Ariel’s Refinishing and Upholstery

There are many furniture refinishers that are good, this is simply not one of them. First customer service is non-​existent they were gruff and unprofessional. They argued constantly and lacked any social skills. It was a nightmare, they kept yelling in my home that they weren’t furniture movers? I was confused, Yet they advertise they «pick up?» My husband and I said we could have the item delivered and they said no, ok perhaps it was an ego thing but it confused us both… They took the piece returned it a week late argued again about carrying the piece back in my home??, the price was as promised but the stain was uneven and smelled horribly. They said it didn’t smell, I imagine if they are in their shop all day they can’t smell anything. They blamed the lighting in my home that the stain was uneven. They yelled at me saying they didn’t need customers like me… I was three months pregnant and didn’t need to be bullied with my husband at work, when I simply asked them about the work, they were there to take their money and leave.
I later had another company come in who noted the discoloration before I could even tell them why they were called. They said they didn’t coat the legs evenly to match the top and that that the piece should have been aired and dried properly before returning it to a customer’s home .I paid their fee and now my item is perfect. But please don’t go to Ariel’s these are probably the worst people I have ever dealt with for a simple refinishing job… go anywhere else… I wouldn’t recommend them to someone I hated. Simply horrible. Truly its not even about the bad work as it was about how I was treated… truly unprofessional

I have been looking for a year to have a 1930’s china cabinet refinished. Spoke to several companies who either didn’t return calls or wanted a ridiculous amount of money. I spoke with Ariel and then worked out everything via email. He gave me a fair price, picked up free as scheduled and did a great job! His dad came with him and was also very nice. They ended up doing a sofa table as well and it’s beautiful also. I would highly recommend them!

Do not do business with them. The father is unprofessional and belligerent. They do not stand by their work!
