Usually I ask that my hair is cut in a way that it would still look good without styling. With some stylists this works for a couple of weeks. Pam’s haircuts made it possible for me not to worry about my hair for months. No products, no blowdrying. I have very fine hair, too and she was very good at adding volume through her cuts. The price is incredibly reasonable for the quality of the haircut. The only down side is that, because she is so meticulous, your appointment will take a long time. I would say, definitely over an hour for a haircut, sometimes an hour and a half. Allow time. You will get a good result. It is street parking, but the area is always very easy to park.

Fall is always the time when I want a fancy haircut and a nice hair color. Crimper’s Bizarre was busy on the date I wanted to go(everything seems to be busy whenever I decide to get something this month), so I checked around Unilocal.Pam’s name came up and I decided to try something new. First was the consultation. She played with my hair for a bit and showed me a few options for color and styling. I decided to get my hair layered and colored a warm fall red-orange. My next visit(the following week) with her was the actual cut and color day. I admit I never had such bold color placement before but I wasn’t scared. She has magic hands when it comes to coloring and seemed to know just how far to take the color hue. After all I wanted a warm glow for my color, not a Hot Topic DIY red dye job. She’s so sweet and friendly. I learned though conversation that we’re actually in the same neighborhood. Her haircuts are quick and thorough. So now my glorious colored hair has the much needed bounce and volume. Overall my cut and color(with some styling) came to $ 150 + tip, or about the price I expected from someone who’s a top notch stylist. Be sure to have cash and/or your checkbook ready! I totally forgot my checkbook that day and she was nice enough to have me mail it off to her instead. Pam is a class act and deserves all the love. One last thing, the salon is next door to a sushi restaurant if you have a hard time locating the place. When you see the Starbucks or the Bank of America on the corner start looking for parking.

Well, this would have to be the compliment of all compliments. Pam… what can I say? I’m a very particular person and I was always unsatisfied with the stylist I’ve had. I was never loyal and always changed stylist every so often. Till about 4 years ago when I was referred by a very talented stylist friend, who is also Pam’s very close friend, who happens to be my sister’s stylist since who knows when(years). I’ve been trying to get an appointment with my sister’s stylist since she is such in demand(loved her style and my sisters’ hair was always so nice and up to date), instead I was lucky enough that she mentioned an opening of another stylist that she highly spoke about, who is just as good as her and in demand(that tells me a lot) There it was. Pam was then introduced to me. The professionalism and her one-on– one attentive service is top notch. I know quality and I am not easily impressed but she is that good. My first meeting with Pam was a consultation, she sat down with me, let me fill out a hair history type sheet(something that you would do at the doctor’s office so they have you on record) WOW! She keeps a binder of her clients records which made me feel comfortable that the next time I will be getting a touch up, it will not be another tone/color. Unlike other salons I’ve been to, they only second guess what color they applied me with the last time. Not to mention the overly rated *Daly City* go to salon in Westlake that takes walk ins and 2 – 3 clients at a time. Not here — this is top quality by appointment only. She is very talented and takes her training classes every few months in L.A. Yes she is a DIVA for style and she has been the only stylist I have given full control of my hair. Not to mention, if Pam thinks your hair is too fried and you want her to color it anyway, she will deny you for your own sake. Pam does not take advantage of you just because you want service; she tells you the truth and will not hesitate to deny you for a better look and health of your hair. FYI: Look up Frederick Fekkai — they were in the class some years ago. Which btw, I am a fan of his top quality products. That alone tells you she is no joke.

I’ve been going to pam since high school… so i guess for almost 8 – 9 years? everytime someone asks me where i get my hair done, i have to remember where Pam is at now. I went from watching TFC in her garage, to colma, and then now to San Bruno ave — which is even better because it’s only 15 mins away from work. she’s flexible with her schedule — just remember to find out if she’s going to vegas or anywhere else for vacation, and she remembers everything! i trust her enough to just ask her what she thinks i should do with my hair, and she never fails to disappoint. even if it’s something i’m not really really wild about — i learn to love it and thank pam for her insight. just an appointment with her for trim, and even that made a world of a difference… see ya in a couple of weeks!

Before I met Pam, I would hop from salon to salon. It is definitely hard to find a hairstylist who is patient and very good with all types of hair. I’m so happy I found Pam by accident about 5 years ago. I can not even describe how much I love this lady. She can do hair in her garage or move to India and I will be there to get my hair done. She is amazing. She takes her time and she does hair meticulously. One day I may want to look like Katie Holmes and Pink the next, but worst of all I am very, very picky with my hairstyles… but Pam is very patient and compromises with the style I’m in the mood for at the moment. What I mean by compromise, is that she tries to get as close as she can to what I like but at the same time she doesn’t over-do or kill my hair. She is very good with hair color! This lady is truly an EXPERT at what she does. I’m always a client for life and now a friend as well.

I’ve been going to Pam for a couple of years now and her general style is somewhere between conservative and punk wild. I usually go to her for highlights that definitely don’t happen in nature. My latest is a lovely dark brown/red base with intense red highlights. She’s really great with explaining what she’s doing, and the pros and cons of a particular style or color choice. In fact, she turned me on to this trick because I am so anal about my highlights growing out; instead of putting the highlights on the top of my head, she’ll «hide» them by putting them everywhere except the top. They look great, even 20 weeks later when I have them done again. She was trained at Yosh for Hair on Maiden Lane, so she definitely knows how to treat her customers and her cutting technique is definitely up there. Funny thing is that I have never brought in a picture for her to copy the style. My attitude is that I don’t want to give her too many limitations, because I honestly don’t know what would look good on me. I’ll just tell her if I want it short or long, light or dark and she’ll come up with some possible looks to choose from. Her prices are reasonable for the kind of work she does. A cut, color(double process) and style will set you back $ 150 plus tip. Awesome hairdresser!
