Love eating here. The atmosphere is generally friendly. Food is authentic Mexican. Prices reasonable. Planes flying in and out are pleasant to watch.

5 stars for the white sauce enchiladas! That’s all I’ve ever had here so I can’t write much about anything else lol. Overall 4 stars. Service at lunch time is quick, which is perfect for 1 hour lunches. The food comes out SUPER hot, which is good(no one likes cold food), but you have to wait some time to take your first bite or you’ll give yourself 3rd degree burns in your mouth! The chairs are not super comfortable, but like I said service is quick so you’re not there for long. Personally I’ve had no issues with staff and they’ve been friendly. Plenty of parking too. If you’re in the area check it out :)

Came for a party on the outdoor patio. The staff gets 5 stars for handling a large party with ease. My husband ordered a combo with 2 chicken enchiladas and liked it. I ordered a bowl of chicken vegetable soup. The flavor of the soup was great but I didn’t care for all of the stuff in it meaning parts other than chicken meat including a small bone. I know many people prefer this ‘all in ’ type of soup but I was a little grossed out. Another thing I didn’t like was the instruction inside the toilet stall in the restroom that read: please don’t put paper in the toilet. Use the waste can. Well maybe I’m a priss but again… eww.

3.5 stars Solid Mexican food and service in a unique location. It’s located off a main roadway at Montgomery Air Field so you kind of have to know about it to find it. It’s close to where I work so I eat here a couple of times a month. I’d say the food is on par or better then most typical Mexican restaurants. The complimentary chips/salsa and pickled carrots are great. They have daily specials that are pretty good with my fav being carnitas tacos on Wednesday. If you wan’t something relatively light, I recommend the Ensalada De Fajitas(Marinated strips of chicken breast served on a bed of lettuce on a tortilla shell). It’s a large portion and the marinate on the chicken is so tasty.

I can honestly say I would not have ended up here on my own since I had no clue it was there. A woman that I work with has been coming here for years and constantly tells me how awesome the food is! I drive past this small airport multiple times a day and never knew this fantastic restaurant was just off the runway! She didn’t lie! Best torta I’ve ever had! There was a booth open by the window and I was excited to see the planes taking off. There were so many old and new planes to look at. The service was excellent! They were on top of everything and lunch was delivered to the table right away. The torta, OMG! So juicy and delicious. The combination of flavors with the carne asada is perfect. Each bite you can taste everything on the sandwich and the freshness shines! The fries that came on the side weren’t the best but I definitely didn’t go the the Mexican restaurant for fries. The huge basket of chips and salsa they give you in the beginning, perfect! Crisp and kind of fluffy at the same time! Love everything about this place!

Casa Machado is a place that I hadn’t been to in several years and after my last visit I’m in no real hurry to return to it again. Though the setting is cool overlooking Montgomery Field, the food is nothing special and the service is average at best. Our server/bartender was a guy named Caesar who gave us the cold shoulder from the start. The room eventually filled with regulars and our lack of attention quickly became much more apparent when we saw him chumming it up with other guests. Oh well, can’t win them all. Bring on the grub… Like most places Casa Machado serves up some complimentary chips and salsa and pickled carrots — really delicious and refilled upon request. I decided to split the El Comal with my friend Joanna, which was the best bargain. If you get the order for one it will run you about $ 18.00 — $ 19.00, but for $ 6.00 they’ll give you a plate big enough to share. Composed of grilled chicken, shrimp and steak it’s almost like a protein heavy fajita plate. There are a few grilled peppers and onions but definitely more meat than veggies. The steak proved to be the winner of the three as the chicken was dry and the shrimp were tiny and there were only about six of them. The softened avocado in the middle was a really nice touch but as a whole the dish was nothing to write home about. All in all, not half bad. Not half good either.
