hey. not so bad for a $ 3.80 burrito or a $ 4.50 super burrito. Its cal mex with ok… products. I would have been a bit pissed had it seemed frozen. Not a bad spot for a quick belly full. Hint. get your coffee elsewhere, bring it. show up at 9:00am and get your breakfast burrito… suggest they really cook the tortilla… otherwise it comes up a bit dry.

Discovered this little shop on my drive going back home from PB. Decided to give it a try and overall, I’m pleased so far. First impression, It was hot as **** in here(San Diego heat last week was unbearable), I guess maybe their AC broke, I couldn’t imagine how the workers were even working with the heat! But they managed and still gave me great customer service. I ordered Carne Asada chips and loved how they sectioned the guacamole and sour cream along with chips, cheese, and meat covered in another section. Usually and most shops, just smothers everything on top of the chips. I personally enjoyed it this way. The meal was yummy and I will be returning next time to try more of their deliciousness!

This place seems to have changed ownership, as the Alberto’s signage is gone. It appears to be called Palomino’s now. First thing I noticed: more people! Also, The food quality is much better, much less greasy. This place is usually packed in the afternoon; Clairemont High School kids stuffing their faces with carne asada fries and rolled tacos must mean improvement, right?

BEAWARE of this place. I took my 8 year daughter there for dinner after a trip to Toys R Us. The manager asked to look at the toys r us booklet, which was fine. we started talking about how kids are growing up so fast and how they dress. she looks straight at my daughter and says.“You don’t want to be a HOOCH Y MAMA and let boys touch you in your PRIVATEPARTS”. I was try to tell her to stop, giving her the signal with my hand, the«Cut off sign» that my daughter doesn’t know about that stuff. She continued on. I was in shock!!! When we got in the car my daughter was so upset and confused as to what the women had said to her. she then started to say how she says a lot of things to the High School kids that come in. WHATISSHESAYINGTOTHEM, IFSHESAYSTHATTOAN8YEAROLD. ITSCARESME! BEAWARE! ONESTARINTWOMANY!

Waited 45 minutes to get our food, granted there was a big order ahead of us. I think it was ridiculous that we had to wait so long, and the quality of the food wasn’t anything to brag about. Never going here EVER again. Roberto’s down the street is sooo much better and faster!

It’s like I came on leftover day. The most disgusting Mexican food I’d had in a long time, especially in my neighborhood. The burrito tasted like they scraped the black crust off the bottom of an oven. It was black crusted and dry, beans were watery, rice too was gross. I recommend sombreros or any other besides here.

Mexi-eats are a dime a dozen around this part of the ‘hood, so what makes this place so much better than a couple of spots no more than a few miles away? Other than the logo and a sweet bumper sticker, there really isn’t much more to that, sez me. I’m sad that there isn’t a drive thru window. I’m happy that they have a self-serve salsa bar & soft drink machine. I’m sad that the carne asada in my plate had a couple of fatty, gristly morsels at this last visit. I’m happy that they have a couple of menu specials. For lunch, I had a carne torta, which included fries and a drink, for $ 4.99. The torta bun was nice and soft, but it got soggy and nearly fell apart. The shoestring fries tasted okay, but they got steamed in the styro to-go box and were not as crispy as I would have liked. On the bright and brighter side, there was a good amount of carne in the sandwich that fell out, so it was like getting a mini order of carne asada fries minus the extra load of cheese, sauce, or other condiments. Not so much a place to go out of your way for, but it’s a good enough place to fill up if you live or work nearby.

Not so awesome but good prices. Burrito was decent not the best carnitas but prices can’t be beat. Salsa wasn’t terrific but was good. Overall the meal was worth the five bucks but not much more.

If you want a good, inexpensive Mexican food meal this place is perfect. The guacamole is legit and Cali burrito is one of the better ones that I have had.

A for Effort. Today, I got some rolled tacos and mi madre got the carnitas plate. To be honest, it was just alright. Lemme give you the thumbs ups first. The food was made to order, they had a variety of hot sauces, grilled jalapenos at your disposal, and the establishment was quite clean. Oh, and the portions were pretty large and they weren’t shiesty on the guacccc. Now, my beef w Albertos… the meat on my mom’s carnitas plate was rather dry and a bit bland(the way i saturated her plate with hot sauce compensated though). & unfortunately, my rolled tacos were also a lil dry and the meat inside didnt really taste or look like meat, but by NO means was the food nasty or anything… it just could have been better. Maybe if the cook took the food off the grill 2 minutes earlier, it wouldve been bomb. I’m not sure if i’ll return. I tried venturing out of El Coti’s for the 2nd time recently and have been disappointed. is the mexican food gods trying to tell me something? idk… but they should tell Albertos to step their game up.

Always happy to see another taco shop open close by. Came here and ordered the Chile Relleno Burrito. Came with beans, rice, cheese… I added salsa fresca. The beans and relleno were excellent, really good salsa too. My only complaint is the paper that the burrito was wrapped in was dripping with grease. I like some grease, but this was a little too much. I’m a fan though and will be back.

Pretty delicious. Brand new place. My mom brought me a Cali burrito from this place and it was fantastic. Then, I decided to visit this place myself and I ordered rolled tacos. The only reason I’m giving this place four stars is because one of the employees had their kids hanging out in the eating area and they were running around and whining about a lap top. It got annoying and I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

First! Best Fast Food Mexican in SD. This place is in kind of a crappy shopping center with not very good parking, but I was so happy to see one open up near my house… even if it has to share a storefront with Starbucks. Excellent salsa and Cali Burritos. They cleary bought used tables because it opened today… and they already have tagging on them. That just adds to the flavor! I dedicate the next five pounds I am about to gain to you, Alberto’s!

another mexican restaurant?! yeah. I guess so. though, I don’t know how well this one will do, if La Salsa didn’t do well in this spot I don’t see this one will either. anyways! I went here last night, and thought it was convenient that they had a drive through(a very tight one might I add), I didn’t know what to order so by default I got their california burritto. Waiting in drive through was surprisingly quick, I thought it was going to take like 10 minutes like they usually do at Ramiro’s on Mission blvd. When I received it in hand, I thought wow this thing is heavy. The good part about it, is that it’s HUGE!!! It’s like holding a little infant, and it was sooo good. Probably one of the better California burrittos out there IMO. Will come back for sure to try their stuff.

So I was pretty excited to see a new taco shop open up so close to my house until just recently when I had my first experience. Albertos is walking distance from my house so I seriously regret going through the drive thru. Not sure what was going on in there but I was in the drive thru no joke 30 minutes! There were two cars in front of me and 2 behind me so I couldn’t back out. At one point I tipped my seat back and dozed off with no horns to wake me up because we literally didn’t move. Usually you can make up for bad service with great food with me but unfortunately that was not the case. Kudos for the guacamole but overall the taste was bland, the meat was tough and the sauce had zero kick. You won’t see me back there again… sober at least.

No more 24 hours and no more new restaurant feel, just an ordinary place to feed drunkies with mediocre food late night…
