I think it’s closed! I stopped by today after work for something to go and they had a bunch of moving trucks outside and the door to the To Go area had a sign saying it was closed and thanking everyone for their patronage. wonder what happened, seems somewhat sudden!

Chili’s in 4S has OK food and the atmosphere is pretty chill, although the service could improve a bit. Seriously though, they need more vegan options! Their black bean burger is unfortunately not vegan as it contains dairy and eggs. You can replace it with portobella mushrooms. The burger lacks flavor although you can add fried jalapenos at $.50. Without the jalapenos it tastes very bland. The portion size is humongous here though. And the customizable Old Timer is pretty cheap, at $ 6.

Still spotty service during off peak periods. Too bad, because the food was decent for a Chili’s. A wait for a table for 10 minutes at 2PM with 2 people in the restaurant and none in the bar is unacceptable. Can we please get some new restaurants in 4S already? Why is everyone letting Chili’s and Zocalo monopolize the area? This still ranks a shaky 3. Get your staffing levels back up to par! SD Co Food Inspection Says: A — 95(trending in the mid«A» range). I’ve never had the Chili’s here and I don’t think I’ll have it again. My husband ordered it with a salad and it was ok, nothing too spectacular. It was nice that it wasn’t very crowded or loud and the service was great. We ordered the kids meals first and that came out pretty quickly. My 7 yo thought her cheeseburger at Chili’s was better than at Islands. I don’t know about that! I ordered the Spicy Garlic and Lime Shrimp salad and I have to say, I was impressed. It was pretty good! I didn’t even need the dressing. I also ordered a cup of the enchilada soup that was tasty. For a family of 5, the price was reasonable, I’d go back again.

Alright, I’ll keep this one short. You’ve all been to Chilis so you know what this place has for ya. But I think it’s only fair that I explain myself for handing out a 4 star grade. Plain and simple, it’s the 2 for $ 20 special. If you’ve been living under a rock, here’s the deal: 1 shared appetizer, 2 full size entrees, and a shared dessert. $ 20. Big deal right? It’s still Chili’s. Yea, that’s pretty much what I thought too, but you gotta consider the benefits of collateral damage in this case. $ 20 tab=Shitty Tip Shitty Tip=Less Service Less service at Chilis is actually a GOOD thing though. You dont have to put up with the old obnoxiousness of their wait staff… you know the shit that inspired the old«I want my babyback babyback babyback… » You’re left with down to earth motherfuckers actually working their ass off to impress so they get whatever tip they can out of ya. Bottom Line: If you dont feel like cooking, it’s not a bad option at all…

I’ve been eating at the Chili’s chain for years now. Usually, when I’m traveling, it’s a safe bet. I would have thought of this 4S branch as a 2 star but that’s supposed to stand for«I’ve had better» but this experience here was definitely one that will keep me from ever going back at «Eek, Methinks not.» Decided to go here when we had company. Not because it’s a special occasion but because it’s one of those kinds of restaurants that have something for everyone. Nothing spectacular but will do. I think everyone ordered something different but all of the food was exceptionally salty. WAY more than what I’ve experienced at other Chili’s or any other restaurant for that matter. I just had a burger and downed three of those large ice teas during that visit and I felt parched even after I got home. I didn’t think of it much while I was there but one friend got one of the pasta/shrimp dishes and actually couldn’t stand it and had to send it back and order something else –because of the salt. I think what it was, was that this already salty recipes were topped off with that seasoned salt as a garnish of sorts(paprika in it or something) with the cooks not thinking of it as salt so you have this slathering of salt over everything that’s already on the high salt side. The ultimate confirmation of this was that my toddler that *loves* fries took one bite of his and didn’t touch another. I’m loathe to complain about things but I probably should have sent mine back as well. In the end, it would probably have helped them getting that kind of feedback and, with improvement, could have got me back through the doors in time. It’s a shame. It’s not a bad restaurant chain but I don’t need one weeks worth of salt in one sitting.

Not much happening… Fairly empty on Father’s Day. Drinks came out long after we ordered them. Quiet atmosphere. Server seemed very confused and scared of us. Positives include: No waiting. Lots of parking. Brand new location, so everything is still clean. Cheaper menu prices.

Now, I have never been super thrilled with Chilis or thought it was that great but the food is usually decent and it’s not expensive. For some reason this Chilis seems so weird. The food is the same as at every other Chilis but for some reason I got really weirded out when I was there. My brother and I went to happy hour there one day. We each got a drink and about 10 minutes later he and I felt so awkward that we left. I don’t know what is about this place but I don’t think I will be going back to this particular one.

This is not your average Chili’s, This place is over in the boonies in between rancho Bernardo and Del mar(known as the 4s ranch) I have been here many times since a friend and my parents live bye here and there’s not many restaurant’s around here . PROS — Most of the food is pretty good here 3 – 4 star — Workers are cool — Bartenders make strong drinks Cons — Menu selection sucks(maybe 20 – 30 food entries on the menu) — Alot of rich or wannabes in here . Every time i go i see the same people in here, regular hang out place i guess, i also almost seen a few fights break out here(i thought it was a family restaurant). I fell in love with with the hot hostess, maybe that’s what keeps me going back.

I have never been to a Chili’s, and hope to continue the tradition after last weekend. This place became the chosen location for a late Sunday morning food excursion for a few of us before the Super Bowl, due to its close proximity to a friend’s house in a San Diego suburb that is not even on a map yet. So two girls and three guys walk into a restaurant, and one of my idiot friends must have told the little girl who was the hostess that I’ve never been to a Chili’s before, because as I walked by her, she exclaimed«Are you the one who’s never been to a Chili’s?» and I’m thinking, hella yeah, I am the sensible and sane one in this group. The place is almost brand new, being a new community and a «shopping center» thingy that is still being built all around it. So it is nice and clean inside. First stop — bathroom — to wash all the gasoline off(this is a completely unrelated story and too involved and boring to those that did not participate). Bathroom sinks have one of those push-down faucets that run for a few seconds and then shut off. I hate them — they are completely unsanitary and for children in third grade. The barely-hot water running out of this faucet is so close to the sink’s wall that I cannot wash or rinse my hands without rubbing against said sink wall. Unsanitary and damn gross. Paper towers are in a dispenser that allows you only one paper tower per«pull» — with instructions on how to «grab and pull gently.» But both of the dispensers have their towers hidden, so I am forced to spin a little wheel in order for the first towel to emerge. Fuck. Saving grace is that there is a garbage can right next to the door, so I do not have to struggle in finding where to throw the paper towels with which I touch the handle. Food experience — our waitress was super pleasant and caring — Sam(antha?). After an internal debate, I had a bacon and blue cheese burger and fries and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. Soup was okay, but the actual burger patty(med well) was super greasy, and with shredded, out-of-the-plastic-bag lettuce. I didn’t think I ordered a 99-cent Big Mac at McDonald’s, but maybe I did. Anyway, we had a fun time, Sam was cool, and everyone else who worked there seemed to be attentive(but that will probably change once the new-ness wears off and they all become jaded). On the way out, the hostess girl asked me if I enjoyed my first Chili’s «experience.» I told her, very briefly and to the point, about the greasy-ass burger and the shredded lettuce, and how a probably cheaper, actual lettuce leaf would class the place up a bit. She seemed rather offended and shocked, and said I should have just said that I enjoyed it just fine. She did not seem to be making a joke. But maybe it is just that I do not get Suburban San Diego attempts at humour. And the day did not get any better after the gas and food thing cause the Super Bowl blew.
