Hey people — this Unilocal listing is for the FOODTRUCK, which closed over a year ago. If you wanna write a review of the Bare Back Gill restaurant, you are at the wrong place!

This review is long overdue. Came here for Sunday brunch several months ago. Wasn’t expecting much for a brunch at a bar, but their buffet was surprisingly delicious. The fried chicken was homemade – according to the really nice omelet maker guy – and it was good, really f-ing good. Aside from the unique and tasty variety from your usual brunch foods, they had beat the clock mimosas. The service here is always laid back and nice. Definitely a fan.

What a great, casual beach bar! The burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches are surprisingly good. The specials and drink specials often pack the place on weekends. This place attracts a mixed crowd midweek and a younger bunch on weekends. The service has always been attentive and great.

I am a big fan of a good old fashioned burger… the bigger the better, if you are looking for good, tasty burgers then bareback grill is the place to check out. being a big rugby fan… I also like all the New Zealand Rugby memorabilia, not your normal sports bar, same olé décor. Also, if you are looking for something fun, go for a spin on the drink wheel, pay $ 5 and they spin a wheel, and were it stops, that is the drink you get… bring a fun group and enjoy

Had the Lunch Box special with burger, side, and choice of beer or soda. It was pretty tasty. Had the Queenstown Fave and my friend had the Little Bitties.

Came here with some friends on a pub crawl. I think we stayed here longer than any of the other bars. I really liked the atmosphere inside and the drinks were reasonable. $ 4 wells isn’t too bad. They have ample seating and two shuffle board tables which I have found I really enjoy playing on. The bar tender was nice enough. We ended up ordering a sample platter which did not last very long. It had a couple of spicy chicken strips, some onion rings, chicken on a stick covered in some tasty sauce, and some kind of dip. The dip looked pretty disgusting but tasted really good. If you order the platter ask them for extra chips since the few they give you will not be enough for the dip. Overall a really good bar. Oh and they have a giant«jenga» set up in the front of the bar which i’m not actually sure if you can play…

All I remember doing here was using the restroom, taking a shot(surfer on acid), and having a smoke. My friends and I stopped in here during our bar-hopping-club-hopping-walking all around downtown in my stilettos. THANKSGUYS. But I got a good impression. It was a nice sit-down place to have some cheap drinks and some drunk munchies. They have an outdoor area(for smoking) and also good for people-watching downtown. Got to the club too early? No babes? Babes are too sober? Head over to bareback and have a few. It’s a good time! I think…

It is difficult to find a good veggie burger with taste and substance! Bareback seemed to have found the solution! The veggie burger was absolutely amazing! The cheese and sugar on the french fries was a great twist. Too loud for me, but this is also a bar and clearly should be expected. I think that the fries should come with the burger instead of as an appetizer before. I have met the owner and he is a very laid back decent guy, which encourages me to support his business even more! I can’t wait to have that burger again!

We get all kinds of food trucks outside our work during the week. None are ever as popular as the mighty Bareback Kiwi Coach. The most sinfully delicious fries, paired with two perfectly sized sliders make for easily one of the most looked-forward to lunches I could ever imagine coming out of a mobile establishment. Always great cold drinks and desserts, good prices, and happy friendly staff that try to get everyone fed in a reasonable time. I only with the Kiwi Coach were parked outside my apartment. Every Day. All day.

My husband and I are huge fans of the original Bareback Grill in PB, so we were delighted to hear that the Kiwi Coach would be right outside our office during lunch. My coworker knowing, how much we love Bareback, scored us a buy one get one free coupon so my husband and I each got a Hogs n Heifers with their awesome fries for under $ 9 after tax. Like a previous review, the burger is much like a big slider(3.5 oz of meat) so you may need two to fill you up. They do offer a special for $ 9.90 where you can buy two burgers with a side of fries so still a good deal if you don’t have a coupon. With our meal today we also received coupons for $ 1 drink and free burger at their restaurants. This was definitely a nice change from having to go to a food court or our cafeteria for lunch. I’m so glad that they’ll be around our office every week! You can follow them on twitter for more details on where they’ll be every day. It looks like they also tweet some deals as well.

Have been twitter-stalking these guys and found that they were by my work today, so I grabbed some Bareback Grill loving coworkers, piled into the car and set out to find them. They weren’t very specific about their location«behind Friars-mission Center off Friars rd». so we ended up driving all around trying to find them. Finally tracked them down hidden off a little street that extends from that Ralphs/Mission Center Plaza next to some business buildings. Got the Jus-Chillin, turkey chili bowl — this was freaking awesome. Love the corn, they should serve it with more tortilla chips to begin with! It only came with 2, but they gladly gave me more on the side upon my request, so kudos to that! Also got free rice krispy treat for following them on twitter. Prices are pretty good, although you might need 2 burgers to fill you up, in which case they have a «get 2 burgers + fries for $ 9» deal. Turkey chili was plenty filling on its own and just cost me $ 5! Will be back soon :)

This is the one downtown right? I might be writing a review for the wrong place. In case I am, this is supposed to be for Bareback Grill downtown on E street between 6th and 7th. Anyways… I love this little place. I go there and get a bucket of red stripes and nosh on their super good chicken sandwiches and fries with dipping sauces. Basically they got lots of super good grub and they have really nice servers and bartenders. Btw, the food is all organic. That’s cool. It’s just a really chill spot with a lot of personality. They also have random toys to play with like a life size Jenga set and little Jenga sets at the tables with funny crap written on the blocks by other patrons. The place is all decked out with a homage to New Zealand and the bathrooms are really cool. I don’t know why but they just are. Also a great joint to watch Rugby games or Soccer. Just went there today to watch the England v USA World Cup game! It was quite the crowd! USA! USA! USA! Tons o’ fun! I live close by and I will definitely be back time and time again!

My boyfriend and a few friends were at Kate Sessions Park on Memorial Day weekend. Being guys they weren’t very prepared. They packed a table, a few chairs, dominos and beer. No food. No grill. Parking was an issue but later on people started leaving and a parking spot in front of us opened up. We sent our friend, Jeff, to get the car and park it there! When he returned he came back with a bucket of onion rings! «WTF? Where did you get that?» He pointed at the Food truck semi hidden in the back of the park, while we all dug into his onion rings. Heck yeah! Since I had just gotten my wisdom teeth pulled 2 days prior I couldn’t chew much so decided to just have some french fries. They were delicious and came with a wasabi mayo dip! They were seasoned to perfection and our group enjoyed them! I decided to add them on Facebook. This morning I was surprised to get a Birthday message a gift from them! Score! I’ll have to hunt them down once again!
