Enjoyed coming here for a post-graduation party. I thought the very large fan was very cool(pardon the pun) looking. Tyler was our server and did an EXCELLENT job managing 9 adults and 13 kids. The pizzas were delicious. Overall, a nice place to hangout in San Carlos.

I travel back and forth between the Bay Area and SoCal quite often. Patxi’s Pizza on Laurel in San Carlos, is always on my list. The pizza is delicious, the ambiance is perfect for a frazzled traveler looking for comfort, or someone needing some pizza pampering. Our favorite server, Gavin, makes it feel like a true homecoming. Do yourself a favor… Patxi it.

Went here for my birthday tonight with my folks excited eat tasty pie and watch the warriors win :). Been eating at the SF location in Noe for a while and thought I’d give the San Carlos one a shot. Pizza was cold upon arrival, had no flavor either, service was not good(hard to get anyone’s attention so we could order more food and drinks) and the large salad was super small and came with these giant leaves of lettuce that were difficult to eat. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. Won’t be back to the San Carlos location, but if I’m ever craving pizza in Noe Valley, maybe I’ll take a chance there.

Eeesh, I rarely give low reviews, however, both of my experiences at this Patxi’s location were poor. The first time I went to Patxi’s was just for drinks and we sat at the bar. Drinks were okay, however, we were excited for a new restaurant with a fun atmosphere to open up in the area. On our first visit, the server messed up our bill — we received the correct check and then when we got the receipt showing the charge, he had clearly charged our cards on the wrong bill. Our bill was $ 15 for two drinks during happy hour and we were each charged almost $ 50/person. Fast forward to our second visit — we decided to celebrate a co-workers birthday here. We ordered a variety of food and nothing really stood out to me. Antipasti was good, but, it’s not something you can really mess up. Arugula salad was drowning in olive oil, it was terrible. We ordered a thin crust pizza(Margherita) and Chicaga Style pizza — both weren’t very tasty and were just overall semi-okay. The Margherita was served to us a couple minutes after ordering, which was weird, and it came out cold. Both pizzas were very underwhelming. On the second visit, our server messed up our charges when it came time to paying the bill — again! Anyhow, I personally do not plan on returning.

Visited Paxti’s last Thursday. It wasn’t super crowded. I was seated right away but it took at least 10 – 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge that I was even there. Finally got some water and ordered a drink while I waited for my friend. My Mojito was the worst tasting Mojito I’ve ever had. It was tasteless and had no flavor. The waitress was very nice once she made contact with me. When my friend arrived, we ordered the kale & brussel sprout salad and a prosciutto & arugula pizza. The salad was just ok(seemed to be just thrown on the plate, not really tossed and mixed about) but the pizza was really good. Wish I could say that everything was outstanding!!! Not sure when I will be returning with so many other better restaurants around.

Okay, I normally like Patxi’s a lot. Or I thought I did, until I had the worst pizza ever about a month ago now. I ordered through Postmates because I’m a lazy person, so I was expecting a large deep dish cheese with pineapple. Easy, right? Postmates did a fine job with the delivery; on time, food was hot, etc. No complaints there. But the PIZZA was a MESS. I did NOT order a half-baked pizza, yet what I got was… a pile of mush. The cheese was at that«just-melted-and-really-squishy-without-being-chewy» stage, which made it obvious that it didn’t get nearly enough time in the oven. The layer of dough on top was so pasty that I almost threw up after biting into it. I was so nauseated by the horrible textures that I left the pizza in the kitchen and immediately contacted Postmates. They suggested I contact the restaurant, so I did… and I never received a reply. Weeks ago. Not a single acknowledgment of my email. I mean, I spent over $ 30 on a pizza, so you could at least apologize for selling me such a bad one, right? I’m pretty sure it was two days later that I decided to go vegan and mostly grain-free again, so I would have no use for a Patxi’s gift card. Just a big shame to waste so much money on something that was so bad.

I am reviewing a bad DELIVERY of their pizza and poor online ordering. The pizza we ordered was not the pizza we got. How hard is it to get a sausage pizza with spinach and anchovies? We get a Margarita(basil included) with spinach and a side of COLD anchovies. The delivery service(Postmates) was very slow. Phone calls revealed our order was ready long before it was picked up. We ended up eating a cold, limp and soggy pizza after 9:00 at night. Mrs S. and I have dined in-house at Patxi’s and have always had an excellent pizza and the only thing better than the food has been the service. Take my advice: NEVER have their product delivered. It gets car sick…

I’ve been here a couple times to the bar which protrudes to the exterior patio area towards Laurel St. They have a couple flat screens on either side of this massive, Carrara marble bar usually playing sporting events. It’s one of their highlights. The food here is pretty good like most every place on Laurel St. The Padrón peppers with their red pepper spicy tomato sauce is one of my favorites. The meatballs are juicy and delicious with nuances of flavors oozing in each bite. That chopped salad with herb roasted chicken, cheese cubes, salami cubes, pepperoncini’s over greens is a delicious concoction of Italian flavors. I’ve even had the Bianco Verde pizza which is decent but pretty dull with mostly cheese with subtle pesto flavors. Both of the male bartenders tending the bar on two separate occasions were excellent with friendliness and attentiveness. There was an attitudinal female who I’m not sure was tending the bar or bar backing. Asking her for some water seemed to be annoying. I got a still water no ice in a bourbon glass– quite contrary to the full glass of ice water from the nicer bartenders. When I asked for a personal pizza, she retorted, «It’s not happy hour anymore.» and said nothing else. It was as if I should have offered my sincerest apologies for not realizing. My bf and I were told by one of the nice bartenders the personal pizza isn’t on the menu but was offered outside of happy hour. Who knows. I like their outside bar, food and the two bartenders I was tended on twice. I could do without the other though– not really typical in the other restaurants around the area.

Review is for delivery Our team had the Matt Cain(pepperoni, garlic fennel sausage) and Greek(marinated artichoke hearts, feta, green bell peppers, kalamata olives) pizzas delivered today for a working lunch — a nice little surprise as this has been on my list for a while, but never made it to the final round of ‘so what do you want for dinner’ in our household. Pizzas arrived hot with the crust looking nicely browned, and the we could tell the flavors apart from the bits of sausage or artichoke poking out of the tomato sauce layer. Once pulled apart though, it looked like the the very middle of the dough on the Matt Cain was not completely cooked through, which was a bit of a disappointment. The toppings themselves were well flavored and cooked, so the pieces were all there, it was just the execution of a pie that was lacking.

Patxi is one of those gourmet pizza places with a full bar. The service was excellent and the staff was polite and attentive. We ordered the meatball appetizer, which was slamming and could be a meal of its own. It came with 4 big juicy meatballs with cheesy focaccia bread that was just heavenly. We also ordered the spinach thin crust pizza which turned out to be disappointing. It looks great and was loaded with toppings(heaping dollops of mozzarella!), but somehow the spinach and tomatoes made the pizza soggy… I just have to dork off one star since this is supposed to be a pizza specialty place.

This seems to be a newer location, nice service and excellent pizza. The prices are a bit high and the wait really long to get a deep dish pizza, but after a few bites I realize it was all worth it. I get cravings for Patxi’s and try to stop at one of their locations every time I am in San Francisco, the sauce here is amazing! Love their salads as well, nice addition to the heavy pizza. Very filling, it is hard to eat more than a couple of slices but it still tastes great later. Service can be a bit spotty since they get so busy, but it’s worth a stop while in the area!

Been meaning to write this review for a while now. I really enjoy this addition to Laurel street. Patxis has a great offering of pizzas, both thin crust and deep dish, as well as a thin crust GF crust!(Huge plus for that one) Items I also love are: –the antipasto plate –the artichoke dip(I have dreams about this) –the chopped salad –the salsiccia(thin crust) –the piccante(thin crust) –GF crust –I have tried a build your own deep dish which was also amazing Minus one star just because some of the prices are a little much, and getting GF crust sometimes can make it a really overpriced pizza. But even with that… I will certainly be back.

Came here one weekend for dinner with two other friends. It was fairly busy but we were seated almost right away. We ordered the Artichoke Dip and a half/half deep dish pizza with BBQ Chicken and… I think the Alfredo?! I’ll be honest, I was pretty blasted after the few beers we had before coming here… couldn’t even focus on the menu so my friends took care of that. Ordered a Sculpin here as well. My review still stands truthful! As I had a yummy and fun time here. The pizza was really filling and was actually just enough for the three of us. Lots of sauce and toppings, just how I like it. The artichoke dip could’ve used more dip though — the portion for that was pretty small. It’s probably more built for two people though. Service is awesome and friendly, but wait times for food is pretty slow(but we were told our apprx. wait time for pizza was 45 min. and we agreed to it). Wish I could remember our waiter’s name but he was really helpful and even sat down with us when taking our order — I joked that maybe he’s tired, but I really do find it a nice thing when waiters treat you more like a friend than just another customer! Can’t ever go wrong with yummy pizza! Hope to be back.(Maybe sober this time).

I don’t want to say I know good deep dish pizza because I’m from Chicago because honestly, outside of tourists, post-kid’s little league games, and when you’re within a mile from suburban mega mall, dining on deep dish isn’t really a desired thing… I’d say deep dish is mostly reserved for when out of town friends are visiting and have deep dish pizza on their to-do list, but it’s by no means a bad pizza to indulge in. Just be ready because some places are quicker to serve you up a brick of cheese than a great deep dish pie… luckily, Paxti’s serves up the latter. How does it compare to Chicago deep dish? Well, I was pretty damn hungry when I chowed down on my pie, but I honestly think I might even like it better. Gooey, flavorful, not at all brick-like. It was tremendous. It was also hella pricey but for that flavor I’d make no bones about ponying up again. Next time I’ll definitely make sure I come for Happy Hour where they’ve got $ 3 off beer and cocktails. $ 6 mixed drinks? Of course I’m in! The sea salt pepper appetizer could have used a skosh more sea salt, but were otherwise wunderbar. I built my own 10″ thin and 10″ deep dish to split with my roommate. ** The Deep Dish had ricotta cheese, spinach, and roasted garlic where you’ll take on whole cloves and needn’t worry about vampires for any time in the foreseeable future. The cheese wasn’t too cheesy and the crust, something I normally waste, instead was enjoyed with a drizzle of chili oil and honey which they encourage you to use at the table. ** The Thin Crust had black olives, Kalamata olives, and Calabrian chiles. It was so damn good. It’s for real taking everything in me not to order it again today. And one of the best things was that it was too spicy for my roommate so I got to eat the whole thing. Huzzah! I think the only things keeping me from coming back every day are the calories and my bank account. For the two 10″ pies, peppers appetizer, and 3 glasses of wine with tip the bill came out to just under $ 100, which I wasn’t expecting for casual pizza and we did only have 1 slice of each pizza left over, but I do think it’s worth it for the flavor. Apparently there’s also some sort of $ 10 lunch special that a friend was telling me about and at first I was like, «What? $ 10 for lunch? That’s not special.» but now having had the Paxti’s experience at full price and flavor, I will certainly be setting some lunch time and $ 10 aside to take advantage.

i was excited to try this location of patxi’s as it had just opened last spring and i had yet to have a chance to dine here. hubby and i made this our date lunch for the week and since we came around 2/2.30pm, there was no wait for a table. we even scored a booth that was facing the large screen tvs, broadcasting the day’s football games… much to my husband’s delight! we decided to order a small greek salad and a 14″ thin crust pizza to share. the salad was a standard greek salad, with tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, red onions, kalamata olives, and feta cheese. the dressing was a roasted garlic vinaigrette, a fresh and zesty accompaniment to the salad. i enjoyed this salad as all of the veggies were very fresh and crunchy/juicy. the pizza took a bit of time, as we knew it would, but it came out in about 15 – 20 minutes, the perfect amount of time for us to settle in and eat our salad. since we customized the pizza, choosing our own veggies and meats in the form of sausage, chicken, artichokes, olives, green peppers, and red onions, it was a bit more expensive, in fact, close to $ 30 for this make your own pie. unfortunately, the pizza itself was a bit soggy and wet, likely due to the fact that i chose way too many veggies(so my husband says). we thought the amount of meat they gave us was just ok, we wouldn’t have minded more meat and less veggies! also, several of the slices had burnt crusts, so i did not eat those crusts(yes, they were actually black!) for the price we paid, about $ 50 including tax & tip, this was not a satisfactory meal since the quality was not the greatest and the quantity was just average. service was decent, and we enjoyed the ambiance of the large screen tvs and modern space, but overall, we felt like we’d had an average lunch experience.

This was my first time eating this Patxi’s location. It is my favorite location set up wise and I love the open air seating in front and roll up window. The restaurant itself is quite spacious and the décor is modern and welcoming. It being located on Laurel Street just makes it even better. Their pizzas are consistent with all the other Patxi’s locations I’ve been to and always enjoy their Spinach Pesto Deep Dish pizza. They had a 30% off wines that are no longer on the menu and our pairing went well with dinner. Our hostess was extremely friendly and helpful while our server seemed a little less refined with his demeanor to put it mildly. Pros: Gorgeous set up for a Patxi’s, delicious consistent deep dish pizza and salads Cons: Only been here once and the service was ok Bottom line: Consistent Patxi’s pizza in a modern and cozy set up
