The portion of meat is so small you think you were eating vegetarian meal. I ordered bulgogi and I think there were 6 tiny slices of meat hidden in the plate! Overprice for that portion!

The new management is great! The lady who helped me at the front was SUPER nice and friendly. I got the Philly and I am happy I did! It is delicious! Next I am going to try the teriyaki chicken bowl! The food is great, but it was the lady at the front that made my experience worth writing a review about :) Thank you!

Disappointed. Food was bland, and lacked flavor and spice. Not sure when the management changed, but most of the previous reviews may have been prior to the change. Bulgogi House is located in the Sorrento Valley food court off of Scranton Rd. The food court gets pretty busy during week day lunch time as you can get a variety of food that’s close many businesses, particularly Qualcomm. I came here for lunch with a few of my co-workers and most of us opted to try Bulgogi House since Korean food sounded good and though we’ve seen this place many times, we’ve usually passed it by. I ordered the Chicken Plate. It’s served with rice(brown or white), a salad, and a side of onions(which is different). Others ordered the teriyaki chicken plate, and beef bulgogi plate. The chicken is served in cut strips with a spicy sauce. Parts of the chicken had the spicy sauce. The chicken itself wasn’t seasoned as the parts without sauce had no flavor. The sauce seemed to have been added right before serving as none of the flavors were marinated into the chicken. The sauce was ok at best. My co-workers indicated their orders didn’t taste good either and couldn’t finish eating. The lady taking orders was very friendly and nice though. She seemed very happy while she took our orders. She offered one customer taking several of the free apples a bag so he could take more. I’m not sure if it was an off day when we came, but we’ll likely not come back to eat here.

First time here got the chicken bowl! The young lady up front was awesome and explained to me everything to give me option. Next time I am going with their ordered favorite… Bibimbap which means«all mixed in» thanks to her! The chicken bowl was pretty good! And I they gave me a free apple :)

This is my favorite place for lunch. The food is healthy and delicious. I’ll likely be back tomorrow and the day after and so forth next week as well. The fifth star is for the fast, friendly service.

For fast Korean this is as good as it gets and a welcome spot for that food court. Bibimbap is awesome and pretty healthy and comes with a great little portion of soup. The very nice woman at the counter has to be the owner or related, the service is great.

Wow this place is amazing. We went for the first time and had the chicken wrap and bibimbap and beef/daikon soup. They give good portions and there is so much flavor in the food. Not to mention the lady who works there(maybe the owner?) is extremely nice.

I walked over to the shopping center with my coworker at lunch today in search of a simple rice bowl from Flame Broiler. Unfortunately, their line was out the door, so I opted to walk to the indoor food vendor area. The lady at the counter started talking to me as I walked by, and not wanting to be rude, I stopped to look at the options. I liked that there were samples of select meals on the counter. Since I couldn’t understand the lady very well as it was very noisy, it was nice to be able to point out what I wanted. She kept talking to me, so I didn’t really have a good chance to look at the menu thoroughly. I ordered and stepped aside to wait for my number to be called. It took about 10 minutes for my food to come out, so while it was nice to know that my food was fresh, I was a little antsy to get going back to work as it’s a 20 minute walk. I will definitely come back if I have more time and/or if I drive over to this area. When I got back, I was ready to eat. The cooks packaged my salad with the main meal, but it was also in a paper basket, so it was very easy to transfer to a separate plate. The soup was packaged in a small plastic container, and it didn’t leak. Sweet and Spicy Chicken Skewer Plate with Salad and Spicy Soup. I started off with the soup as it looked really delicious and very similar to the Korean tofu soup. It was nicely spicy and had great flavor. Unfortunately, it’s seafood based, so I had a mild heart attack when a shrimp surfaced from below and looked at me with its beady dead eyes. There were also chunks of squid and clam(?) throughout the soup, so it would definitely be enjoyed by someone who likes that type of seafood(not me). Other than the seafood, I really enjoyed this soup. The salad was pretty standard and slightly warm since I waited so long to eat it. There’s a mix of tomatoes, onions, and olives with the lettuce and comes with a great sesame ginger dressing. The lady has a list of various dressings you can choose, but I was definitely happy with my choice. It was a little on the sweet side, but definitely had that great sesame flavor to complement the rest of the meal. The chicken skewers were resting on a bed of rice and had an optional sauce(teriyaki? soy?) to pour over. I didn’t think these were too spicy, but the chicken was cooked through and flavorful enough. Overall I enjoyed my first meal from Bulgogi House and will definitely go back if I have more time. The portion was generous, so I have leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch. It’s a little pricey, but the food was good enough to go back.

I love their chicken wrap and beef bulgogi plate. they are fairly quick getting your order ready and reasonably priced. There seems to be only two people working there but they are very friendly.

Maybe I was there on an off day. but the bulgogi was horrible. I love bulgogi. I have eaten it in at least 15 restaurants. I have had some great and some not great. This was inedible. So inedible that I didn’t eat it.

I reaaaallly like this place!!! I went to San Diego this spring, and Bulgogi House was a true surprise for me. The bulgogi beef is cooked very well. It’s not too sweet nor too salty, just THE right taste. Have never found a Korean restaurant better than this one! And you can get real homemade Korean kimchi too. Owners are very friendly and the place is cozy. I recommended this place to my San Diegan friends, and they enjoyed it too.

Not sure why this restaurant is called«Bulgogi House» when they only serve a couple of dishes with bulgogi. Anyways, this place is located right inside the food court where it appears that it is owned by an older asian couple(family owned, I presume). What I Had: Bulgogi Plate The Good: Food was all fresh, nothing seemed like it was sitting on the shelf too long Food is made to order Have Sriracha and Tapatio on hand for you to use with your meal White rice was decent and not overly mushy or undercooked Price was fine for the amount you get The Bad: The meat was palatable but suffered from being rubbery(not fresh or cooked correctly) Odd plate combination — to include both rice and glass noodles together Glass noodles came out a bit mushy Hardly the taste of Korean food — plate was missing key ingredients to really help it out. Salad was haphazardly thrown together and not creative by any means. Due to using iceberg lettuce it just made everything watery Come here if you are aching for some pseudo beef that resembles bulgogi. Hard to recommend coming here but given the area there are many options around. For approximately 8 dollars for the plate you are better off going to Flame Broiler next door for a cheaper lunch and getting more for your dollar.

My favorite place to frequent for Korean food. Reasons for the rating: — The best deal for a chicken bowl at the food court(honestly way better than the bowls at the Flame Broiler). Very affordable price for ample amount and balance of rice, veggies, and teriyaki chicken. Already has enough flavoring in the chicken itself, but the combination of their special teriyaki sauce(add-in) and their assortment of spicy sauces with the chicken bowl is amazing. They also have other types of bowls that are a definite must-try(spicy chicken, spicy pork, bulgogi). — Plates. I come here for their signature dish, bulgogi beef plate. The meat is cut into portions that are very easy to eat, and their seasoning is perfect(not too sweet, but if you prefer the sweetness, they give you an extra small cup of teriyaki sauce). My favorite chicken plate is the Korean Sweet and Spicy chicken skewers. Each kabob plate comes with two filling chicken skewers, rice, and salad(oh, and I always get the sesame ginger dressing… so good!). And did I mention bonus homemade kimchi as a side? If you ask them nicely, you may be rewarded :) — Their wraps are also a plus. I recommend the bulgogi beef wrap, but the various chicken wraps are also fulfilling. Huge amount for a great price. Their french fries(you can choose either fries or salad, but I usually go for plate with salad, wraps with fries) have a crispy outer texture, which is distinguishable from the typical french fries you buy at fast food places. However, expect to wait a bit(about 5 min) for your french fries to be ready. — Although they don’t serve dolsot bibimbab(served in a stone pot) here, a regular bibimbab is very convenient, especially if you need to take it to-go. I love the arrangement of various vegetables, and you get to choose egg, tofu, or type of meat. You mix everything(including the rice) along with their gochujang(spicy red pepper paste) sauce. — On chilly days, I like getting the bulgogi beef plate with the spicy tofu soup(soon tofu) as a side. — Other perks are their chicken/beef/vegetarian chow mein(I like how they use spaghetti noodles! they taste more filling than the regular chow mein noodles). The other type of noodles they have is japchae(sweet potato noodles with meat and vegetables) as a side with the bulgogi beef plate. — I really like how they cook right at the spot(as soon as the order is placed). It’s definitely worth the wait time(typically less than 5 min when it’s not busy hours). The lady at the cash register is really nice! If you’re up for some homemade food and a friendly environment/great service, Bulgogi(they spell it as «Boolgogi») House is the way to go!

Definitely a nice surprise. It’s Korean food if you are trying to guess. The name and signs are not clear. Chicken bowl, pork plate, chicken plate come with rice and vegetables. Great taste. Really good food, value. Made to order.

So this place opened up recently in the Scranton Plaza with the Jamba Juice and McDonalds. It’s inside the food court area just in case you don’t see any signs from the parking lot. I really do love their lunch deals in that you get an entrée(wrap, plate, combo etc.), a side of salad with your choice of dressing(I got the sesame ginger), and a choice of either a soft drink or Miso soup(I chose the Miso soup) for ~$ 8. That’s a pretty sweet deal if I do say so myself. I ended up splitting the BULGOGIWRAP and BBQCHICKENWRAP with my BF. The Bulgogi wrap was pretty good. Had good flavor without being overly sweet on the marinade and was interesting as there was rice in the wrap. I liked it. However the BBQ chicken wasn’t what I was expecting. Since this is a Korean joint, I thought their BBQ chicken would be similar to Korean BBQ chicken which is usually breaded, deep-fried and spicy. This BBQ chicken was just chicken breast, which was a bit on the dry side, and they give you a sauce cup of straight barbeque sauce. Just for that, I knocked this place a star or two. In the end, I thought this place was pretty good but not great. MISOSOUP was actually pretty dang good so skip the soft drink. :]

I love this place. It’s close to my office, the BBQ chicken and Bulgogi wraps are awesome, and I can get excellent fries. What more could I ask for? It’s nice that the wraps are stuffed full of fresh vegetables, and everything is cooked to order. Going out to lunch isn’t something that I do normally, but when I do, I usually walk down here.

I did not plan on going here the day I did, I wanted noodles. Sadly, it was the hour of darkness, when any restaurants that would normally serve noodles are closed. Alas, there would be no noodles for this Unilocaler on his hasty late lunch run. Fortunately, darkness did not prevail. As I stood mortified at the choices I had, the friendly cashier at this location assured me that although they didn’t have noodles, there were several great options available here. I chose the Bulgogi wrap. I came back again a week later. I am hooked on these things. Bulgogi wrapped in spinach in a tortilla-like wrap thingy, with a heavenly sauce and side salad(or fries). Even though it seems light with the salad — I received a healthy serving and wasn’t hungry again for a long time. Try that with your buck elsewhere, true believers. I am now a confirmed, unashamed, bulgogi wrap addict.

Of many gifts that the Korea has given the world: the Samsung Galaxy S3, KPop and Korean Drama… my favorite is the FOOD! I love Korean food and I really enjoyed eating one of the signature dishes at the Bulgogi House. Unassuming and modest, you might up pass the Bulgogi House if you were in a rush or weren’t careful. You first notice the kind, older lady behind the counter as she greets you right as you open the door and as you enter into the food court. Instead of getting Indian food as I planned on this day, I decided to take a chance on this place because she was so nice.(See, restaurants, customer service pays off!) Keep in mind this is a food counter, not a full fledged restaurant. My expectations are different here. OK… The food took a while. I assume it was made to order. It tasted great! The BBQ was tasty and had nice texture. More impressive was the salad! Now, I am a carnivore. My friends try to get me to go vegetarian(silly friends). Who knew that the salad would be so yummy! Judges…the scores please. Food…A Service…with a smile! A+ Parking…Crowded bit at lunchtime… B Final score… A– ! Good job Bulgogi! Well there you have it! A very decent experience! My first and accidental trip to Bulgogi was impressive! I must say I would return.

Affordable, Clean, Healthy and good portions. Somewhat of Asian fusion, wraps, bowls, kabobs. I’ll be back. Inside the Scranton foodcourt. Newer place, menu is a little scattered, but I’m sure they’ll get the hang of it. Menu has mix of Asian bowls, Sandwich wraps, veggie and non-veg burgers The hanging sign from the prior restuarant is still there(old place was Moose’s BBQ) I ordered the Bibimbob(steamed veggies, rice, chicken, with sauce)
