Came here this afternoon with my family. I was craving Mediterranean food, so we came here! When we first walked in, the guy at the register greeted us and we ordered right away. There were so many yummy options to choose from. I got the chicken skewer rice plate and my brothers got shawarmas. Omg. Soooo good! Everything tasted authentic and fresh!!! We also got smoothies, I got Pena colada. I would be willing to try a different flavor next time. It didn’t taste very colada-y. I’m so in love! Can’t wait to come back!

I’m Polynesian and I love Mediterranean food today I tried pita hub for the first time and the food is awesome… I don’t comment much on Unilocal but I had to give a great and awesome review do to the fact there was an issue with my card and the owner made things work out as if I were a family member he trusted that I would enjoy the food while it’s hot then return to pay. Who does that now days??? It’s very rare but truly heartfelt and it made my day not only the food is so satisfying but the boss man there is one of a kind. I know this place will rise! My best friend is Greek so my next treat will be at the pita hub! Thanks again for the love!

3 stars because the manager Amer is nice, the pita bread and garlic butter is very good and I liked the ground beef/lamb that was in my Combo lunch special. The plate would be so much better if the shredded chicken and pieces of lamb were not so dry. The chicken was too dry that I couldn’t eat it. I’m just surprised that a business would allow such dry meat to be put in their plates. I will probably go back to try a wrap but I definitley will not get a combo plate again. Responding to Rodger: My apologies, I didn’t realize there was a Pita hub in San Bruno and didn’t bother looking at the address. But yes, I visited the Redwood City location either Wednesday 6⁄15 or 6⁄16. Can’t remember exactly but I also went again the following day. Both transactions show up on my bank account for Saturday 6⁄18 so my visits were definitely that week. And yes, I meant Garlic spread that came with the meal and yes I used that sauce which is delicious. The only issue was the very dry meat that came with my combo plate. Thanks for responding.

Eh, not great and not terrible. I got the lamb and beef shawarma and it really wasn’t that tasty. Its big, but you pay $ 10 for a sandwich. I would expect a $ 10 shawarma to be really good. This one isn’t.

Wow! I mean wow. Incredible food and service. Ordered the fool to start. Not on menu but simply amazing. I’ve had this dish all over the world and have never enjoyed as much as here. Also ordered the Chicken tawook with hummus. Chicken was grilled perfect. Tender pieces of breast meat topped with a chunky tomato sauce. Even the rice and pita was bomb. Make sure to get the homemade Harissa if you like it spicy. I ordered the in house made baklava to go. He said it was made 2 hours ago. Fucking awesome. Wish I could give them 10 stars. Will definitely be back!

Pita Hub rescued my craving for Greek/Mediterranean food. This is actually the second time I’ve had Pita Hub, but didn’t realize we had been there until the owner showed up with our order. I saw him the first time my boyfriend and I went to the store for take away and we ordered so much food he even threw in an extra pita for us. I was worried he thought we were fatties but didn’t dwell too much since I stuck to my order. The store is clean with a few tables to eat in or sit and wait for your order. We were served quickly and everything we ordered was delicious. In addition to my falafel plate, I had ordered a tabouli salad to go for work the next day and because I had mentioned I was taking it to work, he told the person preparing it to pack the dressing on the side so the salad would stay fresh. It was a really nice attention to detail. My second experience was ordering delivery. I was going to order through EAT24, but I’ve had some issues with my orders in the past using the system so decided to call directly. I am glad I did. Ordering through the system charges an automatic $ 10 delivery charge which would have detered me from placing the order. When I called, the girl who I spoke to was very nice and said there is a $ 5 local delivery charge. This seems much more reasonable especially since we live close by. This time, I had the Deluxe Falafel sandwich which came in a toasted pita wrap like a burrito. He had the chicken schwarma sandwich and the pita hub combo platter which doubled as my next days lunch. Oh annnnnd an order of pita and hummus. Everything was delicious and I was stuffed before I even looked at the platter food. I’m very impressed with Pita Hub and the fact that the owner is very much involved; he is putting out yummy food at a fair price. This is definitely is a place I will come back to!

Went here on a Friday night and picked up a to-go order. We had a Tawook platter and a Lamb platter. Called in about 10 minutes prior to picking up and food was ready. Owner was there when we picked up and introduced himself. Upon walking in I noticed the meat on the spit on the back counter. Everything looked fresh and the tables looked clean. There is some seating available both inside and outside but it is a smaller place. Food was good and flavorful. A great addition to San Bruno where the food choices are somewhat limited. Will come back again.

Been wanting to try this place since seeing it opened awhile back but didn’t get the chance. Told my husband I wanted something light for lunch and thought of this place. They have a small parking lot and we found parking right away. Came in and there was a family in front of us. But we were next and the guy took our order right away. They have self served ice water to the left of where you place the order. I ordered the hummus and chicken shwarma plate and my husband order the chicken shwarma plate. Our order was ready within 5 mins. Both of our plates came with pita bread. My plate was tasty! Shreds of chicken on top of hummus and roasted tomatoes? My baby daughter enjoyed the hummus and that’s a bonus because she hardly likes anything. My husband said his plate was pretty good too(came with some salad and rice). Both dishes had a white garlic yogurt sauce? Which was pretty good with the dish and the guy even gave us hot sauce which went well with the dishes. Portions didn’t seem like a lot but we were both stuffed half way through. We will definitely be back when I’m craving for something light which is almost always. Place isn’t too big but luckily it wasn’t busy when we went. There was also a few tables outside. All the employees were super friendly too. And they also have a big screen TV inside.

Where has pita hub been all my life? I just had the vegan platter and a strawberry peach banana smoothie and I’m in food heaven. Smoothie tasted like they used real fruits Instead of artificial syrups and cost 4.75 $ for a regular. The vegan platter($ 10) had the most delicious falafel I’ve ever had. Crispy outside and moist inside, YUM! The hummus and the smashed eggplant mixture drizzled with olive oil was amazing and the rice perfectly cooked. The dolmas were good also. tasted like the box I get from Costco, so if you’ve had those than you’ll like these. The Salad mixture I believe it’s tabulleh(or something like that) was good too. I’ve had this at other places and it was overwhelmed by the parsley, but this one was perfectly balanced so I had no problem gobbling it down. It was topped off with tomatoes which I don’t eat, but mixed in with the tabulleh it was absolutely amazing! Pita hub has now changed my view on tomatoes =) thanks. Baklava was $ 3 haven’t tried it yet but it looks delicious drizzled with some type of syrup and must I say, the piece is huge. One tip. eat the falafel fresh or else it’ll get soggy and you’ll miss out on that crunchy outside!

Nice little shop on the corner near Tanforan that offers GREAT shawarmas and wraps. I always get both the lamb and beef wrap and the chicken wrap. They don’t offer tahini sauce like I’ve seen at other places, but they have a good tzatziki sauce for your wrap. They deliver and do takeout too!

I LOVE coming here after my leg day. Nothing like clean food that’s delicious ! The lunch special is from 11am-3pm and that’s the only thing I’ve gotten so I can’t speak on what else is on the menu. It consists of beef, chicken with onions and tomato, rice, and a salad with cucumber and feta cheese. It’s a big portion so I usually eat half and eat the rest later, which is just as good! The place is full of natural lighting which I love also. Anyways my food is ready so I’ll stop here.

I love pita hub. It’s halal and yummy. I love the chicken Tawook wrap. It’s so yum. With potatoes, pickles, tahini, garlic sauce and tender chunks of chicken breast. Drool. The plate is pretty yummy too– a lot of rice though. My husband and I order food from here frequently– almost too frequently.

Truly wanted to like Pita Hub… clean, friendly staff and a private parking lot, all conveniently located on El Camino with great adjacency to 101 and 280. Purchased two Lamb/Beef Shawarma plates and bakalava to go. The bakalava was a generous and scrumptious treat at $ 3.00 a piece. The bonus of a drizzle of honey was sweet. Unfortunately, the shawarmas was dry, chewy and a BIG disappointment. There was no onion, tomato, parsley or tahini sauce as posted on the menu. The shawarmas were basically dry, chewy pieces of meat wrapped in lavosh bread(see picture). Although Pita Hub is conveniently located, I will trek over to Sunrise Deli or Oasis Grill for shawarmas in the future.

Stopped by on my way back from Costco. I love Middle Eastern food, and was glad to have a new choice in this area. Parking is tricky, and their lot is less than roomy. Although there were several people waiting to pick up food, there was only one person in front of me in line. Based on earlier reviews, it seems they’ve improved their ordering system, but there is still a little bit more of a wait than I’d like to get the food. The food I saw coming out looked pretty good, and clearly they have a following. The order taker, who I think was an owner, seemed to know people and in some cases what their order would be too! I decided to get a deluxe falafel wrap, cause I wanted the eggplant. I should have asked to leave the potatoes out; all they really add is calories. I will do that if I go back. I like that they use what I think is authentic Lebanese flatbread for the wrap, but it could have been a little fresher. It was packed with all the usuals — hummus, tomatoes, pickled veg, falafel. So unlike my Unilocal food maven, Cherylynn, I found the falafel flavorful, but very mushy. Perhaps that’s due to it being in a wrap with all the other stuff, but still I was disappointed that it retained almost no texture. What vegetables there were had good flavor, but I wish there had been more, and some onion would have been nice. Also wish there’d been more eggplant. It’s good to have another ethnic option in the area, and I would give them another chance, but would order something different. 2.5 rounding up

I actually really like this place but a few key things keep me from giving it a higher rating. First PROTIP: buy a dinner plate and if you want falafel add a few for 50 cents instead of getting the falafel dinner it’s worth it. They’ll give you some extra shredded vegetables and sauce with the al la carte falafels. Service is a bit on the slow side, I think the system needs to be worked out a bit there. It shouldn’t take 20 minutes to prep an order where most of the food is pre prepared. Professionalism is lacking a bit with staff. Just a hair away from me saying this is a dynamite place. I hope they get there, I will be coming back. Edit: very nice reply from the owner, bumped up my review, will come back

The owner was awesome, and very accommodating. I order a combo plate to go, but ate some of it while seated. The owner came by and said, «I’m sorry, we forget your falafel’. That’s really cool that they give you complimentary falafel when you eat in their restaurant. The combo is a great deal at $ 13. I did need to get a few extra garlic sides. That sauce is awesome! As far as the meat, the chicken was a little dry. The kefta wasn’t as flavorful as some other joints, and the beef cubes were ok. They weren’t bad, but just not a Zankou Chicken in SoCal. Worth a try and a great value!

Once again, the owner who uses different names must be obsess with me because I get yet another message from him in my Unilocal messages! Get a life Michael or Robyn. Whatever your name may be. Check out his message in photos and below. I snapshot it. Michael or Robyn whatever name you go by, YOUARESUCH A DELUSIONALIDIOT sending me stupid messages claiming I’m a fake customer, when I’ve proven over and over I purchased and used the groupon and it was redeemed at your restaurant. Customers BEWAREOFTHISOWNER. He has serious issues when people give him bad reviews. He will not leave you alone, so report him to Unilocal Next…I will report you to Unilocal if you do not leave me alone!!!

Bottom line: Big portions, but I didn’t like their food. Bought a $ 13 plate and a $ 2 mango juice and was disappointed by both. I’m not a fan of dry falafels and dry meat, and though they have me plenty of it, I really couldn’t stomach it. Even with the cheap mango juice. The dry meat and falafel kept getting stuck in my throat and I thought to myself, why do people like it here? My plate had the kebabs, beef and chicken, both were awful. And some cut up shawarma with rice and two falafels. It also came with shredded red cabbage and cucumber slaw that was bland. Goodness no. I’m only giving this place 3 stars for the portion size, but I won’t be back.

3.5STARS These days, I get excited over the stupidest things. I was driving home from the dog park when I saw a vibrant splash of lime green from the corner of my eye. Like a pervert molesting a half-naked beezie walking down the street with their eyes, I pulled over to the side of the road to take a better look. It was Pita Hub, a new Mediterranean restaurant that took over the old florist shop. I know it’s San Bruno but I got excited. I got excited over the outdoor seating so I can bring Tater Tot. Stupid isn’t it? I read through some really mixed reviews so I kept my expectations low. No way this place is 5 stars but there’s no way it’s 1 star either. Some reviews were pretty harsh but for being open for less than a month, Pita Hub does have a lot of room for improvement. Pita Hub serves Mediterranean and Lebanese cuisine: hummus, baba ghanoush, dolmas, shawarma, kabab, kofta, falafels, etc. For the proteins, you have an option of a sandwich($ 6-$ 9.50) or plate($ 9-$ 13) which comes with basmati rice, salad, and pita bread. They also serve bagels, omelettes, and smoothies. Bring lots of patience because all the reviews about s-l-o-w service are true. If you’re in a rush, go elsewhere. We came right when they opened at 11 am, was the first to order, and it took over 25 minutes for our order to be ready(2 cooks in the kitchen). I can see orders getting mixed up between customers so they should consider implementing a number system(the owner gestured with his hands when our order was ready). There’s a handful of tables inside and outside. The awning is short so you don’t much shade if you’re sitting outside. At least I got to bake my petrifyingly white legs when it was 80+ degrees over the weekend. We started with the Hummus App($ 5): which was thick and creamy with a nice subtle hint of garlic and lemon. The dousing of olive oil gave it an additional layer of silkiness. I relished the leftovers. The accompanying pita bread sucked. It was stale, incredibly dry, and tasted like cardboard, even when grilled. With a name like«Pita Hub», the pita should be good. They need to source their pita bread elsewhere because it was awful. For our mains, we ordered the Combo Platter and the Beef & Lamb Shawarma Plate so we were able to sample pretty much all the proteins on the menu. Portions were huge and we had enough leftovers to feed another hangry adult. *The Combo Platter — House specialty kababs, kofta, shawarma, chicken tenders, falafel(not shown) w/rice, salad, pita($ 13): *Beef & Lamb Shawarma Plate — Sliced, marinated beef & lamb w/seasoned onion, tomato, tahini sauce, rice, salad, pita($ 12.50): Surprisingly, the BEST thing on the menu was a vegan item, the Falafels: . These twin balls had a very crunchy exterior and the interior was lush and moist. I dare say, they’re better than some of the falafels in SF especially when dipped into the creamy hummus. The shawarma, chicken tender, and kababs(very tough) were all very dry. The chicken was the worst of them all. It was slaughtered twice, once at the farm, and second time on the grill. The kofta was the only tender piece of meat with a meatloaf texture. The basmati rice was great and nicely seasoned. The salad dressing was too sour. I love tzatziki and slather it all over my meats but Pita Hub needs to improve on the consistency and taste. It was very watery and there was too much lemon juice and not enough garlic. The owners are really nice but they need to do a better job with food prep so they can expedite orders. Also, they’re overcooking their meats which is why it’s so dry and it takes so long to receive your order. I would definitely return for them balls and hummus lube. By then, I hope the owners pay a visit to Flying Falafels in SF to see how good pita bread should look and taste: . If they use the same pita bread vendor and tweak their recipes, Pita Hub would really standout in San Bruno. Good luck, guys!
