered 3 adobada tacos and a adobada burrito. In my 43 years every time you order adobada in any place they put guacamole in it, not here. Plus they charged me $ 3 for a small 4oz side of guacamole. Order came with meat cilantro and tortilla. The seasoning was plain with no flavor. I will never come back here! If you want good Mexican food this place is not it! Go somewhere else, anywhere but here.

So far one of the best taco shops I have ever been to! No matter what dish i get it always satisfies my appetite! Highly recommend to check it out!

I was ordering my favorite carne asada street tacos when I heard and saw the cook coughing all over the kitchen. I had to cancel my order so I didn’t catch his germs and become sick. It was obvious that he was really really really sick, much sicker than a cold. Such a bummer because their tacos are the best. Please don’t allow your sick employees to work. If I hadn’t noticed what was going on and ate the food he was coughing all over I guarantee I would be in the emergency room in the morning. Some of us with autoimmune diseases can’t be around someone who’s this ill, let alone someone who is coughing all over the kitchen. I feel bad for him because I have a feeling he would get fired if he called in.

I’ve been to this location a few times, every time it seems to become worse. The atmosphere, multiple flies, one of one completely filled trash can and Lukewarm salsa bar. On this visit I ordered a chile relleno burrito and a Diablo shrimp burrito which amounted to almost $ 20. The Chile relleno burrito was somewhat warm and mostly cold, I give it 2⁄5 seems like it came out of the fridge then to the microwave. The Diablo shrimp which the restaurant advertises as «home of the shrimp burrito» was equally terrible. It only had 7 shrimps and wasn’t spicy at all. The rice tastes like it was made the night before. As for the service, not even as much as a smile. This will be my last visit to the restaurant and possibly this chain. AVOIDATALLCOST! If you want Mexican food that is worth your money go to Lolita’s.

I cannot believe this place is owned by the same people as santee cotitas. This food in I.B. was tastless and bland and not at all like santee. Santee cotitas is the very best around. From now on I will read Unilocal before eating any mexican.

I always order Carne asada fries, adobada fries and pollo asado fries and it beats every other place I’ve gone to. California surfin burrito is a must have there.

This place sucks. I came here at 10pm and decided to dine in. This location closes at 11pm so I figured an hour would be a reasonable amount of time to eat. I ordered my meal and had it out to me pretty quick. I thought«Either this was cooked ahead of time, or this is gonna suck.» Anyways… My fries were crunchy and I paid with a card. $ 5.00 minimum to use a card. I ordered a drink and had it full of ice, then I wanted a refill and they wanted to charge me .70 cents. Charging me to refill a drink? Pssh… Now I can’t finish the rest of my crunchy disgusting fries cuz my cup is empty. I also witnessed an individual come in, glance up at the menu, and then leave after not being serviced or addressed. Not sure if the cook is in the back of the restaurant boning the lady who took my order. Shame on this place and the customer service sucks!!!

Best Authentic Mexican food in Imperial Beach. Carne asada chips, Carne Asada burrito and cali burrito are all my favorites. The Salsa is always fresh over all a great Taco Shop.

I always come here in replacement for Lolita’s. I love the food here. I am a very very picky eater and when it comes to the meat, if it has fat chunks I just spit them right out. This place does not use fatty carne asada. I have tried many other taco shops and I can rely on this place to always prepare a delicious carne asada burrito, carne asada chips/fries, sopè, you name it. The only thing I noticed is that the guacamole the put on the food is «watered down» if you will. Other than that great place to go to.

California Surfing Burrito… FTW !! This is what I always order. No other taco shops in the area make anything comparable.

Ok food. I tried the carne asada chips. It was not bad but was not great. Their was not to much meat on it. The sour cream was a runny. The different salsas were good. Overall after one visit here, it was ok. The staff is friendly and place is pretty clean.

This is my favorite Mexican food place, I think this place is 3 times better than Armando’s Mexican food, the women at the register, is very nice, the food is great and their restaurant is always clean and fresh :-) :-)

CHECKTHEFACTSPEOPLE!!! THELASTREVIEWWASWRITTEN… A YEAR before mine.(I give it NOSTARS!) Their food used to be good… key take away«USEDTOBE» … NOWIT’S JUSTLOUSY… Do not go here. Seems like their maybe going out of business(or they should) or new people running the shop… the quality has dropped and price has gone up. NOMOREGREENSALSA… I ordered a Carne Asada burrito with rice… The meat was old and the rice was too… leaving something to be desired… I wish I would have driven 5 mins further away to get better quality food. This place is just embarrassing… step your game up. Won’t be returning or anyone I know. There are vast amounts of other taco shops in the area, definitely skip this place… not up to par with other Cotija’s chains in SD P.s. Make em famous! For failing

Cotijas, Cotijas, what am I going to do with you? Their shrimp burritos are so delicious, but they are so wet and soupy making it hard to eat. I always have to nest the burrito on top of a bed of paper towels and napkins in order to soak up all the sauce. You pretty much have to eat the burrito right away because otherwise, it gets gross and soggy. The shrimp tacos are also very delicious. A pretty good alternative if you don’t want to deal with the sauce/soggy burrito issue. Their Diablo Shrimp Burrito is good, as well, but a little too spicy for me.

Cotijas is more than a taco shop… its a way of life ey! The name is synonymous with tasty, greasy well prepared food at a reasonable price. Cotijas is always on my top 3 places to chow down when visiting mom down in San Diego. They rock the 3 – 5 rolled tacos with guacamole all the way to the carne asada nacho platters. They are all over the south bay so you are bound to see one. Its highly recommended and always worth breaking a diet over. Naturally…its open 24hrs a day. ;-)

This place is a cool taco shop. I usually come here and to order for my son while I have some PHO next door. But the last time I was here I did pick up some rolled tacos, rice and an Horchata for myself. They were good, nothing amazing but just good. It sucks to say but a lot of Taco shop’s seem to serve really bland tasteless beans and rice. Some places even mess up rolled tacos! This place does not, they are actually pretty good.

all cotijas do not taste the same, but this is one of the good ones :) friendly and fast service is great. There’s also free chips you can get when you eat there and you pick a salsa from the salsa bar. the only thing that sucks is that there’s no free refills :( This cotijas is located in a shopping plaza next to other little shops, so although a little far, there will always be plenty of parking spaces.

If you’re craving carne asada fries, and you see a Cotija’s… BESURETOSAY«hold the salsa and beans please!»(unless you’re okay with that) For some reason, this is the only Mexican Fast Food Restaurant chain that adds those extras to their carne asada fries. The usual ingredients are: carne asada, cheese, sour cream, fries(duh), and guacamole :) Anywho, I really like their cheese, so this place gets 4 stars :) It’s clean too!

For some reason, I was expecting something more when I tried out their Shrimp Burrito. I found the flavors very lacking in taste. Don’t get me wrong because what I got for almost $ 6 was very filling(size wise) but I’ve eaten at other Taco Shops that had a little more zesty flavorings in their Shrimp Burritos and the one I had was a little bland for my taste. I will give them«HIGH» marks for the speedy service, but the reality of it all is, it was a stop and go routine for me… I was on a quick Lunch Break. Overall, a very Big Shrimp Burrito with a mediocre taste! 3 Stars…
