My Unilocal brethren disagree as to the usefulness, even the validity, of reviews written about C-stores. I side with those who believe that since Unilocal is a review site whose users rely on crowdsourced information and recommendations, we, the crowd, serve the community best by being ecumenical in our selection of the sort of places we review. The more variety we provide, the thinking goes, the more value our database offers. Others, however, consider C-store reviews throwaways, and assert that those who write them are padding their Unilocal stats. Many of these parochial and slightly patronizing metacritics are fine with write-ups about quirky tiendas and exotic ethnic markets, all the while criticizing 7-Eleven for a retail chain, which misses the important point that 7-Eleven is an extremely successful retail chain, precisely because it brings convenience to communities that are underserved by mom-and-pop shops. Until recently, I smoked, and the 7-Eleven on the southern corner of Jackson Drive and Navajo Road has saved me many trips to the nearby Keil’s Shopping Center, where a five-minute purchase might take twenty minutes. My neighborhood C-store also sells gas(reviewed separately), newspapers and donuts. Convenience, indeed. Further, as do most 7-Elevens, this one offers a broad and ever-changing range of Slurpee flavors, which my Beloved appreciates. And since she loves weird frozen ice treats, and since when she’s happy, I’m happy, I owe this 7-Eleven a summer’s-worth of gratitude. Finally, this 7-Eleven is managed by kids who are respectful and helpful. The store is, as yet, unburdened by skeevy characters, and it isn’t unusual to see parents and children inside, or groups of youngsters dropping their bikes out front as they run in for snacks. These are all signs that the neighborhood considers this«their» store.

This 7 – 11 location makes you feel thankful for stopping by. Perfect stop after a nearby hike at Cowles. New, fresh and clean, too! Oh, and who doesn’t like the convenience of Chevron gas combined! A++

I love this place. I am a regular customer and have gotten close to many of the employees, they are so friendly. They recently opened and it looks beautiful inside. Very clean and wonderful customer service. Younger employees but they all work amazing and hard. They always stay on top of there ordering and have the latest and newest products. Very nice and out-going workers and also very family-oriented. They always have fresh food ready, they throw hot foods away after an hour or so and put in some more fresh food, and they also regulate everything very well and proper.

This is the new 7-up that is joined with the old Chevron. They’re basically one in the same. On my random visits, I’ve found the place to be very clean. It isn’t huge, but there is a good selection of candy, chips, and of course drinks! I usually come here for a slurpee(who doesn’t love a sweet, icy treat once in a while?). I usually come here because it is right now the street from my house, and the gas price is decent for the area. On long roadtrips, I stop by here to gas up and to get coffee for the road! They have a great selection of hot coffees, but I usually go for the iced ones. I think they have french vanilla, regular coffee, mocha, and something else. I usually mix the mocha and french vanilla. They have 3 sizes(I think) I usually get the medium. Don’t forget to fill it up with ice, or else it won’t be super chilled! The price for the one I get is 1.39 or 1.49 I can’t remember, but either way, that price sure beats the starbucks price for the same size and amount. And of course the taste isn’t THAT drastically different! I actually like it because I can mix and match! I also come here when my friend wants some cigarettes and he says that it’s a pretty good selection, especially for camels. I don’t know how many different kinds there are, but I see plenty, so I’m sure he’s right. Definitely check this place out!

This is the new 7-Eleven that opened up at the Chevron station on the corner of Navajo and Jackson. Its clean and bright, and has all the usual treats. Not my usual 7-Eleven slurpee stop but its convenient being at the gas station and across the st from keils.
