Great service, great drinks, decent prices. Can’t ask much more from a pub. They have a pool table, a juke box, and the music is just loud enough to where you don’t have to yell to be heard but satisfying to the ear drums. I saw someone complaining about the wait time for a drink, well sometimes they get busy and thats to be expected at any bar you go to. I’ve personally never had a problem with their service, probably one of those days. But great for game days, and the weekends! Will keep going!

I used to love this place but tonight it took 5 minutes to even be acknowledged and another 2 minutes to get a beer. Crappy service, team. Step it up guys.

My experience at Clooney’s was just A-OK, so three stars. I visited twice, so I base my review on this. First, the bar is too bright. If they dimmed the lights a more low key atmosphere would result. When you enter, you walk into the bar area, and then the back room has a pool table. The bar area does have a nice little corner with benches and cushions and a coffee table for a small group setting. The tap selection is small but does include Guinness(served in frosty glasses, though, boo), Stella, Lagunitas IPA, and Anchor Steam. I can be happy enough drinking any of these. The first night I visited, an extremely drunk man was refused service and told he could not wait for his cab inside the bar as he was sloppily falling all over the bar. I appreciated the fact that the bartender called him a cab and then told him to wait outside. When he didn’t move, a couple of the regular patrons at the bar kindly helped him out and even waited a little bit with him. I think the regulars here are pretty cool based on what I saw. Clientele includes a diverse group, which I like. This is not my first choice for having a beer in the area, but they were open on New Year’s evening when almost everything else was closed. I think Clooney’s is a good, dependable neighborhood bar. I will probably return when I am in the area again.

4.5 stars. It is St. Patrick’s Day. The Guinness is perfect and they have free«appetizers» with corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes. Lively crowd, nice staff. My only complaint is that the music is too loud to talk, and it is not Irish music — today of all days! I will be back soon.

Yikes. What once was THE place to be is now almost a ghost town. The main bar area has a smell of vomit. The glasses smelled of detergent, taking away from the flavor of the drink. The female bartender asked a patron for her id but then didn’t know what year was the correct year for legal drinking age. All the patrons there tonight were young.

It’s a pub in San Carlos. I am surprised they even have one. Decent selection of brews and a pool table in the back. You can expect some drama late night… I’ve been here twice and both times been asked to play bouncer.

Good pub for a correctly poured pint of Guinness. There’s pool for a buck. It’s not going to impress any date, but if you want to hang out with some of your buds in a non-pretentious setting, here’s the place. You come here to drink and chill. That’s it. I’ll probably be back – minus 1 star for a drunk fool whose violent(yet friendly) antics kind of put a damper on things… but with a friendly bartender and a proper Guinness in an unpretentious setting, you can’t go wrong.

Probably a great spot if you live close, are under 25& think it’s appropriate to wear pajama pants in public. I’m not joking. So it’s a bar, not the greatest but we went not so recently on a weekday post sushi, it wasn’t packed so we could actually shoot the shit. And I understand there’s a Ms. Pacman which is probably the only reason for the third star. It was the sheer opposite crowd you’d find at Town but ironically almost equally entertaining. Blue moon and hefe on tap, the leather couch was available and nobody was falling over drunk. Except that one really old guy high fiving his local hoodrats. For anyone who has ever spent time in San Francisco, this is no different than any local neighborhood bar, namely in the Sunset except you won’t find as many Irish lads and everyone is under 25 instead of well over 25. If you’re ambitious and happen to be in the area, check this place out but truly don’t go running to it.

I came here two hang out with co-workers for happy hour. They have a pool table and darts. I spent most of my time chilling on the couch.

The only good thing I can say is the beer was cold. The service was bad. There were only 8 people there which should have been my first sign. No greeting and we practically had to beg for service. My beer was flat. We left as soon as hubby finished his beer. I didn’t even finish mine. We left and headed to the office. It was 5 stars!

So, my Hair Stylist told me that this would be my kind of place to hang out with friends and enjoy some good drinks… and now? I am writing in order to pass this information on to you! We walked right in to Clooney’s(after showing IDs to the bouncer ofcourse) on a Saturday night. The bartender greeted us and took our orders and then we grabbed the booth right by the door. They played an odd selection of music that didn’t quite go with the«That 70s show» playing on the tv, but all in all we loved the atmosphere there! Everyone was just enjoying their night with friends. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own conversations and you don’t have to worry about someone knocking into you making you spill your drink on your way to the table from the bar. I recommend checking the place out for sure! I know we will be back to mix it up a bit sometime very soon! The bouncer even chatted with us for a bit and then… when we left a coupe workers were on a break outside and they yelled«Thanks for coming to Clooney’s Pub ~ Happy Holidays!» to us! They are a friendly bunch here for sure!

Reasons why I love my neighborhood bar: Get here early and snag the best seat in the house, the leather couch. We made ourselves very comfortable and ignored the jealous looks. An interesting variety of folks. From the super laid back regulars to the over the top black mini dress girls. Juke box, pool table, darts and Happy Hour 10−11pm — genius! It’s comforting knowing Clooney’s can deliver the goods. Also knowing I can crawl home if I need to is a plus.

Great Neighborhood Bar. Often stop off on the way home for a tall cold one and a game of pool with my buddies. They offer strong drinks and plenty of beer choices at very reasonable prices… and also a pretty good jukebox. The bartenders are all fun and attentive. The young loud crowd jams the place after 9pm and it can get packed, so I enjoy the afternoons/evenings better than the nights. Check it out… a place where you can be yourself… not like the meat markets at town & carlos club where everyone is trying to impress everyone else.

A decent neighborhood bar that I go to occasionally with the lads when we’re in the mood for a pint or two away from wife and kiddies. The place used to be a total dive, but was remodeled a few years back and now looks really nice inside, including a new bar. The bartenders here do a great job. The crowd here is not as yuppy as some of the more popular spots in San Carlos and for me that makes it more interesting. When we go(maybe once every few months) it’s typically on a Friday night, which tends to be dominated by a younger, twenty-something crowd from the local apartments, rounded out by a mix of blue collar types, oldsters, suburbanites(like me I guess), with a pinch of odd characters for flavor. The jukebox is decent: mostly classic rock, but with some blues, reggae, Frank Sinatra, even Irish folk music. The one thing I don’t like about this place is the single unisex bathroom. It just isn’t enough when the place gets packed, like it does on occasion. Bless their hearts, they do serve Guiness and they do it right. It’s usually the first word I say after I walk in the door.

The crowd here is very different depending on the day and time you go. The earlier you are, the older the crowd. There have been a couple of times when I’ve gone in and you’d have thought that the old folks home was having a field trip. Other times(Friday nights), the crowd is much younger(barely drinking age) and hipper and louder. The drinks are reasonably priced, pretty strong and the service is usually really good. Love playing pool and darts in the back room and the juke box is pretty decent. The only real negative is that they don’t serve any food. The last time I was there they had a rack with bags of chips for sale, but that’s it. No peanuts, pretzels, etc. The good news is that they don’t mind if you bring food in. I’ve seen people get pizza delivered, or bring in Chinese take out from down the street.
