I love the rewards program at Chronic Taco. Not to mention the great food that is fresh to order. The employees are always friendly and confirm my order before I even get to the front of the line. Great service and freshly made food keep me coming back — week over week. Awesome.

Horrible example of food overall it’s disgusting. The fish was really fishy. Salsa is big chunks of tomatoes with some onions no flavor. The chips were the only good thing here. Service sucked the blond girl had no idea what she was doing young kid doesn’t know how to cook. I eat your out of desperation and wish I would’ve waited

This place is so good! I stopped by today and the guy behind the corner was super nice and greeted me with a huge smile. They have breakfast all day too, my favorite. It smelled amazing in there and the food was fresh and fast and so yummy! The guy that worked today was aweasome and recommended things too. I will definitely be back when I am in the area.

I have to say that this place is grossly overpriced for what you get. I ordered a carnitas burrito for $ 7.95 and these was less than 3 ounces of MEAT in there, lots of beans and rice. The guys that work there have an attitude… there are so many other great Mexican food places in San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano.

This is a good option if you’d like better food than the chain fast Mexican joints offer. They do make food to order, which I appreciate. It’s cheap, can be healthy(depending on what you order), extremely casual, has friendly staff and is a local haunt. My only complaint for this type of restaurant is the lack of real napkins. Not cheap paper towels on tables. It doesn’t add to anything. I appreciate good napkins, not paper thin towel type. No restrooms that I’ve noticed. The food is good and cheap enough to try. I doubt you’ll find your favorite Mexican dish here, but it does the job.

This place is so yummy and the staff is always nice. We stop thru on our trips to San Diego and it’s a perfect treat. The carne Asada fries are my favorite. With a bit of salsa cheese and Guac, you can hardly finish. Big portions and chips on the side make for sharing. My hubby likes the burritos and they are huge as well. Seems clean an the staff is nice. Try it, you’ll like it.

I only ever order one thing: Grilled shrimp burrito with added steak and baja salsa with whatever else you want. 5 stars on that one

They offer potato taco’s which I love! We have been to two Chronic locations, this one is very skimpy on loading up your taco. Okay service.

Overpriced and I would much rather eat more authentic Mexican food somewhere else. I wouldn’t really even call this authentic, it is more like fast food. Kind of like a Chipotle, but just for tacos if that makes sense. They make it all in front of you and you get to choose your toppings. It just was not that great. And I had heard great things about this place. Definitely was disappointed.

I would’ve thought that, as we were closer to the border than we would be up in the Bay Area, that the Mexican food would be more superior the further south I went. In terms of Chronic Tacos, I was horribly, disappointingly wrong. My tacos were made from a buffet line of ingredients that had also seen better days. And the fact that 2 steak tacos cost me almost $ 12 is absolutely ridiculous. Why is there an upcharge for steak?! That’s usually a pretty basic meat choice at taquerias! Except this wasn’t a taqueria, as I sadly learned. This was like a souped-up Taco Bell trying to look more authentic.

I actually LOVED this place… It seems a little off the beaten track, and doesn’t have raving reviews, but my GF lives in the area so we went to get food to take home. Upon walking in, you get the Subway/Chipotle feel to it. You order whatever combo you want with whatever stuffed inside. I was in love with my California Burrito– all I needed was the fries, meat, guacomle and cheese! SOAMAZING, it was pretty big and I ate the whole thing. I will be back for sure when I’m up in the area again. The staff seemed very nice, and the prices weren’t TOO bad, considering guacamole comes with, versus paying the $ 2 more for a side, like some places do. I got my burrito and a side of beans(of course) for exactly $ 10! LOVEIT :)

Stopped by after fishing Dana Point a few weeks ago. I have to say, we were drawn in by the name. How can you not try a place called Chronic Tacos? The service was great, as the cook was very friendly and the server gave us ample servings. The food tasted just OK though. I was thinking they were going to taste a little better, especially since it looked really good and the servers were hyping it up. The carnitas looked amazing, but it needed more flavor. Maybe I am just spoiled with the good spots in San Diego? Something was definitely lacking though. It was on the pricier side for tacos, as they were $ 2.49, even though they weren’t of the tiny variety. There has to be better taco joints than this out in the OC, isn’t there?
